i had just bought a samsung tv for the 4k and this video helped some after i had gone in and messed with some settings. just needed to move my hdmi cable to the right port.

Great video. Im trying to apply this same method to my hisense 50 h7 4ktv. I only have one of the options in the 4ktv details checked off the rest are red like yours showed before your work around. I can't seem to figure it out though. I know my tv has 2 hdmi ports that are hdmi 2.0 so i should be able to play my games upscaled. when i switch from 1080 to 4k the dashboard framerate seems to be 30fps but on 1080 resolution its 60fps. My tv doesn't have that UHD Color option.
+ValourTV hello sorry for the late reply I don't have a hisense tv. But is your tv HDR? But I read that your tv might need a software update. Some tvs are not HDR ready and can't get the full 4K/HDR with the Xbox one s. got the X on the 4k with HDR it is way better than S got the 1540 hooked up to the old plasma and it looks great

Yeah man Idk about sony. Check there website for support and also check if there is an update for your tv sometimes they have updates.

Juan Cervantes oh sorry I forgot to tell you. But what I did was I ran through the 4K troubleshoot thing where it tells you if your tv supports 4K or not and I pressed restart console and the 4K started working. Mess with your tv’s video settings and your Xbox’s video settings and keep trouble shooting and you should get it.
OhZoidd What did you mess with on the TV settings since have the same TV? It’d be helpful. I restarted my Xbox twice & it still hasn’t worked
Juan Cervantes I messed with the video settings. I kinda just went through the settings and looked through them if they had any relation to video or 4K resolution
Why am I getting the screen flicker when I enable UHD on the port 1 for my Xbox one s.? I have have to have it enable to have HDR, however the screen keeps flickering on and off.

You forgot abo ut the 30 bits at 10 bits most hd tvs have to be set to that to actually do 4k like mine I have to put that setting on my xbox one s and it works full 4k after because the s eants you to run at 10 bit

Isn't every port on Samsung 4K TVs compatible with UHD color? If not would that be a problem for people who own both Xbox One S & PS4 Pro? More than one port supports UHD color right?
no not all samsung tv. mine only has 1. so when you buy you have to make sure they have more then one but i think all the ports do work in 4k i will check on tv to make sure

First time I did this...it worked perfectly...then now all of a sudden whenever I turn it over to 4K resolution, all the colors are faded and not very deep like they were...I have to do HDR on Battlefront 2 and Forza 7 just to get the colors back to normal...as when I did it before, they were already rich and when I turned on HDR, it was so dark you could barely see the picture...I don't know what is wrong...
did you find a fix for it? i would like to know. never had that issue
Sort of yes...I exchanged the 65" x850e for the 65" x900e...the Full Array and already dark black colors helped out a lot but the XBox still makes me have to use HDR to get the colors, especially on 4K Movies...for the games, I changed the output from 4K to 1080P for Forza and got my colors and picture back..Battlefront 2 looks better on this Model TV with HDR but I haven't tried it in 1080P screen setting...that's the best work around on the games I can do...it's weird cause Forza 6 is just straight up fine on a 4K setting but not Forza 7 when it's suppose to be able to be played in 4K resolution (but then again it's still not Native unless you have a One X so maybe that's why)...I'm going to have to end up getting a stand alone 4K Bluray player for the movies though...cause the XBox isn't doing them justice...

I have a 55 inch 4k 6 serious Samsung TV and it simply won't connect via HDMI to my Xbox one s and I don't know how to fix it. I've connected my Xbox to a 40 inch 1080p Roku TV and it worked fine. I just want to play Xbox. I've even tried different HDMI cables

You don't need xbox one s for a 4k, X1 already has it as well. You just need the 4k cord.

+Gamer Guy 82 (Gamer 82) then maybe you don't need to use UHD.video setting all tv are different. So if you have all the check marks then you tv is 4k/HDR ready

please I need so help or advice,I have the Xbox one s and a lg uhd 4k tv with a 120 hz refresh rate.i hooked everything up and I'm getting all green check mark except it tells me my TV doesn't have 50 hz refresh rate,so I can't play 4k movies.this makes no sense it say I have 60 hz.i have 24 hz but not 50 hz.please what am I doing or not understanding. Badie DL-x no, not if you want it to upscale to 4k, HDMI 1.4 doesn't have the bandwidth, use the HDMI that came with the console, HDMI 2.0
