Like fire, the soul is passionate. It is the source of our greatest strength.
Yet the fire of the soul, like all fire, can be destructive. The craving for a spiritual high, for transcendence, is healthy. But great care must be taken to ensure that these spiritual experiences don’t burn you up.
Drugs (the strange fire) can take you to another dimension, but they cannot open your soul. Like any fire, they can consume you. Drugs yield experiences, meaning something that you feel, but real spiritual transcendence is not an experience.
Real spiritual transcendence doesn’t involve sensation. During real spiritual transcendence, you actually forget that you are experiencing anything at all. You are immersed so fully in the world of spirit that the self who experiences sensation is not even present.
So, no, drugs don’t help a person to live a meaningful life. They can offer otherworldly experiences, but true spirituality is digging your hands in and refining yourself and the world.

Rabbi I taught my children the best high in the world is accomplishments
Because they chase you , you don't have to chase them.
Wow Rabbi I can relate. I am a musician, artist and extremely intuitive and I'm a hermit always searching for mysteries.
Since my mom past 11 years ago, i have never felt the flame. I just am
Thank you Rabbi
Many beautiful days for you

So the logic behind "kosher" is the combination of transcendence and grounding.... Beautiful....
GOD bless you Rabbi
9:59-10:16 (personal mark for me to find that specific part)
11:54 - 12:03 (another golden statement worth memorizing)

I'm so glad he talked about the tension of life because sometimes it's hard to put in words, and yes it can be subjective and that it is different for each one of us. I definitely believe that one source of tension is when you are dealing with a situation a stimulus and you don't know how to integrate that into your life or how to respond to it and so that creates tension as well
Interesting!
Dear Rabbi Jacobsen, I am quite new to your podcast, but very much enjoying them. Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into this. In my experience, the psychedelic experience has a great many facets to it, but is in any case a phenomenon to be studied closely. When approached consciously, it tends to bring what one can internalise. Either within weeks, months or years. I’m not sure that ascension to great heights precludes living everyday life with presence and in the right contact with others. Perhaps the main thing is not to become a Chelm psychonaut? Incidentally, often my experiences address the question where man and God got separated. I am curious to hear from you on that subject, on a transcendent level and how it reflects in our everyday lives. 🙏🏻
I used to get high off drugs and alcohol now I get high off serving God and try to be a better person
I resonate fully with what you’re saying. And my question is if you think that it is possible to achieve that tension and resolution when a person use psychedelics but give himself time to integrate what the psychedelic high has show him
🙏
🙏🙏🙏
If we pray and speak in faith in the Hebrew toung, is it more effective?I ask this because the word in English states, "My people perish for lack of Wisdom." Well mom always told me that if you want the truth start at the head or rather the beginning. All people who believe in Yeshua should learn Hebrew . Hmmm
Selah... @theartistbk check out canvas paintings...
