Just want to say thank you to everyone at Braille, you guys have inspired me to start skating again after I quit for over 8 years. I will have to re-learn all of my tricks, but I just bought Skateboarding Made Simple and will hopefully get better over time. I'll even be posting update videos on how I progress throughout the series. Thanks again Aaron, Lance, and Gabe for the awesome content. Keep it up guys!

I learned in high school wood shop class this is the same stuff that removes saw dust of from sanding belts. 👍 not admitting but I might have accidentally just borrowed a chunk. 👍👍💯
well, funny to hear that actually. i may be starting product design next term in d and t (i’m british) and some of my school’s stuff may accidentally find it’s way to cleaning my skateboard after this..
To save yourself like a year of scrubbing and throwing out your arm just get a bowl of warm water, a brush (tire brush or something like that). Wet the brush and scrub the board, grab a microfiber towel and pat dry. Takes maybe 5-10 min to clean the whole board and another 5 to let it dry. Turns Grip Tape basically brand new

@@braydendougan9462 makes no difference , just got my santa Cruz board + trucks,griptape etc. (first skateboard) put my backfoot on the tail and my other foot in the middle of the board while i was skating fast , and once the tail touched the ground , a large amount of the graphic was just gone , AND I ONLY DID IT ONCE
@Resinds .P oh dude I hade no idea, I thought the everslick saved the graphic because of the layer of plastic that is on the bottom, Ive actually never tried the everslick. But try the powell peralta flight deck, the graphics are simple on it. Right now I'm actually using the Scott decenzo pro model, for like 2 months

If you have a harbor freight near you they sell the belt sander brick for around $7.00...love the videos guys....your skating made simple taught me to Ollie in just under a week...I got the bug!

Think of what the local park trash collector must think on days like this when he finds all of that stuff in the trash can. lol
When your grip has caked dirt, use a stiff nylon detailing brush (automotive shop for a couple bucks) to agitate it and bring it to the surface. It makes it easy for the eraser to do a better job and you aren't skinning your knucks.

grip gum can be found in every shop in LA, its crazy to me that they've never seen it. not as cheap as belt sander cleaner though,would definitely recommend a chunk lile that for 15 than a small little slab for 7.99
I bet some entrepreneur guy bought this belt sander cleaner stuff and was like "I can make a bunch of money off this if I sell it to skaters" and that's when he started ripping people off with that 8 bucks for a little chunk deal lol. It's a good thing this guys a nice person and let us in on it.
You can buy grip gum and there are other brands as well. back in the day it was more popular to clean grip tape.

I live in UK and it likes to rain, so always get mud and wet patches on my board. Can get really dirty, I found this stuff at my local shoe repair shop. There really nice and I some time get some off cuts from them and it works really well.

This may not be the cleanest way but get a brass brush and dip it in water and scrub the poo off then use a cloth to soak up the water poo and then use the natural rubber to clean off the rest

grip tape is literally sand paper with an adhesive surface on the one side.. its a disposable surface meant to do a job and friction of any sort eeventually wears it down
phototristan yes but it's still more grip than if it was dirty. When your grip tape gets stuff on it , it will start to become a flat surface which is bad because grip tape is meant to be a rough surface for more friction. Yes it will take some of the roughness away but it'll still be better than dirty

Is belt sander cleaner better than Grip Gum or are they the exact same material? Grip Gum turned into a hard brick and it's really hard to get soft again. Soaking it in isopropyl alcohol seems to help though.

+N Xmilar The thing they used to clean it looks a lot like the stuff used to refresh sand paper. You can get them at lowes or other big hardware stores. Just search for sandpaper cleaner.
