This video describes the features of our new Stainless Steel Distiller. It can be used to make distilled water, essential oils and more.
Here are a few of the key points:
The entire still is 100% food grade, 304 stainless steel.
It's an 8 gallon Boiler with a 2 piece column / condenser. The column and condenser both fit inside the boiler.
The boiler includes a fitting for an electric heating element as well as a 1/2" NPT fitting for a stainless steel thermometer. These items are optional.
The domed lid includes a fitting for a 5psi safety pressure relief valve, which comes with the still. It also includes a fitting for a pressure gauge, which allows distillers to keep an eye on pressure during distillation runs.
Additionally, the column is compatible with Clawhammer's unique column thermometer adapter, which includes a 1/2" NPT fitting for installing vapor thermometer.
The condenser includes 5/8" barbed fittings which are sized perfectly for garden hose. The outlet is built with a barbed fitting which is compatible with heavy duty, heat resistant silicone hose.
Please be advised that distilling alcohol is illegal without a federal fuel alcohol or distilled spirit plant permit as well as relevant state and local permits. Dude you look exactly like Dennis from always sunny in Philadelphia
It is Dennis from It is always sunny in Philidelphia.... Small world
Just want to see it working, "water destination", any vid on that?
I can find anything on how to assemble the electric heating element. You said you'd be making a video on that? Please help
Can you use the 120v controller and parts from the Brew system on the distiller?
??? I go camping a lot would it be good for distuid water for drinking we always need water for something
yes sir you have me sold on this one thank you for this
Does the heating element come in direct contact with the liquid?
do you have the cooling hoses
Do you have bigger pot ? I'm looking for 100 liter pot.
Do you ship to Singapore or Malaysia..?
Can i use this to extract essential oil?
Super sweet!!
can i also use propane to heat boiler plus electric
Good idea with that pressure release valve.
Will you deliver to South Africa?
How much of this hardware do you make your self?
I have one question, How well will this work for whiskey? being stainless not copper? wont it make the end product a little harsh?
+Dennis Lafond Pack your column with copper mesh and it does the same thing. Get rid of them pesky sulphides.
+Dennis Lafond They also sell one with the copper top.
do you all ship to nc
How much does this cost?
You don't recommend distilling grains, barley or oak in it? Then what do you distill? Just fruit and sugar wash?
He means that you should strain your mash before fermentation so its just liquid, just like with brewing.
Do you just simply clean a stainless steel stills with soap and water or do you soak in citric acid?
You can clean stainless with any number of cleansers and be fine but using something like PBW would be ideal for stainless.
Can you distill water
Do you ship overseas?
I want one with accessories, awesome
Product. How $ much
Whats the advantage of having an element inside it to just sitting it on a heat source?
well a heat source is usually an element inside of your stove OR direct fire. The problem is that you're only using one direction (above the heat source) so the rest of the energy that you're putting into your element/fire is being lost in all the other directions (around the element/fire and below it). But when you have an element inside of your liquid you won't lose heat to the other sides because your liquid is surrounding your heat source.
The boiler includes a fitting for an electric heating element ? ........
1 : the electric resistance is submerged in alcohol for a future gin?
2 : there is no danger?
thanks for your reply
1857 Spezial Bier
The alcohol content in the boiler will most likely never exceed 15%.
It’s doubtful it’s more dangerous than stilling on an open flame.
Doesn't being all stainless create a bad sulfur smell when distilling?
If you put copper mesh in the column or if the condenser inner tubes are copper this would be alleviated. Personally I'm a all copper guy for the same reasons.
Are the gaskets silicone or Teflon? Look Teflon to me. Nice little unit.
+Naked Acres Did you even watch the video? He says its a High temp food grade Silicone Gasket.
food grade silicon gaskets are platinum treated to make them essentially unreactive. id like an option for cork gaskets to eliminate the possibility of any synthetic materials leaching into my shine.
I don't understand how the water hoses that are to be added to the extension work? Is that extension entirely hollow, or are there two chambers for the water circulation... One side for the water to circulate and the other side for the vapor? Has anyone tried this and know how well it cools to form the liquid?
Hey Byron, Yes, there are 2 separate chambers. Cooling water and still vapor do not mix.
There's a smaller tube inside the large tube. Hook a cold water supply to the bottom hookup and the water will come out the top as hot water. You can take a cooler with ice water and a pump and circulate the water during distilling.
Any cheaper models? 499 kinda pricey for me
what about temps....ive always used a thermomater at the top to tell when im runnin into my tails and see my steady temps...i dont see how a temp gauge is optional
+chris Rose Wonder the same thing. You do need a thermometer !!
Hahahaha! I guess your attention span didn't make it to 6:07.
It's also good to know what temperature to hold for burning off those nasty heads. 155 to 165 and let her run till she stops producing. Throw away the nasty shit and crank her up to 179 or maybe a little higher, find that sweet spot and let her run. That ought get rid of the good stuff..LOL Then crank her up on high and run yourself some good window cleaner.
@@diregremo they were speaking of head temperature, It needs one up top to measure vapor coming off “the point of no return back to the boiler”
I don't know, Dennis Reynolds, why should I buy your distillery?
could you use the hot plate adapter on a wood cookstove ?
or on the top of the steel drum on a rocket stove?
Distilling is the new brewing
Where are these stills made? Please tell me the USA.
It is probably China since he did not reply.
I the grain blocks the column, it will block the safety valve too..
The safety valve is on the lid a couple inches away from the column. If one gets blocked, the other is clear.
Go to milehigh and get the whole kit ready to start distilling
Would you call this a Reflux unit?
No
You don't need a safety relief valve on an open system
He explained that it was a safety measure in case something got clogged up or kinked. Under ideal circumstances youre right.
I wish it was a little bit cheaper
theres no copper thats dangerous do to sulfur
and the cost is only $9000 US dollars...
Are you high? 500$ minimum 1,500$ with literally every accessory.
Why are you making up random lies for no reason?
the plastic peice is the only reason i dont buy ! Hot plastic dont taste good
do you have the cooling hoses
