- Sydney Park's performance of her original poem "Sit Like a Lady" at the 100th Anniversary Miss America competition. She was awarded the Preliminary Talent Award, a first for a monologue-type performance at the Miss America competition.

Miss New York gave me everything and as a fellow poetess , I memorized this artwork
Here are the lyrics to this masterclass in poetic prose by this beauty queen ( for those who are hard of hearing I wrote the lyrics )
When I was a little girl I was told to sit like a lady
Legs together
ankles crossed
knees together
back straight
Chin up
Perfect , porcelain perfection
But if you tell me to sit like a lady
I will speak like a lady
With conviction diction , direction
A woman with a vision
unphased by derision
She speaks and the world listens
If you tell me to sit like lady
I will act like a lady
I will fight injustice
In the name of justice
Fight against hardened hatred
With unbending courage
That will not be intimidated
So our daughters will know what it will look like
to be the first but not the last madame Vice President
If you tell me to sit like a lady I will think like a lady
Bravely conceiving of dreams worth believing
And striving for all of those dreams worth achieving
If you tell me to sit like a lady .., I WILL SIT LIKE A LADY
In the STATEHOUSE
In the SENATE
In a COURTROOM
In a BOARDROOM
In a corner office
IN THE OVAL OFFICE
because if you tell me to SIT LIKE A LADY
You BEST BE PREPARED for when I stand like one too
