It’s Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon(even though Yugi nor Joey never summoned it). It’s so good it’s banned in OCG and Master Duel. Also technically, in the battle city arc of the show, Yugi had both materials in his deck (Dark Magician and Red-Eyes Black Dragon).
As a kid I thought Magician of Black Chaos was the sickest looking dude ever. Something about him coming out clutch at the climax of his their duel with Pegasus. Yugi putting his life on the line so that Yami could summon him next turn was hype

@@shadowpup3016 from what i've seen there is some bastard relationship with archfiends but it's messy and unclear.
@@brago900 I try to use a Summoned Skull themed deck. The best you can do is just use Dragoon with a BA and Phantom Knights engine. I’ve got some rank 6 plays in there as well with Dhampir and Jinzo - Layered and a way to get Arc Rebellion out. It’s really nothing special though, the best extra deck “support” card that Summoned Skull got was Archfiend’s Awakening. Without a ritual monster, he can be kind of annoying to get rid of.
Thanks Team APS for rekindling my love for yu-gi-oh! I stopped playing roughly '02-'03, and tried to get back into it in 2020, but the gap was too large for me to get back into it (competitively, which is what I enjoy in TCGs), but i still watch a bunch of your content, because the love is still there for the Yu-Gi-Oh culture, and I wouldnt have really revisited it if i didnt catch one of your videos a couple years ago. Thanks again!

Yes! I actually wanted at least a manga about Yugi vs. Atem using newer decks. Yugi with Gaia and Atem with DM. If it was a non cannon movie or tv series of them using various decks based on cards they've used before, I would throw money at konami. Also Joey vs Kaiba, let Joey use a Red-Eyes deck

Tbh I was always super partial to Summoned Skull. It was his ace card in the manga and it usually had some great moments in the anime. Plus it looked awesome

Crazy comeback on that 2nd game, I absolutely love the Gaia archetype! One of my favourite ones in the game which I play frequently.

I love the Gaia deck, but unfortunately it’s severely outclassed by most decks in higher ranks. There needs to be a fun decks only mode in md.

Team APS helps me get through my week. Sounds funny but sometimes when I’m lonely I just put them on in the background and it seriously helps lmao

Yugis true ace (early on) is obviously kuriboh. It allowed him to withstand the onslaught of blue eyes ultimate dragon and gain invincibility. And also blocked all of thousand eyes restricts eyes. Meanwhile dark magician is just constantly destroyed.
You should do more master duel battle and have more competitive matches like these with everyone else on the channel and other yugitubers. These are hella dope

If we're talking little Yugi gandora is easily his best boss monster not only super iconic but just a sick design and super fun card.
As for Atem, I think I'd say Arcana knight joker I always loved the fave card theme and it being one of his few cards that surpass 3k atk just always made it such a sick moment when it came out.

Summoned Skull was Yugi's first boss monster in the manga. And lol at Ryhme summoning BLS, the chaos evolved form of Gaia and still losing.
El Shaddoll Construct has had me in a chokehold ever since I discovered the archetype.
I don't know if this card counts since, he has never used it in the original anime but it's in his deck in GX go Black Luster Soldier Envoy of Beginning which also created the chaos archetype.

By far the Egyptian god cards. The dramatic call outs at the key moments of duels just makes it all worth it. Especially when the winged dragon of ra call out in atems duel against yugi

Strange answer, it's Eye of Timaeus for me. I know it's not even a monster card, but the Orichalcos arc is my favorite arc of the anime, and I love how the spell card works.

His best card is Bluster Soldier, it has the same attack and defense as Blue Eyes
I’ve always loved slifer since I was a kid. The design is super cool and the concept of him beating it and then getting it from his opponent to use to win battle city was awesome when I first saw it.
Fun fact. Gaia is Blackluster soldier.

Hey Paul, if you read this, your audio was kinda wonky in the intro - if you're using the single direction mode on the blue yeti, you have the mic backwards.
Nice duel. Gaia the fierce night was the very first shiny I pulled, from the legend of blue eyes set and the curse of Dragon, when that set was first released.
I've been playing Gaia since the game came out and this deck has seen all meta decks even the current. If you get a good hand, if you know how to play the deck it can OTK, the effect of galloping gaia is just nasty, and the deck is just fun to play.
Yugi’s best boss monster? It’s f***ing Kuriboh! First ever hand trap, overpowered Dark Magician to become his deck master in the Noah arc, and just overall an amazing card.
Yugi summoned Dark Magician first in his duel against Kaiba. Then in the duelist kingdom tournament he summoned Gaia against Weevil

The first duel could have been won on Team APS first turn (he won anyway so it don't matter) if he first fusion summoned Curse of Dragon, the Magical Knight Dragon. It would have allowed him to grab the fusion card from the GY then fusion summon using monster in the GY as materials. So his field would have been: Curse of Dragon, the Magical Knight Dragon 2000ATK & Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons 5200ATK and after both of them attack he could have special summoned Soldier Gaia the Fierce Knight 2600ATK and attacked for game.
You guys should do a Yugi free for all with all of his archetypes he's had over the years! (Dark Magician, Gaia, magnet warriors, legendary dragons, God cards, etc...)

In the anime the boss number of boss monster Yugi and Pharoah atem have are vast. As for his strongest ones in my opinion they go by order
1" timaeus the knight of destiny
2. Slier the sky dragon
3.gandora the dragon of destruction
4.Dragon master knight
5. Any fusion variont with the legendary dragon timaeus. (Ex. Amulet dragon )
. there are other mentions which are powerful but rarely played like exodia etc

Ya yugioh first boss monster back in duelist kingdom was Gaia the dragon master, until we came near the finals we got black luster soldier and magician of black chaos.
I always had an appreciation for Black Skull Dragon. Maybe not a boss monster for Yugi, but definitely one of my favorites.
From memory, Yugi summons DM in his first duel against Kaiba and not Gaia. I think at least.

Thanks for showing that Gaia in Nugioh is plain and simple busted in any format. XD You came back from 500 LP and replicated an effect from the Duelist Kingdom arc without losing pace! Insane. As for the best boss monster? It depends on what you count as a boss monster. Consistently it's probably DM or some incarnation of him but win wise it's Pink Obelisk AKA Obelisk after it's absorbed the other two god cards and gained Infinite attack. Now you can't do that in the TCG or even OCG really so it's not terribly fair to count as a boss monster but using the rules of the anime yeah it never failed to put down whatever was in front of it.
