You always keep things in perspective with honest & legit insight into the business. This sets expectations from the start. Like anything, it takes time to grow. These aren't get rich quick schemes. So I appreciate you being completely transparent. Hard word = results. Simple concept. But the best advice you gave is to keep your head down and keep pushing. To not get discouraged. As an artist, I struggled with the idea of POD. Until I'd watched many of Greg's vids, I didn't understand how I could put my designs on shirts or any other product without risking being ripped off by non-artists, which is most likely most POD people. Also, my work takes days or weeks to produce, so it didn't make sense to me. Even simplified, I was still compelled to produce my 'vision' of each design. Once I believed that POD is not about ART, but rather about Niches, it helped me to shift my thinking and to think of this as a business. It wont replace my Art Career, but it will teach me about Marketing, etc. I hope this can help you, as well. K

Sorry to hear about that but glad you found these videos. Print on demand and affiliate marketing are 2 extremely good business models to replace your income. Greg, I have two stores. One is tee public and Teespring is the other. I have been up less than a month. I have about a total of 60 designs. I have not made one sale yet and I am okay with it because I believe that things take time and I need to do the Instagram. Also Greg I want you to know how much I appreciate you and all that you have done to help others get on line. I am in my 70’s and I do not have enough money to survive. I don’t need a lot of money, but enough and I believe this is my answer. I want you to know that this online POD is also for seniors too.

Greg, I purchased a couple of your courses several years ago before your current sharing model where everyone has no-cost access to everything. Congrats on the new approach! While watching those courses I decided it sounded like way too much work, but now with the revolutionary tools available, I'm all about it! To that end, I am watching and rewatching all of your current videos, taking notes, taking action, and coming back for reference and details. I appreciate your efforts to make this information available - it's incredibly helpful. That being said, as someone who is triggered by flashing bright lights and has to avoid strobe lights, laser shows, etc., I find this video extremely difficult to watch. In fact, I've only made it through the first four minutes so far. I'd like to request that this presentation style be ditched for any future videos, for myself and any other viewers who might be similarly triggered. At the very least, include a warning so that those prone to seizures can take heed and avoid potentially harmful effects. Thank you!

You inspired me to start with Print On Demand. I have one question - do you recommend getting an insurance in case you get in trouble with copyrights? (I use Merchinformer as you recommend to check for copyrights, but wanted your take on whether an insurance additionally makes sense to be really safe)
Or is the worst thing that can happen that your design gets taken off the platform but you dont have to pay a penalty/run into lawsuits etc.?

Great question! I don't think it's necessary. I've heard over the years that it's more of a hand slapping situation and it gets put on the shoulders of the POD site themselves. That's why they are so quick to remove any listings that they think could be infringing on copyrights. I hope that helps!
Hey does shinny man syndrome apply to different niches in your shop , for example I have gone from selling svgs to selling printable planners and now may go to something else but I’ll keep those items still listed in my shop , for example when you did the t shirts did you also do mugs or something else for example when the t shirts weren’t working , isn’t it best to experiment ? Even within t shirts did you switch t shirt niches ?
Hello Greg, thank you for great information and training. My question is off-topic, but this is your most recent video I found, so I am asking here.
I am new to POD and have two questions.
1) Is it possible to change the text on a T shirt design after downloading on Placeit, if so please advise.
2) After downloading my T shirt designs, I changed the pixel size and a tag popped up on the top left hand corner of the designs labelled "FREE", is that the norm. I am concerned whether the label will transfer on the design when I upload to my POD storefront.
I am fully subscribed.
I have been searching for these answers over the past two days, without success.

Indeed, affiliate marketing and print on demand seem to be the only ways to make money online as a solo business (I could also add selling ebooks or eguides).
But I have a concern about the future of SEO, particularly due to AI and Google's updates.
Won't informational content be impacted, as well as reviews, and so on ?
That's why I wondered if it wouldn't be safer to replace blogs with the creation of niche accounts on social media, where we could sell merch, affiliate products, and digital products.
Honestly, that's the reason why I hesitate to dive into affiliate sites concretely.
(PS: I don't know if you noticed, but a Redbubble seller who started in 2023 became a top seller by sharing her unconventional designs on social media. I believe she made over 20,000 sales in 2 months. I find it really inspiring)

Thanks for the comment and excellent points! I personally trust that Google is on top of the AI written content thing. It’s a mess at the moment but it’s literally google’s business to find the best content and rank it first. Since AI content can’t compare to real human written content I’m not too worried. I do still, however think your idea with creating social pages is a very solid idea to protect yourself!

