One month update: No engine light.
My engine light did come on when i removed the intake and put it back on for another repair. It's important to use witness marks! Fixed that issue and the light is off.
The only issue I had was one of the clamps was rubbing on the battery cables, and I just had to spin it around.
The increased rev hang was actually caused by engine insulation above the intake. If you have engine insulation, you really should either remove it or cut it.

What do you mean by engine insulation? I that the foam underneath the engine cover?

If you get rear-ended, that plate on your dash becomes a guillotine. Dangerous and illegal.

Hence the 3ml thick rubber cover around it. The cover is designed for displaying plates in the dash.
