    Kipchoge didn't break the record, because it wasn't in an official race and the pacers were able to jump in and weren't there from the start, also the shoes were already banned, it just didn't matter since Ineos and Eliud weren't trying to beat a record, but only trying to show that it's possible.

    I got my first pair of Adidas running shoes when I was in 6th grade in 1967 and have mostly worn running shoes ever since. I don't care if the shoe is banned from competitions. The last time I was in a running race was an inter-company sports competition out at the YMCA camp and they made me to be the runner - in the late 1980s. I use running shoes for day to day life, but I would also like a nice pair of running shoes for when I go running for exercise in my neighborhood. If these shoes are super comfortable, fun to use, and durable, that is what is important to me.

    Same Rules exist for Trail Running top body on stack height and now how deep the lugs are as well as how deep the spikes/slip-on spikes pr cleats/slip on metal cleats are due to some runners modifying the slip-on spikes that use replicable pin spikes for ice with massive spikes in the form of nails that are over the length of a track and field javelin spike. The other rules are how deep the built in lugs can be, no longer then what a javelin spike size is and then the runner could not use any spikes on the shoe. This came as Innov-8 they had a pair of running shoes with rubber USA/Canada football cleats on them for some trail running/fell running events and then some elite runners using in shorter trail events spikes that are used by javelin throwers on beefier models of cross country shoes.

    • @sloesty
      @sloesty Před 7 měsíci +17

      @@grey5135 Barefoot running promotes good form and thus in theory should lead to less knee injuries, as opposed to shoes which allow for heal striking and overstriding.
      Running inherently isn't a bad sport for your knees, as your entire legs and back help absorb the shock. It is only when you overstride that you put too much load on your knees.
      Plus, like anything new, if you start of barefoot, you need to take it slow because you will run different and engage muscle groups that haven't been used ever (anything related to feet muscles).

    I have both and the 1st version is 10 times better
    The platform is wider but the shoe itself is tighter and more narrow.
    Tge two carbon plates are cool in concept but doesnt work as the shoe is so stiff there is major heel slippage no matter how tigh you tie them down. The lacing system is awful and gives very little lockdown and the laces should be wider or have some minor padding on the tongue as these give some serious lace bite if you tie them snug. Also the plastic eye loops at yhe top dig into the foot if you tiw them too tight trying to get that lockdown.
    I love adidas making these shoes this version is just not as good as the first. Much heavier, yes more stable the ride feel is not as bouncy as the initial version and once you his the 13km mark you really feel the weight of these.
    I hope they do a combination of this and version 1 for version 3.
    These shoes are the "What if?" By adidas... what if there were no regulations and you can make the craziest supershoe... etc...

    I dont understand why people want such thick soles with so much cushion, it actually makes your feet and leg muscles really weak. Along with posture issues. After I went barefoot shoes, I never looked back

      i think there is a balance but truth to what you say. my knees feel weird or weak when i wear those high stack trail shoes from new balance but too little cushion an my ankles end up hurting.

    Doesn't Gerda Steyn run in these? The record holder for multiple ultra marathons in South Africa. I guess that's why she doesn't compete internationally.

    If these shoes help a casual runner to run and finish a half marathon or a full marathon finishing it far away from the first ones, it worth it. No harm done because the dont compete just themselves.

    So someone did something that gave them the record so then they banned that technique but kept the record. So then how is the record supposed to be beaten if wearing a special shoe is now considered cheating?

    these shoes tho illegal are actually very good for daily runners and high level athletes. Shoes are the base of support for the biomechanics of running and have the greatest impact. These shoes made by nike and adidas would be great to help minimise injury and overtraining athletes. If you don't run competitively is it illegal to wear, and would having them cause a negative outcome?
