Well it depends on how you wired the horn. Did you splice into the car horn and split off to the switch which then goes to the trumpet horn (this means the car horn will always work as intended). Or did you cut the wire to the car horn, run it to the switch, then to the trumpet horn and finally back to the car horn; because if that's the case you're car horn will only operate when the trumpet horn is switched on
You got to wire the power through the toggle switch, put the neutral for one horn on one end, the neutral for the other horn on the other end and power line in the centre. That way you only engage one horn at a time.
