If you plan on keeping the stock cluster, keep the electronic side of the ABS, throw away just the hydraulic part. If you don't have rear speed sensors, you can repin the connector and put the front signal wires where the rear would be, that way you can have speed and mileage on your cluster, no matter what rear end you running.
How do you get the ls ecu to accept a vss vehicle speed sensor reading from the bmw?

You could try C5 or C6 exhaust manifolds. They’re built for tight spaces and have a slightly longer collector

Forward facing headers are gonna suck for the serpentine belt routing but it's so worth it. I hid a whole muffler in my front bumper so I could dump exhaust put the side of the front bumper.
Sachs peformance clutches are the best! my clutch was rated at 400NM+ still holding strong after a year of 520NM

G8 GT manifolds on his 6.2 with stock heads and made mid 400s rwhp. Maybe hit him up to see if he still has them. They fit a miata so maybe they will fit a bmw. He did pick up significant power with longtubes.

The 6 speeds are good for a decent amount the small 5 speeds are like 500 hp max

I order the same motor mounts lol like 3 or 4 montha ago. I'm still waiting on mine. And for clutch I went with act disc and spec pressure plate from the boys at drift hq which should be good for 600 crank. So if you guys burn through that clutch it's a good opinion

The zf trans from the e39 530d can take e beating and hold alot of tourqe. We use it alot here in norway👌👌

Derek hit the nail on the head about LS swaps nickel and diming you the entire time. Don't blame you at all for using the factory manifolds. Had exhaust not been the first thing I ordered for mine I'd probably have gone factory too.

Headers for that car with the space is a nightmare bhall!!!!! That thing will rip plenty with stock ramhorns!!!! Block huggers would help but you still would have to clearance somewhere.. she looks awesome dude
you need a heavy duty rear end in order to hold that power. M3 or SLG axles.

Front plate the motor in so easy and works awesome
I had an unsprung expensive clutch disk in my E36 328is NA build and I would have to spin the tires just to get the car to move from a stop, there was no soft engagement and the clutch disk only lasted 38k miles 😆, next clutch was a heavy duty sprung 6 puck ACT and it was 100x better and less stressful to drive.

The biggest deal with the headers won't be power. It's going to back pressure. Back pressure leads to more heat under hood. I'd plan to add vents for heat management or at least help with getting heat out.

On the mention of manifolds, Taylor made plenty of power on his g8 manifolds on hi ls mx5 so plenty of room on the factory manifolds.
The zf trans is a nice transmission
the euro 328/m3 (s5d 320z) gearbox did blow out the bottomstock att 1108 wnm in hub dyno. so the small ZF gearbox is great for Big Power.
Any idea on how one would get a vehicle speed sensor pulse from this bmw to the ls ecu that the ls ecu can interpret? Not necessarily for the cluster but so the ls ecu is getting that dignal for the idle and other changes it makes from the vss signal?

If that pressure plate is sre -243 it should hold closer to 600lbft with that clutch plate. Also there is 10% safety margin :D

If you dont use the little pin the slave cylinder hits the clutch plate a channel called diff auto uses thus set for an e30 and he didn't upgrade it at first
