Morty objects to this and Rick and the alien government decide to work together to figure out how to make consistent flow of spaghetti without turning its citizens into livestock. This is one method: cloning featureless torsos that have basic life functions (and no brain to reduce questions of snuffing out a soul) and one clawed hand to kill itself with to fufill the suicide requirement in the spaghetti process. Too bad it didn't go anywhere because there are still groups that find it ethically problematic and consumers think the spaghetti made from the cloned torsos tastes subpar.
