Just so you all are aware. The helicopters are very janky, they don't get hit location damaged, or anything. You just have to keep shooting them tell they explode or you kill the crew. It's still fun, but don't want to give peeps expectations super high.
@@Henrysmith537 Of course, but that is a long way down the road. I want people to come in with a proper expectation vs expecting a major combat. Like Reforger is in the right direction, the light infantry combat is amazing. Just need to assure youtubers are expressing that to the viewers.
BI has barely any ressources working on Reforger directly. It flopped, they got some money from it and now they move on and hopefully do better with Arma4.

If I understood correctly, Reforger was always intended as the stepping stone/proof of concept/test case between arma 3 and arma 4. So I think a lot of exciting stuff is to come

when chased by an attack helo in a vehicle, and he is pretty close to you, the best thing you can do is drive towards him! you will make his nose go down more, so he comes lower, then he overshoots you and has to turn (if you survived the strafe), while beeing low (he dont has to turn, he could raise up, but most players are greedy^^). this gives you best window of opportunity to shoot him down. i like how realistic arma reforger feels. not only does it look awesome and close to real, it also sounds extremely good. how distant sounds sound, close sounds, loudness, reflections of soundwaves in the landscape, its all on the point. arma4 will be huge, if this is only a tech demo to play around, get a feel for multiplayer balancing and for modders to start working on arma 4 assets.
It's so weird looking at ArmA Reforger/modded ArmA Reforger, It feels like ArmA 3, It's like the difference between skinny Steve rogers and buff Steve rogers.
This was really early DarkGru servers but at the moment there are no attack helicopters. Modded are creating them and we are also waiting for Bohemia interactive to make rockets available for helicopters planned in the roadmap

Reforger is showcasing and testing Bohemia Interactive’s new enfusion engine. Which has been utilized in DayZ standalone. The version for Reforger is more flushed out and has amazing graphics and really stunning improvements compared to ArmA 3. It provides more capabilities for modders and a much more intense,immersive experience for players. It also gives Bohemia Interactive a good insight on how ArmA 4 will play/run. I’ve been bingeing Reforger a lot and I think it’s really promising. I bought the entire ArmA franchise over time and started playing with ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead. This is a serious upgrade compared to those games. It lacks other features, but it’s a good play. It’ll be flushed out like A3. Arma 3 actually isn’t what it was when it came out. It had many problems and little content. Just imagine what Reforger will be 3 years from now or even so what will Arma 4 be then. I think Bohemia Interactive is a very talented team and I don’t think they will disappoint. You gotta be patient and enjoy what we have cuz it won’t look like this video. It’ll be better

Arma Reforger is used to showcase the new engine and it's functions. Arma Reforger won't really be a flashed out game and is used to collect Feedback which is then being added to Arma 4. These steps are pretty important which makes it easier for bohemia to make Arma 4 way better and much more to our liking

I’ll be honest, I think Bohemia took a lot of time modeling a lot of the stuff in Reforger from scratch. To add more vehicles requires licensing probably. Even the base vehicles are modeled really nicely with full interiors. The modded vehicles are bought from CGItrader and implemented into Reforger. Some models for T-72 or Abrams are 150$ to just get the model with full interior. So in retrospect people(community) have to hand make this to work. I think with ArmA 4 we will have more content like tanks and attack helicopters. Reforger isn’t like Arma 3 in terms of adding content (more equipment, vehicles etc..) it is easier and has more functions, modulability. For the community it’s like learning to ride a bike again. Some of the modded content doesn’t look right, the lighting, textures. Looking back at Arma 3. All the content BI released is really well done, the mods are really good too like RHS or CUP. But you can tell who made what just by quality. I enjoy vanilla Reforger just as much as modded. Vanilla is more stable anyway.
