This hits home I’ve been in the same disastrous slot machine cycle for awhile now and I just can’t break it

I always look foward to these stories , especially those to do with strickly slots as that was my only gambling activity . 20 years of walking out completely broke or with only coins in pocket . No time gambling once i got there ever seemed to be enough . Money did truly become nothing more than a way to feed the dopamine hits . An expensive lesson to be sure but a lesson never the less .

Thank you. Your story resonates with me. I thought my thoughts on gambling was my own excuse. I resonate with winnings ALWAYS get out back in the machines. Last night i put back over $1000 back and used my $600. I left with one dollar in my purse.

I ended up in a casino last week, i gambled away £250 in a matter of about 15 minutes, I've never had a real issue with gambling but that experience scared the s*** out of me and made me realise I need to be careful.

Yeah gambling gets absolutely crazy once you get into it. So many people have lots thousands if not millions of £ in casinos. But I'm glad to hear you already realized the dangers!

These stories break my heart! I do enjoy gambling but never gamble more than I can afford to lose - I consider it a form of entertainment. Sad thing is I have a friend that has lost EVERYTHING due to a gambling addiction and a guy I met that I honestly felt was my soul mate left me to go back to an ex that has a gambling addiction. She promised him she had changed but time will tell.

The way I go out of control, it's inconceivable that there people who can exercise that level of control.
Well, is an indication that it has something to do with childhood traumas in those of us who compulsive.

This has really hit home. We all kind of go through the same thing in gambling. My poison is aviator which I believe is a type of slot machine....
The other thing I noticed is the death wish in sleep. I often do pray that happens to me when I think about the hole I have dug.

Thank you for this story. I relate to slots and not the other gambling. This one was most helpful. Thanks for sharing.

I stole 1K from my mom's account. I don't even know what I was thinking. I feel ashamed. This feeling of shame and pain helps me to overcome the thought of going to casino again. I need to put the money back first. It is a form of torture, people. Pls don't gamble for the mental health's sake.

It's kind of hard to feel bad for gamblers. I mean, they brought it upon themselves.
But I do love hearing about gambling stories, it always makes me remember how bad gambling is. A good reminder for myself to never ever try it, even once.

87% of gamblers quit just before hitting a big score.

It is not worth the emotional pain it causes and it is never guaranteed.

That's what's really sad. The people who quit and don't believe in themselves. One more pull and they get instant riches.
