  • The first-ever #MazdaCX70 has arrived and think of this car as the edgier and sportier 2-row version of the flagship #CX90. The #CX70 will also launch as the #CX70PHEV and it will offer up to 26 miles of EV only range and nearly as much power as the #CX70TurboS.

Recently added a CX30 and CX50 to my fleet. Spoke to the salesman about how well CX90 is selling and he said it wasn't selling well at all. That will most likely be how CX70 will be performing, not very well at all. It's the same size as CX90, which is gigantic. large cars like these are niche already, but add to that CX90 costs too close to the actual luxury brands. Mazda is supposed to market the area between economic brands and luxury brands, but it's trying to compete with the luxury brands. Mazda is great quality for how much it costs but when it costs as much as luxury brands then it falls short. For example, the CX90 I saw sitting in the Mazda showroom had manual seat adjustments for the 2nd row.

I don’t understand why they just remade a CX-90 with less seats (beyond capitalizing on the same platform). I have the first CX5 (2013) and I have been waiting for a mid-size. So with the now confusing naming conventions, they used to have CX3, CX5, CX7, CX9… then once they release the CX90 and then the CX-50, I discovered the naming protocols didn’t adhere to anything specific. So the CX-50 I expected to be an off-road CX5… it kind of is, but it’s smaller than desired. Then the CX-90 is basically just a fancier CX9. The CX-70 I expected to be in between CX-50 and CX-90… Nope. Just CX-90 with less seats, more expensive trim and different engine options (PHEV or electric assist). I may still go for a CX-70, but I am still a bit annoyed it’s not outdoor focused and not in between sizes. Still a fan of Mazda engineering, but Why of why aren’t they making a CX-70 that’s a bigger version of the CX-50 or at last an actual mid-size? Missing some opportunities IMHO.

Mazda USA is really clowning on us. This product is such a letdown. Not only is it just a two-row CX-90, but they made some rather questionable choices along the way. The black doorhandles and black trim make the CX-70 look less premium. What are they smoking at Mazda USA corporate offices? Also, THANK YOU Sofyan for calling this a large SUV. I'm tired of manufacturers in North America trying to market 200"+ crossovers as "midsize".

I was hoping this would be a shorter version of the CX90. It's too long and has no spare tire. My 2019 CX5 has a spare that I needed recently after a blow out on the highway that rendered the tire unrepairable. For me, no spare means no sale.

I looked at a CX70, its not in the X5 league which I almost bought, and not in the league of a RX either.. The CX has a lot more plastic inside.. and the X5 which I like a lot, is far superior in almost every way. The X5 is way faster, handles better, many more options available.. but also much more $$$... The RX is far nicer on the road, very quiet, and has a much more luxury feel, better sound system, but again also more $$.... the RX350 models are gutless... The RX500h is quick, but not as quick as the BMW......... The CX is a little larger inside than the RX. I am looking at one and considering as my wife wants to trader her 2020 Rav 4 limited hybrid... The CX70 is a lot nicer than my wifes Rav 4, and larger... I will say that. I think its decent value for the $$

Because of how it's being marketed, the CX-70 is one of the most confusing new vehicles on sale. Mazda could've and should've just given us the CX-80 and offered it as a two-row vehicle only in the US since it's a smaller vehicle proportionally compared to the CX-90 as it is 4 feet shorter. It literally makes no sense in my mind to pay more for most of the trims of the CX-70 when all it is is a CX-90 with a third-row delete and blacked-out trim along with different exterior/interior colors. This is very lazy on Mazda's part.

Definitely a miss on Mazda's part on a vehicle they didn't really need especially if they didn't have the budget to create a should have been mid sized suv comparable to the CX50 or BMW X3-X5. People shouldn't be fooled as this vehicle is just the CX90 with the 3rd row seats removed, a cheap minded idea that should have been laughed at by Mazda executives regardless of the savings touted. This decision will definitely make Mazda pay dearly in bad press and poor customer satisfaction comparable to real mid sized suv's that share very little if any with their bigger counterparts. Mazda should have just waited to get the funds to design from scratch a vehicle with its own identity rather then trotting out a pretentious mid sized suv that's really just a CX90 which they could have just gave the CX90 the option to have a 3rd row seat delete or a sportier version rather then a new model name. The weight of this vehicle is a issue and the size too big for those who prefer the vehicles that are supposed to be in this category. Definitely a small crowd Mazda is trying to please that I just think won't pay off in the end. Mazda being BOLD is a politically correct understatement, being unnecessarily obtuse is probably a better categorization ✌🏽🇺🇲
