The most interesting thing about this episode is that it shows how far South Korea has come in the last 70 years. This generation has forgotten when human waste was used to fertilize the rice fields. It still is used in North Korea and the government there has a daily quota that each citizen must fulfill or face strict punishment. This is a particular kind of Catch 22 hell because the people in the countryside don't get enough to eat in order to fill the quota.
