The other day, a friend visited my house and we discussed which sneakers were essential if I could only keep five. After some thought, I narrowed it down to five categories: the active, the daily, the beater, the fancy, and the substitute.
The active shoe needs to be versatile, comfortable, and performance-based. My pick for this is the Adidas Ultraboost due to its all-round functionality.
The daily is the shoe you wear every day, so it has to be comfortable, durable, and easy to put on. My pick is the Yeezy 700 for its versatility and quality.
The beater is the shoe you wear when you’re expecting it to get dirty. It should be affordable, durable, and easy to replace. I use And1s and Notwoways shoes as my beaters.
The fancy is a shoe that can be dressed up for special events. My pick is the Ecco Ral7000studio sneaker.
The substitute is a versatile shoe that can fit into any category when needed. My pick for this is the Jordan 1, a shoe that can adapt to any situation.

Here's the missing Factor... The long-handled shoehorn. This makes a hard pair of shoes very easy to put on and is a game changer. Out of all the sneaker content I've never heard anyone bring up a shoehorn

It gotta be the yeezy foam runners for beat, nike alphaflys for sports, jordan 4 sail for daily and louis vuitton trainer for fancy. Also ugg tasman hybrid for snowy days
I don’t know what kind of athletics you are doing but alphaflys or any other carbon plate shoe are really only meant for racing long distance in, not for daily running or working out.

Yeah actual dress shoes, OR those all leather solid color plain "sneakers" that so many brands make. They're usually all black, or all white, and low top. Those legitimately work well with dress clothes.

These 5 categories really do make the most sense, excluding the "utility" category that would include shoes for certain weather conditions like boots for snow, or heavy rain. Or work boots/shoes, and shoes for specific sports or activities.

My fancy shoe is the Yeezy tactical boot. If you are hitting a club that doesn't allow trainers, it works but it also is great for running, walking or whatever. It could also work as the substitute

Now it made me wonder out my whole sneaker collection what would be my pick if I only had to wear 1 shoe. Like the 5 categories is hard for me to choose but when I think of only one shoe I draw myself into the Yeezy 500 high, my pair is the slates and I’ve had them for 5 years and 2 years they were my daily’s and man they were so easy to throw on and also versatile because it was warm but also breathable. It’s strange because I have more comfortable shoes like the Nike invincible fly runs and the Yeezy 380s but something about the Yeezy 500 highs are just so easy to throw on and put with almost anything.
