I blame the car companies, when they show their cars doing things that cars shouldn't be doing, everyone thinks "oh, I can do that and more!". This is a car, not a truck and should be treated as such, but people instantly think they have some huge monster truck and it can go through everything.

I do a simmular trick all the time with old tire chains. I have several sets of old bar guards that don't fit anything. The trick is to lay them out in front of or behind the wheel and ram them in between the ground and the tire to get them started. I usually use a snow shovel handle to ram them in(stuck cars tend to attract snow shovels).

  • @BM-PC_Gamer

I had the same problem. I just got the renegade and first time in snow took turn too fast and slid into plowed snow. Just one tire off in the plowed mound and was stuck. I had to wait for truck to pull me out. Like others have said, those street tires they come with are lousy on snow. I just had Pirelli All Terrain plus 225/65/R17 tires put on my latitude and they fit fine and I have a little more ground clearance. Plan to also get some traction boards just in case.

Buy a set of chains. That way you can just put them on when you're going to hit a snowy trail like this one, rather than having to get out once you're already stuck and try to fight with the back and forth moving those things around. The boards are handy for when you get into something unexpected, but if you're knowingly going into a snowy less traveled road slap the chains on and away you go 😎

I can’t stand my Jeep. I have a 2016 Trailhawk edition. You can’t get off road tires for the Renegades. The wheel arches are too small. I have BF Goodrich All Terrain TAs on our Honda Element for crying out loud. The Element is a way better vehicle than the crap Jeep. The Jeep left my wife stranded on the highway with less than 12,000 miles and only about 1 year old, because the main main cooling fan failed and the vehicle overheated. The window seals whistle at highway speeds, the center air vent doesn’t put out hardly any air, the E-brake turns on by itself randomly (with or without the seatbelt on) the radio shuts off randomly while driving, the blue tooth is horrific, the wipers work inconsistently front and rear. Then there is the air bag issue, it tells you it needs to be serviced and so does the E-brake. The seatbelt alarm comes on while driving down the highway and I’m wearing the seatbelt. The front left speaker blew after 10,000 miles and no, I don’t blast the radio. The 4 wheel drive is horrible in the snow and ice assuming it will even turn on. Mine shut off on the last big snow we got a few weeks ago and would not turn back on. The down hill assist also quit working. The sunroof opens fine but is super sluggish to close. The remote start stopped working for a few weeks to top it off. This has got to be the worst car I have ever owned and I’ve owned three Fords that were pretty bad. You couldn’t pay me to take another POS Jeep. This vehicle is an absolute joke.

Why do all vehicles these days look the same? There's nothing special here. Whatever happened to the good old days when a Jeep was a Jeep and didn't look like a Honda or about 10 other vehicle boxes that I can name. Honestly people, all these modern SUV'S look the same.
