I will never forget a conversation I had with two individuals. We were talking about life.
One of the people began sharing, in a very warm and kind way, the beautiful life she grew up in. Her loving home, a supportive family, a welcoming community; her childhood and journey into adulthood was filled with light, warmth, nobility and dignity.
The other person joined the conversation expressing how he grew up in an entirely different universe! His life was one of trauma and pain. A hostile home, angry family, disconnected community; his childhood and journey into adulthood was filled with darkness, backstabbing, narcissism and selfishness.
His description brought me to tears.
I started to think about this contrast, how every person has a different perspective on life based on their different experiences. To some this world is warm, open, inviting. And to others it's cold, hostile and isolating.
No doubt, over the course of our lives most of us experience both beautiful times and sometimes ugly ones. But how do you perceive the world as a whole? Do you wake up to a loving world, ready to absorb its warmth and fly with the angels? Or do you wake up to a mean world, ready to brace the cold and battle demons?
Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson in this life-changing talk, and discover that despite the darkness, coldness and hostility often surrounding us, we have the inner resources to warm and illuminate not only ourselves but others as well. We are not products or victims of circumstance. At our core and essence we are bright and soaring souls, sent to a dark and cold universe, with the innate power to transform and create a beautiful world, no matter the challenges.

Rabbi, I was feeling sad and helpless. My husband is sick and needs an operation. He is on unpaid 3 month leave from work. I am 60 and we have no money. I started to feel that I was worthless. I had forgotten that my true worth has nothing to do with money. My Orthodox Grandmother of blessed memory used to say that "Happiness is from the heart out, not the world in." Your words have reminded me of this and now I am ready to make a better tomorrow for others instead of feeling so stressed about money and my place in society. Maybe I cannot contribute monetarily right now, but there are many things I can and will do for others. Thank you!

I have spent two days listening to Rabbi Simon and have just ordered his book ‘Toward a Meaningful Life’.

OMG, where have you been all my life? Haven't heard anyone connect the dots for a very long time in way that feels easy to digest and receive and understand. It's been a long and windy road so far, yet I feel better about myself listening to you. I feel like a sponge absorbing every drop of information that I'm able to understand, although regardless, my Soul feels good listening to your message. I've been overcome w/ emotions, flooded to where I even cried a few seconds several times since I've been listening to you. Don't remember shedding more than a few tears ( other than watching a rare Disney movie ) since I was a teen 30 plus years ago. I am so very grateful for your messages. First of all, that the man's story brought you to tears touched me deeply - in that I understood that someone would feel such empathy for that man's - and my - experiences as a child. My world was constant fear and hurt and humiliation. No love. But secondly - you validated a "knowing" that I have always had - that I came here with a flame in me. I've always known that, and I've always known who I am - despite the attempts to destroy us kids - to extinguish our spirit. My fire has felt like embers at low points - but it never goes out, and I have never lost the soul that is me. And despite the void we grew up with, I have always reached out to others in love and in empathy. I have struggled with frustration and anger, and insecurity sometimes in that I had to teach myself the socialization my parents never gave us - but I have done my best, from my very soul. Thank you so much for your caring heart.

I want to don't because I know all that cold and darkness can ve turned into the brightest light which can warm just not your heart, but the heart if any other soul that your words can reach. There's many ways to do that and I'm still trying to find one that has the most impact. Honestly though when i see people lokenyounit give me hope and inspires me to keep searching, reading and learning.

We have to be very, very careful about how we describe reality because describing reality is not making an accurate report about that which just is de facto. Describing reality is issuing directives to the Creation to be this way or that.
It is the Rabbis' constantly saying that the world is a dark place that makes it so for you and then you must fight very mightily to be kind in a harsh world - but it is you who made the world harsh with your harsh directives and descriptions of reality. And you interpret Torah harshly too - starting with your judgement of Adam/Chavah/HaNachash ( HaNachash = 363 = HaMashiach). Then you don't understand why HaMashiach keeps a distance from you and you are always waiting for the arrival of the very one you judge as having bad intentions for Adam and, thinking he brought "death" into the world, pushed away. And the terrible part is because you think you know what death is, you all die in accordance with your understanding which is becoming separated from your Body.
I knew a wonderful woman who used to call all of her kindergarten children Tzaddik or Tzaddeket, even when they acted badly. I asked her why. She said: Because that is how I want them to think of themselves and so they will be.
It is the same with the Creation. When we describe the Creation, we must encourage the Creation to be a wonderful place to be. We must describe the Creation as it will enjoy being. You see, Shim'on: The Creation is our Child. Do you understand?

    • @marksingleton7199
      @marksingleton7199 Před rokem +1

God created and we got lost in ourself. God sends the soul so that we can see God. The mind that created itself with Gods energy is lost in its own thought and not only does it not know how to open up to God but has forgotten what it is thought that feeds off of itself rather than God. A child that knew better and ran away from Gods thought.
The mind has to accept the soul opening up and opening the world. Many do not want the prison gates opened and will fight back. The Narcissist will take your help and then demand you continue to give like a slave. The drug addict needs you to support his habbit. Some will demand you love them and everyone else while they sun bathe in your light without effort. The nurse who is overworked and underpaid but the management demand more for less.
Its about a united mind that was once governed by Gods truth and is now in anarchy. The soul is a visitor to a closed mind that has thoughts that live for a while and die. The soul is here to guide and wake up its brother that is distracted by its own misleading thought. We just need to let it happen.

Spiritualy l feel and closer to heaven than l have ever been. As l can see it now. But worldly lm at the lowest hellish point ever. Its gonna kill me horribly to continue the hell here. I dont know what the right thing to do is. I dont want to do the wrong thing for god and children.
I dont want god to be angry with me. I want to do the right thing for god and my children. I need to see the love l lost for one minute at the end as l have made my end the beggining of true love. Thats how low l feel in this world and its hard to stay alive here with the pain.
But l can see the other side now spiritually. I thank god for opening my eyes. But l dont want to do the wrong thing and ruin the beggining at the end and the life of my children.
