They look so white/silvery out west compared to the green/black pickles we catch in the great lakes region.
Good show. Detroit river walleye fisher here. If you get a chance you have to hit it once in your life during the spring run. Limits in 20 minutes and catch them all day for fun. Some big ol sows too.
Great vid! I know it’s hard but don’t set the hook when trolling for walleye (not like Bass fishing). You will pull the hook out, almost every time. You may want to also get an 8’-8’.6” rod with a parabolic tip (the last 3rd of the rod is really flexible and the walleye doesn’t know it is hooked until it is too late). Just a couple of tips from a guy chasing eyes for 30 years. 🇨🇦

If they have splotches on the body and spots on the dorsal fin they are sauger not walleye. Great video tho keep it up!

He is using braid. Thats the sound you hear.
There’s 4 and 8 strand braid. the 8 is a little softer so you don’t hear it as much but you’ll always hear it. But definitely do more walleye videos!!
