In this video, Shaan explains why anxiety often causes insomnia, and what steps you can take to overcome.
Shaan's area of expertise is helping professionals overcome their anxiety and panic attacks. This is done by using a proven system that doesn't require hours and hours talk therapy, medication, or major lifestyle adjustments.
Shaan helps professionals get back to their old selves without any lingering anxiety so they can focus on their professional and personal lives. - Jak na to + styl
This guy’s approach is the only thing that works. You can’t run from this, you gotta face it and remove the fear.
I am asking myself if staying in bed ist the answere or using stimulus control I am having completly sleepless nights regulary and am losing my mind
@@booba1008 I’m know what that’s like. Insomnia is another shitty symptom of anxiety. Staying in bed is never the answer. You must move forward even in the midst of your worst symptoms.
no I mean if I can't sleep at night should I stay in bed or go to another room and use cbti techniques@@Thebaron666
this worked for me as well, before I would get out of bed and pace or journal or go look at myself in the mirror at most I would go take a pee and get back in bed no watching youtube videos no journaling or getting up to walk around to clean my room just lay there and I would get micro sleeps versus no sleep and gradually the sleep got better … and thought the same eventually if I sleep I sleep if I don’t oh well I’m so grateful to have a work from home job .. it lessens the anxiety A LITTLE BIT. I also take blood pressure meds that I tell myself make me more sleepy during the day and make the anxiety worse I just keep telling myself .. it’s temporary you’ve been here before and you’ve gotten over it before dont trip . sending everyone so much love ❤️ I’m here if anyone ever wants to talk
me too please
@nenehsambou1832 how goes a the battle I am so close but still tough
This made me feel better, thank you.🥺❤
Hey Shaan, thank you for all your good content here on YT. In this video you say it's better to stay in bed and alllow all your symptoms. In a newer video you said it's better to get out of bed, if you can't sleep. Have you a tip or more info's about that point? Thank you so much!
Its hard not being able 2 sleep. The headaches are unbearable
You really cover topics that I faced

Thank you
I am watching this video and it is me I can't sleep at all but I will try this method from now on thanks for that video Shaan
How are you know? How you managed ?
You doing better?
Can anyone suggest me a good safe sleeping pill...?
When i try to sleep of just lay down closing my eyes and let the sleep come or any thoughts come my heart pounds little bit hard or skip a beat (am not able to differentiate it) and my mind goes in alert mode makes my body jerk and wakes me up and it continues for as long as i stay in bed. I went to doctor a psychiatrist and they gave me pill i started taking that but i don't want to get dependent on it. So what should i do in that case.
Could be your adrenals are taxed…. I deal with this..
I have same simtoms
Are you sleeping now
Same symptoms here
I dudnt sleept well since more than 3 years ago...im not anxious too much ...may be it some hidden fear from future. I dunno how to fix it.
Was this insomnia after taking some medication?
I feels weakness of brain, sleep problems, panic attacks trigger while do not concentrate on topic during studies, it makes my feets panic, my whole body starts blinking, recomend some instructions should i take help from Psychotherapy or psychiatry.
I was having these symptoms too.. how are you now?
@@anfyro8059hi what’s ur insta let’s talk
This is my current situation.💔
The same here. .so frightening
What about fragmented sleep? So you fall asleep but wake up every hour or 2?
Weirdly enough as a chronic insomniac I’d kill for this. Id love to have some sort of sleep and wake up every couple of hours, isn’t it strange how we all long for something, and the facts are if we stopped we’d just be fine? 😂
Also by the way I think you aren’t understanding the video properly, you can apply the “if I sleep I sleep, If I don’t I don’t, to your situation too… just change the words… “if I get back to sleep I do, if I don’t get back to sleep, I don’t”… ?
@@eleanorrigby5759 it turned out to be a hormonal thing for me. Not producing enough progesterone to stay asleep.
@@neveshizzleim experiencing the same. what meds are you taking? I wake up every hour or two but i havent seen a doctor cos they think its just anxiety
THAT TAKES THE PRESSURE OFF@@eleanorrigby5759
Panik in bed isn't my lroblem my problem is I just can't sleel and worry of negative health outcomes because of this becwuse I have health anxiegy
Anti anxiety meds or anti depression meds not help?
I don't take any because I don't think it is a solution it only postpones the problem@@danh2310
Hypnic jerks when trying to sleep sucks so much … 😪
They go away after a while.
@@BrendaHall1 been having them for months.. 😖 but maybe its my response i have to work on
I been having it long time
@@BrendaHall1 hi Brenda, like the sleep school coach channel and Daniel Ericsson’s book details… they don’t ‘go away’ … you shouldn’t say this to someone as a response although i assume you meant well, it’s not functional or true advice. The fact is, anxiety occurs in life, for everyone, for different reasons… people with insomnia (like me) will have speed bumps, and to deny this is cruel and false. Please get off this comment section unless you’re going to think more about what you post. I’ve read about 15 posts on this video alone that are literally so damaging and untrue, just stop!
They do go away… sounds like your adrenals may be taxed, and your cortisol could be high from stress etc… natural health products can help with this… magnesium bisglycinate can help too
The wind in the background is a killer. It distracts from what you are saying
Thomas Mahoney agreed. Didn’t realize until editing. I will carry a lav mic for future outdoor videos. Let me know if you need clarification on a specific part.
@@byebyepanic I enjoyed the wind noise, because I haven't been out in the open since long because of my anxiety 😅
My only concern is insomnia
Did you resolve yours?
@@shorfan yes like what shaan have said u recover not by how u feel but by how u respond 2 anxiety
Same
@@ramshazawar3227 of all the anxiety symptoms sleep or insomnia is the scary for you?
Yes if i sleep i stay normal
Nothing new here.... chances are much will not work..but good luck
Piss off
One thing I’ve realised is, you know the nights when you’ve been up that long that you physically crash, that’s because your brain has been pushed so far, that it can not care anymore about the worries of sleeplessness… I’ve been trying really hard to remind myself of that, and that I literally can fix this by remembering to let go of the worries of how bad I’ll feel, how miserable it is etc… just like the brain eventually does whether we like it or not. Hope this helps, Eleanor, a chronic insomniac.
@eleanorrigby5759 very very true. How goes it ??
Heather3314
I can always fall asleep, but cannot sleep past 2 hours. Then I get little 10 minute snaps til around 4 am, then awake from then on. The problem is, my anxiety is getting worse without sleeping. I even take klonazepam or Ambien, and still no success. It's brutal. I am totally caffeine free, no lights, don't know what wakes me.
How long has this been going on?
Did you ever stop drinking coffee?
