"Got rid of the noise...?" That 'noise' brought you a nice job project. It's the sound of money and sports joy. Grassy 'throwback' idea is a great one.
That is a cool idea for the track. Id like to see more horse and auto racing tracks do this. The green area is always exciting on the infield, not to mention, the grass is infinitely more comfortable to stand and sit on for hours. As a DIYer, it looks like a pretty challenging grade with weird camber, and I cant imagine how tough it is to get that to where its picture perfect every weekend they race there. I bet the irrigation and coding/ordinance alone are massive. Looks good. Thanks for explaining the process. Id love to have an oval at my place one day.
For thirty years I used to live close to the Laguna seca raceway. It was a common thing to hear cars practicing! You could always tell when they were running a vintage race as the cars ran open headers and were loud! The new turbo cars were quite a bit quieter!!
Dennis, thanks for taking us along for a ride. It looks like it turned out real nice. You work on some interesting projects. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
It looks very nice but it's too bad that a lack of ticket sales have lead to this. They don't want the empty seats to be seen so they cover them with advertising and tear them out to put in grass. This may be better in the long run.
You definitely are a good operator to work in that environment with the slope and retaining wall below. A careless operator could have made a mess of it and hurt himself or others. Good Job!
Build a lawn seating area sloped to a 6’ drop with no railing. Well thought out by management. Bravo gentlemen, the lawsuit will be the death of that track.
Looks great. What a cool job to know you were part of that. I hope they put up some kind of fence at the bottom wall so people or kids don't fall over it.
I'm worried though NASCAR'S date for Martinsville. Spring and Fall is the seasons for the 2 races. Both have been common for cold temperature races recently. NASCAR might have to move the spring race to summer time. Also when it rains the ground will be wet and muddy.
Boogiddy Boogiddy Boogiddy- let’s go racing! Another fine job by Dennis and family. Hope that you, your wife and boys have a great Christmas! The boys are at that age where they want Santy Claus to bring them new ATV’s?
That looked like it was challenging grading job and you did a great job turning chicken salad out of chicken dropping and while I think the concept is flawed that is no reflection upon the work you did. I understand the basic overall and that is Well this is an ito try and make the stands at the track not look so empty on TV. That said I personally think the idea is kind of silly and the grassy area will quickly become a muddy mess as people walk upon it. Lastly for as long as I have been going to races tracks have always tried keeping fans away from the fence or moving along incase a car(s) lose control and get into the fence. Having gone to over 100 Cup races and almost that many Bush/Xfinity races and over 50 truck races as well as over 1000 short track races and haven been hit and injured by debris from cars getting into the fence I long ago learned that the best seats in the house were not at “track level” but rather 15 to 30 rows up (or more) because you can see more of the cars on the track, the fumes from the cars are not as bad, and there is less chance of getting hit with debris. But what do I know I am just a fan who loves to go to races and not some “idea man” for the France family. I wish them well on this project but will never have any interest sitting on the grass at Martinsville watching the race the same as going to the Cup dirt race at Bristol.
I hope drunk people don't look at that long strip of nicely sized throwable objects and think; "Hmm, I wonder what would happen...", or a fight breaks out; "Oh look, weapons!".
NASCAR ruined the look of the speedway and took away the best seats and all the great azaleas that used to be around the track. Glad you like it but it looks awful to me.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a stupid idea??? You guys did a great job and it looks fantastic but grass seating at a NASCAR track this close to the track? Yes Im aware there are other tracks that have grass but this just seems like a bad idea.
LOOK FOLKS THERES A REASON THAT YOU DO NOT SEE MANY PEOPLE SIT CLOSE TO THE TRACK, YOU WOULD NOT BELIVE HOW MUCH TIRE GRIT DIRT AND DUST FLYS INTO THE LOWER SEATS, CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW MUCH TRASH IS BLOWN ON THE TRACK FROM FOLKS SITTING IN THE GRASS, WASTE OF MONEY

Sorry still don’t like the noise

How many drunks will roll down that hill and fall between the fence and retaining wall?
Haha
You won't be allowed on the "green" area.
Looking only.
Damn....would have been fun to watch..
@@philup6274 Source? He says to his understanding they’re still gonna sell tickets to setup blankets and chairs
That’s more of an incentive to buy tickets than the race itself.

