That view after takeoff of the entire airport was absolutely incredible!!! I am begging that when I fly out I get a view like that! Amazing video.
Thanks! I seriously lucked out BIG TIME with that shot. So I wanted to sit on the left side solely to get sunrise footage during the flight since we were flying straight south. We departed to the east and for some reason we took a left (northerly) turn and looped all the way back around and I was able to get the incredible aerial shot of the airport! Was definitely a huge bonus and made for an amazing shot and thumbnail!
The only thing i like about the early morning flights is that you arrive into your final destination during the day hours
This is my first time to see the new terminal layout from any avgeek channel--I'm guessing the two half-circle terminals are no longer being used by any carrier--everybody has moved to the new layout?
Great overview of the entire MCI layout, you lucked out on sitting where you did! Are you making your way home to MSY or ATL? I don't know which city is home at the moment. You can't complain about the sunrise and the cloud layer, good combination! Judging from the takeoff roll, you seem to have a light load.
Correct, all carriers have moved over to the new terminal. And actually the reason I sat on the left side was to see the sunrise. Not sure why we didn’t just make a right, southerly turn after takeoff, but the loop around was a big bonus! And currently MSY is my home base again.
