Fitting tribute, I go all the way back to when Jerry was on WCAM in Camden, NJ and I lived in Manayunk on Baker Street. I'd have him on the car radio parked at the curb and everybody was happy listening to the Geater. RIP
I remember the Geater with the heater, the boss with the hot sauce. Yep, that was back in South Philadelphia a very long time ago. Beautiful tribute to Jerry.
Beautiful send off with family & friends 😊 with a good sing song & 🎶 beautifully sung it brought tears of pride for the band at this time , music 🎶 was perfect & songs 😊 keep smiling 😊
It was really true that he was one the Bandstand dancers. I thought it was a myth but it was true!!! There's footage of him being interviewed by Dick Clark. He called himself The Geater even back then he was a kid.
Just saw a comment below sayimg he was interviewed on American Bandtand by Dick Clark. Found it, watched it---a small World. I would never have heard of him if I was not listening to Mummers on youtube FYi---2nd song played in this video was the absolute most popular WWII song ever!
I met Jerry eons ago when I was just a teen. I was babysitting for a couple in a high-rise apartment complex in Philly. He was sitting around the pool and was cordial to the silly teen, interrupting his privacy. I was star-struck for a while over him. "Happy trails...".
Jerry , You lead , we followed . I’m 76 living in California and still tuned in to your show .
You truly do “only” rock once . RIP 💋
What a beautiful tribute for Jerry.
Does it get more Philadelphia than this? Wonderful send off. RIP

Agreed
I ❤ love Jerry Blavat, South Philly, Mummers string bands and 60's music.

Beautiful send off for a legend. This song reminds me so much of my Dad who I lost three years ago. He was truly my buddy.

Rumor has it they buried his hair piece in a separate coffin
TROLL‼️
in your shorts
His time was over 50 years ago.
Seriously, Was that necessary, he had his radio show every week, a big music concert was coming up, and he had his club in Margate. SMH
Obviously, Tom Tom is jealous because he’s a drag, and Jerry Blavat gave us fun until right before he died.
Jim Gardner "time" afa reporting style was over a long time ago too. Did you waste time trashing him?
@@Bella-ht5jb9he3z Trolls only troll for attention.
Jealous much Tommy boy?