Looks great Dennis 👍🏻 to all the people that made it happen.
Happy Holidays
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
I think NASCAR needs to provide free beer to get people to come LOL
Can’t wait to see it finished def a good move by nascar
When the circus attendance is down, they change the show. When NASCAR attendance is down, they change the seating.
slap a tv on the backstretch, take out the rv parking to make a roval, and now this lmfao
Dennis, thanks for taking us along for a ride. It looks like it turned out real nice. You work on some interesting projects. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

What a stupid idea.

Your right they have removed hundreds of seats because it looks bad on tv when they aren’t full.
Its going to look nice when its all finished. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks Merry Christmas!
It’s a nice solution for disguising the decreasing attendance to the NASCAR events.
Your right

There will be a fence there
Contant just keeps getting better. Really enjoy this channel!
Glad you enjoy it!
Nice grade work electronics are awesome especially in a tight spot like that. Clay from mobile Alabama
Thanks 👍
I love dozer work of almost any kind, but this entire video and what you are doing is very interesting!
Thanks!
Hands down one of my favorite tracks! Tied for first with Bristol!
Morning Dennis that's a big job looks great. Merry Christmas Happy NewYear
Thanks Merry Christmas!
Looks good ! To bad Nascar is on life support.
Great job Dennis it looked amazing
Thanks!
Your welcome
Looks great. What a cool job to know you were part of that. I hope they put up some kind of fence at the bottom wall so people or kids don't fall over it.
I think they did put up a fence
Awesome job Merry Christmas
Thanks!
Looks great! That was a big sod job.
Thanks! Yeah I’m glad we didn’t have to roll the sod out.
I sodded entire football fields as a summer job when I was in high school.
👍👍👍

Interesting choice they made knocking out a section of grandstand, I’m sure it’ll be a lot cooler without all that hot concrete in the green area
I live 5 mins from the track.....always sat in turn 1, hate to see them take it down but it looks Damm good
Repurposing the stands, pretty way of saying lower crowd turnout.
You are part of Martinsville speedway history, I think that's awesome.
Yeah I guess we are
Good Morning Dennis, nice work, Merry Christmas to all of you❄️🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Merry Christmas!
Good video.
Thanks!

Shoot they both already got Atv’s. Running out of ideas for Christmas haha
@@DLHFarms I knew the oldest one had one but wasn’t sure about the younger boy. It gets harder for Santa every year!
We got the oldest a little bigger one and gave the small one to little brother.
I quit watching NASCAR years ago, I like watching real stock cars, So IMSA is where its at. Plus they make right and left hand turns. Ron
I don’t watch any racing anymore
NASCAR... Get that money son... It won't be there much longer.
Great video great job keep the videos coming Merry Christmas to you all 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks! Merry Christmas
I keep waiting for Gavin to pop up outta one of them trenches. Dadgumit, I know he's in there somewheres. 🤣
Haha
Just like any concert outdoor amphitheater nobody will be sitting and this becomes a standing room only area
Pretty cool job -- looks nice!
Thanks
good stuff brother. next time with the drone shots you should just put some music behind it
Thanks for the tip

I understand where your coming from.
thats new to me auto blade shake and gps,
should of just made it part of the track and it would be exciting to see that be banking.
They talked about this during the race.
Cool I didn’t see it
Who knew a bulldozer sped up, sounds like a dentist drill.
Haha
Welcome back how is the family doing
Great!
I hope drunk people don't look at that long strip of nicely sized throwable objects and think; "Hmm, I wonder what would happen...", or a fight breaks out; "Oh look, weapons!".
What is a French drain?
Did they remove seats to do this?
Yes
They're trying to get back the feel when Petty and DW raced
Maybe
@Dartgame 340 I'm talking about the feeling at the track. If you look at clips from 70s and 80s. Martinsville didn't have grandstands to the fence.
Hail Melon part II. The green space will eventually give rise to watermelons....
Bahaha
Martinsville did the green area for 2 reason tax refund and not get the crowds like they used too . so you dont have a lot of empty seats on Tv
I know the empty seats on tv reason to be true. Don’t know about the tax break.
@@DLHFarms yep if create a green space to off set the pollution that is created from your business, you can get a tax break.
The sped up bits sound like you’re at the dentist’s office
Haha
This is what you do when people don’t come and your embarrassing yourself, remove seats so it looks good.

No I don’t understand either but it’s what they wanted to do.
Is it intended that people would sit in a circle worshipping Gaia and watch electric vehicles 'race'?
Haha

Put your camera on a gimbal mount that stays level then it will show it
