  • Instrumental arrangement of the traditional hymn tune "Picardy" based upon a French Carol, and originally used for the folk tune "Jésus-Christ s'habille en pauvre".
The hymn text "Let all mortal Flesh keep silence" is normally sung to this tune in most hymnals.
Usually sung at a more sombre tempo, here is a more dance-like interpretation maybe in the style of the original carol?

This oddly works, and I can totally see this tune being performed this way originally, especially if it was more secular/folk to begin with. The tune to ding dong merrily on high is somewhat similar too, given it was originally a dance tune. Playing it faster you can see it as a dance tune, but slowing it down makes it work better as a joyful song about Christmas.
