    Are you intrigued by the approaches taken to the #100dayprojects and wonder how to make the most of the ideas shared?
    In this video I share my 100dayproject for 2023 which is all about creating small collage works. I also share my top tips for tackling these types of projects-they should come in handy for any self directed art project.
    This is my second time doing the 100dayproject. I also did it last year and created 100 pastel and ink works in my sketchbook. You can see that video (within my sketchbooks playlist) here:

    It is nice to hear you talk about the tiny details noticed while gluing bits down. A continuation of a line or a shape makes my heart skip a beat!

      Thanks Margaret - I’m so glad the discussions had that effect! Sometimes it’s the tiny details that make a piece special!

      Thanks Deborah glad it was helpful. I think these projects do give some unexpected returns on investment of time. It’s closely related to but different to painting. The swapping and changing of pieces and the ‘what ifs’ is quite instructive too!

    Thanks Liz. A reminder for me to get some more Gelli prints organized before camping as these sized projects are fun to do while traveling as well. Maybe 1 a day relating to where we are camped.

      Hi Anna You are welcome- yes getting materials ready for travelling is a must- yes that’s a good idea -it’s nice to have your art charting your travels!- good luck with it.

    In my first art class as an adult we sometimes did collage and I hated it because I had no idea what to do,- how to choose and arrange. I find it ironic I now use collage a lot, but always with paint under or over. Pure collage would be good for me to try again.

      Hi Karla yes it would because it’s quite different. I too use collage a lot but I’ve not used it like this before. The trick is to have a wide variety of papers- including with marks and lines and different patterns as well as neutrals and plain.

    🎉 Thank you, it's super inspiring & helpful to hear your thought process as you create a layout..I'm going to begin with a 2wk daily challenge now. Do you use your own torn work (esp.for the black &white line scraps )or is most of them found/magazine ephemera?

    • @LizAckerley
      @LizAckerley  Před rokem

      Hi Ellen I’m glad you enjoyed the video and great you are going to do your own challenge. Yes I mostly use my own work as shared at the beginning of the video, at least for this challenge. It’s easy and quite fun to make black and white mark making sheets ( as I show in my making your mark course)
