How far can you leave your iPhone and still be able to receive calls and WhatsApp msges from your Apple Watch?
I love having a cellular model. I go to the store, gym, runs, rides, walks with the dog, and coaching my kids soccer games with only my watch. I still take my phone to work and have it at home. It has been so helpful in cutting down all the time I waste on my phone. I feel sooo much better.

But how can you do all that when the battery only last 6 hours?
Obviously I don’t do all that every day lol. Gym is an hour. I only got to the store once or twice a week and I am never there long. I spend about 3 hours each week coaching, dog walks are certainly daily. What you have to understand is I am not constantly messaging or on the phone on my watch. It just allows me to be available during those activities or call my wife if I have an issue (which is usually a flat on my mountain bike). I never just have my watch for more than 3 hours. Usually it is just 1-2 hours a day. The rest of the time I do have my phone.
Hi Chris! I’m happy to hear that you are enjoying your cellular model! Currently I’m debating between the cellular and gps model. If you don’t mind me asking, I would really appreciate your feedback on the following. How much battery drain do you experience with the cellular model when Working out/walking (without iPhone nearby) and listening to music that’s downloaded to the device for 1 or 2 hours?
I have my phone on me for 95% of the time, but I do workout in the morning or walk for an hour or two. So leaving the phone behind would be interesting.

After the gym I might be down to 85% if I am using it for a solid hour plus. Ok Sunday I went 3-4 hours on cellular only. I didn’t stream any music but I did record a 30 minute bike ride outdoors and my battery was 30-40% at bed time.

I use the watch in cellular mode when I go for outdoor exercises and it can get rather inconvenient to bring my phone around. Even in the gym it is also more convenient to not have your phone with you while working out.
yes! especially at the gym, you don't have to carry & put your phone down on dirty gym areas
Such a great episode, Shervin. I have an Apple Watch SE and routinely leave my phone at home. If anyone is still debating getting a cellular Apple Watch, honestly do the right thing and buy one! You’ll feel so much more relaxed when you’re out and about!

•No camera
•No WhatsApp (unless you’re replying to notification)
•Limited email access and ability to reply (due to small screen and having to dictate the message)
•No Facebook app
•No Twitter app (although I’ve downloaded 3rd party chirp app)
•About 6-10 hours use on cellular depending on screen on time

I’m always amazed at those individuals who can not only absorb the unreasonably and prodigiously high cost of New York City living, and still manage to have expensive possessions, a phone plan with an Apple Watch plan, and still shop, eat out, and have a gym membership. I just ate out at a restaurant (Outback) with my longtime girlfriend for the first time in two years, and we had to budget for that.

Wristcam is doing alright for the minor need of photo/video taking. So they're definitely coming out with options to keep things going. Plus small charging packs that fit on your key ring is available to charge on the go. Just need to get more support for certain apps and one may have a good go at an all day outing without a phone.

I just got the 8 on cellular from Verizon. And I’ve got to say the battery life is amazing going from a 3. Just using cell I could go maybe two hours. Now it’s like 6!

i love my apple watch! i can feel you for the power reserve, i can’t get to know my steps! it was soo annoying i’ve walked about 15k steps that day and it only shown 756 steps i was agitated but i did had my phone with me so it said 15,034 other than the battery and power reserve, i haven’t been on my phone soo much!
I absolutely love having only my apple watch cellular on me- during my work in a hospital so that I don’t miss important private calls or messages- during outdoor activities for navigation and music- for tracking my activities and sports- during erands while listening to audiobooks or podcasts- for paying with a turn of my wrist, etc..
It is really great and so much fun, I wouldn’t want to miss it anymore.

Yep you nailed it dude. I got the cellular if I'm working out in the yard / garden, or out on an outdoor run in my shorty shorts so I don't have to worry about keeping my 12 pro max on me. I wouldn't depend on it all day, but it works great for many scenarios !
yup! those little scenarios it can be helpful! but if your WiFi router can reach into your backyard - then you might not even need cellular!!

What is the brand and the model of the glasses?
Does the iPhone need to be powered on and connected to data (location where it is connected not important) for the cellular function on Apple Watch to work? I am hearing conflicted information on this.
iPhone does not need to be powered and on for your Apple Watch Cellular plan to work - it's separate cellular device & plan
but... if you're using Apple Watch on WiFi with no Cellular and want to use SMS & phone calls from your iPhone when you're away but with Watch WiFi - then yes you need your iPhone on

haven't watched your other vids yet... but deep in the apple health you can see your HRV and look at resting heart rate to extrapolate the same method that whoop uses. I do this now after having my whoop for a bit. and returned my whoop after learning what I need from the device

Best one I've seen about this topic. I am thinking now if I should just move all calls to an Apple Watch and just use the phone for Internet only activities. Anyone tried this? I think I'll save money on monthly fees for the phone if I just have the Apple Watch for calling and texting.

What I learned from this video is that you have money to spend on things that you don't need and a lot of free time to do nothing
So basically you don't even need to interact with people, it's the perfect marriage, you and your apple watch
I tried going out without the phone and it works pretty good for most situations and is really nice for skateboarding and hiking etc. The main problem is I watch CZcams videos more than listen to music and sometimes doing things isn’t as easy or possible on the watch so I need my phone more than I want to need it. It is very freeing to ditch the phone and still stay connected and available by phone/text for important clients etc but yeah it’s really not practical for me to ditch the phone for more than a few hours yet.
yes I hope we can get to that point! I like that somethings aren't easy because it "forces" you to use the technology less

I have my scroll wheel on my Apple Watch up is it supposed to be down?
No I just wear it on my right hand. So I flipped it so that the wheel is facing my wrist like it does for you on your left hand.
