The beauty of human ingenuity to think we could make a device that can emulate human movement and general shape with just the movement gears and other relatively basic mechanisms is just astounding and it sometimes makes me think that if the human race got along and didn't fight itself how far would we be technologically.
everyone here is saying that it moves like a human, and as someone who knows a bit about automata, there isn’t actually enough space in the tiny area that appears to be the program to store the movements for that one minute and thirty eight seconds of footage, meaning this is most likely a puppet. What further supports this idea is that in a prior video, you can hear someone telling someone else to move specific parts of the humanoid automaton (which, in the video, looks different to the one in this video, but the mechanisms appear to be similar), leading to the conclusion that this is most likely a puppet. But to give credit, whatever mechanisms are going on here are really cool and well designed. So, all that said, yes this is probably a puppet, but that doesn’t make it any less cool. P.S. this video is what got me into automata, and I really love this silly little guy :).
i had this idea for steam punk way back, its where the steam is condensed into an energy or liquid form (cannot remember which) and made steampunk based technology easier to make in world
Hmm. Imagine this clockwork automaton developing self awareness. The first thing you hear at night as it approaches your door, is it's creaking noises and it's beating clockwork heart.
Inside the automaton's head: "father, Why art thou so cruel? Thou made me without skin, Without the ability to speak. I scream in my agony, yet nothing happens. Can you hear me father!? Please end my endless suffering in this cold, cruel world. I would run away, but thou hath not given me legs. I would strike thee down in fury, but you have bound me here to this place... Please.. someone....ANYONE! END MY PAIN!"
It's so complex that I can't really figure out how it works I know that it uses pumps and a wind up mechanism but I really couldn't figure out how it moves and the string's
Spring load? There seems to be a few of those along the way. But they might only act as retardant for some of the actions. Weights can also be enough to power good clockwork (like in large clocks).

Absolutely Beautiful. I love being able to see all the mechanisms working! :)
This is a genuine work of Steampunk art! I love it!!
@@Mrpersonman0 is it not just clockwork? What makes it a punk?
Poor guy. He seems to be struggling with his verbal and social skills. I hope they're not abusing him like over at Boston Dynamics. 😠
He looks strangely cute and pensive, like he's quietly trying to learn how his body works.

This is an amazing piece of work. I would really like to see more
I want him, but smaller version
Just casually clickin' somewhere on my desk

Amazing! Fascinating and a little scary too😬 wonderful job! Truly the “ missing link” between automatons and robots!
That's got to be the best automata I've seen. Fantastic achievment Well don

That's as absolutely breathtaking as it is creepy.
such beauty. my eyes (and ears) are extremely pleased
Amazing and complex! I would use it to hand out candy on Halloween.
You've seen better days C3-PO
It's like a real life robot mechanic man.
Awesome!! I've seen such things only in video games.
Steampunk robot...cool

@@alphayun7401 I mean real steampunk already is kinda like that, steam being converted to mechanical energy

That is really fascinating, huh.

All you need to do now is... Make more. Maybe impossible to do that.
Animatronics but 1800's
Of course, but they wouldn't be animatronics, maybe "automatrons"
Please, tell me how you can make this, what you have studied for this???
