I love how Republicans talk about a civil discourse and we should listen to their views. Then in the next breath will call anyone Democrat anti-American, terrorist, socialist... etc.
The kid presents a classic example of motivated reasoning. Start with your conclusion and then work backwards towards confirmation by use of confirmation bias.

Don't concede that the economy is doing well. Wages have been stagnant, cost-of-living (healthcare, education, rent, mortgages, food, gas) is through the roof. The stock market is high, but that only benefits a small amount of wealthy Americans.