Does Redbubble do currency conversions? If so, when do they convert it? For instance, when I sent an item to the cart, it stays in Dollars and doesn't convert into my local currency which is in Rands because I'm from South Africa. So does it convert or how will foreign customers see the price they have to pay in their local currency? Would appreciate feedback please.
Your videos are incredible! Perhaps the thing I appreciate most is how realistic you are. You let people know at the outset and in no uncertain terms that achieving any measureable success using the two business models you recommend is going to take a lot of hard work and a fair amount of time.I greatly appreciate that you don't recommend or promise any "get rich quick schemes," as so many others do.
One critical thing you said in this video is that achieving success with BOTH of these models requires accurate tools to do research to find low competition niches/subniches. WIth that in mind, I purchased both Merch Informer and PlaceIt. However, for the affiliate marketing, I do not see a suggested such tool for finding these low competition niches/subniches. What tool do you recommend? Would you please provide your affiliate link to that tool so that I may purchase it through your link? Thank you SO much.

You're exactly right, the research is done with a different tool for affiliate marketing because it references google rather than amazon. Thanks and great question. I started with POD because it was easier to get the income started flowing. Once I got the biz built up pretty big, then I switched to AM as the focus. AM takes a lot of time and brain power to write coherent articles so it can be tricky to balance the two at the same time. Now that they are both built up it's easy to switchback and forth day to day. Hope that helps!
@GregGottfried I would like to do AM as well, but I think it would be very difficult to constantly come up with different article ideas, not to mention artcles about something you're an expert at.

Greg, I've been following your steps in print on demand for a while, I do everything exactly how you said, but the platforms Teespring, Redbubble and Teepublic start taking a lot of my designs away for copyright, idk why is that, I'm doing something wrong?
Do I need to do both print on demand and affiliate marketing to succeed or can I just focus on the print on demand?
It depends on how much money you have your goal to make. You can do either one of these individually and make a lot of money, but if you do them both you stand to make even more.

Great question. You can go into as many sub niches as you’d like and they don’t have to have anything in common. I hope that helps!

I don’t think it’s worth your effort because the money is made in this business by having lots of designs in low competition niches. Believe it or not our own marketing doesn’t have a big effect on sales when compared to having a higher volume of designs in good niches.

Greg how much time needed to commit to make considerable profit from print on demand as a beginner? I am asking this because I do full time job in addition to trying an online business
That's a great question. If you're starting with the right processes in place (hopefully you can just follow the steps I lay out in the full tutorial I did recently) then you should have enough time to commit after your normal working hours. It took me more hours in the beginning because I didn't have this process down pat so there were a lot of inefficiencies, but even I was able to make it happen with a traditional job at the same time. I think you can do it! Set your expectations low and let it start working in the background while you're at work and I think you'll be amazed.

Hi Greg, I am great fan of your content. I am looking to start with Passive POD websites like Redbubble, Teepublic etc. Can you confirm is it better to register a Sole Proprietorship before starting a online business on these websites and doing this under your own personal name is also okay. I am not looking to have my personal name and other details exposed via these POD websites.
Great question. I personally don't think you need to register a business for POD. Once you get to $50k per year profit then it may be worth looking into. The only personal details you'll need to give is you SSN for Amazon, but nothing else on the other sites. Each of the sites does payments their own way, however across the board you will be paid either automatically direct deposit to your bank each month, automatically paid to your PayPal each month, or funds build up in your account and you can choose how often you want to withdraw them either into PayPal/Payoneer/direct deposit. This means you only have to give them your email address to your PayPal or Payoneer. I hope that helps clarify!

Hey right on! No worries about Amazon, I don't think most people get in on the first try. The good news is you can reapply as many times as needed but you will need to use a different email address for each reapplication. I've spoken to a number of people who got in on the 2nd or 3rd try so don't give up. It's a really good platform to be on but even if you end up not getting in its not the end of the world because you can make a full time income from the other site alone. Good luck man!

Hey Greg, Trying to learn what your opinions are on this. Should you create multiple Teepublic accounts with vairous niches (similarly to how you did with your Teespring Yoga account) or just create multiple "albums." Teepublic seems to suggest that you should focus on one large page and then have different albums. So, what is your thoughts on that for the various websites. I know for social media keep everything niche specific. But what about the actual sales sites. Thank you in advance. You are a total and legit Boss for Shizzle!!!!
Really good question! Nowadays you can keep every niche in the same account. It seems like all the sites have begun moving away from the storefronts and more to the focus being on the individual items in the marketplace. They have been making storefronts more and more hidden. I don't mind this change, and it makes things simple. I hope that is insightful and helps!

I know you talked about putting hashtags in the comment section... But do hashtags affect people finding my t-shirt on a website organically? It seems like what they really do is help people see them on social media. But if I want to increase people seeing my shirt organically on the website it's listed on do I have to provide long detailed descriptions that include all of those words so that the SEO will be higher ranking?

I recommend continuing to reapply with new email addresses until you get in. I've talked to many people who got in on the 2nd or 3rd try. Keep at it, good luck!
