I had an allergy to red dye my head itched for weeks it was horrible benadryl didn't help.
Well...when you mix purple with orange you usually get a russet brown colour. Grade school colouring 101 (or in some cases 411).
Despite the crazy cuts and crazy colors, I saw really damaged hair.
The rule is simple: short or long hair it must be healthy (not dry, not oily and so on)
I don’t get why people make Tiktoks and stick their tongue out every 5 seconds😝😂

Omg, that's the truth. I started with naturally curly hair when I was 39, just happened it is nowhere. My hair dresser said it can be trauma or being pregnant that can do it. Which made sense. But it drives me nuts, it's soooooo thick too,so it goes like a nest if I don't faf with it

My daughter had an anaphylactic reaction to hair dye (black hair dye), she was in hospital for three weeks. Her whole body was covered in blisters, even the soles of her feet were two giant blisters that she couldn't stand on, it was horrific. All started with an allergic reaction to a henna tattoo on holiday when she was 9. She was told next time she could die of anaphylactic shock if she tried to dye her hair again!
That is horrible. I heard about this before. Black Henna can do immense damage, as the ingredients that most of those "cheap holiday henna tattoists" use, contain toxic ingredients.
Dying the hair later in life can lead to another allergic shock.

I use red henna (the natural one) for my hair since years and never had issues.

Black pigments are the worst and the easiest to react to.
Black henna shouldn't even be called henna, because it's full of chemicals and not at all natural like henna's supposed to be. And that's why it can cause horrible allergic reactions and chemical burns.
I saw a girl on a morning show once that had gotten permanent scars of the "henna" tattoo she got on vacation.
And I think the same pigments that makes black "henna" is what's often is used in black hairdyes.
Bald with a bang was actually a look for all the cool guys back in the late 80’s- early 90’s can you imagine 😳

Every time I see people painstakingly curl their hair into perfect clumps only to immediately brush it into a giant frizz ball a piece of my soul dies
Nail polish remover will get those stained skin spots right out. It'll also work on any cabinets, floors (except carpet", tubs, sinks, and toilets. I don't recommend painted doors or matte finish walls because it strips the paint off. I may or may not had to repaint my bathroom door in my old apartment 😅

I had blue streaks in my hair for years, it does drop out every time you wash (the worst right after you get a refresh), but I just kept a spray bottle of bleach and sprayed down the bathtub and shower walls when I got out so that it wouldn't stain. If I didn't do that it looked like I murdered a smurf in there.

I use to have the bottom 1/3 of my very long (I can sit on it) blond hair dyed a"temporary" blue , it's all out now (after 2 years )and I'm thinking about what the next colour should be.

Using a boar bristle brush on set curls is how they achieved the 50s look. They show it on some of the retro and rockabilly tutorials on CZcams
It's been forever since I brushed my hair. In fact, I'm not sure where my brush has gone. My hair looks best when I do nothing more than a little fluffing as it dries

I went bald once. I look terrible bald. I wore scarves and headbands until my hair grew back. I had an absolute kick out of revealing it to friends and letting them laugh at how terrible it looked. Seeing that reaction was the best part of being bald

I've been working in the medical field for 21 years. After 10 years, I broke out one day in hives and severe blisters from the latex. Now I have to be very careful while working. Also just had brain surgery and had to make sure everyone at Stanford knew. I had to wear special latex allergy bracelets on both wrists.

Thanks, Hair Buddha! Years ago my daughter wanted Manic Panic bright blue I helped her and there was some left over so I thought why not. As my hair is very dark it won't show. Oh, was I wrong! To make things even STUPIDER it was my first time reading the Epistle on a Sunday in the middle of this beautiful and atmospheric Orthodox Church in Los Angeles. My daughter said the light through the cupola lit my hair up as I stood in the center- all of those old Russian ladies must have thought I had lost my mind

Yes, allergic reactions are real. I used to dye my hair frequently until one day, suddenly, I was allergic to the product. My whole upper body was covered in tiny red spots for a week. Since then, I've embraced my natural haircolor.

I had pink hair for a few months, years ago. What upkeep that was. I have Native American hair so my friend who is African American and a stylist did it for me. It was bomb.
The comment you made about the blue and purple hair, I used to dye my hair and wanted a dark auburn color. My hair is naturally a dark brown. So, knowing that my hair would not be the color on the box, I would get a medium reddish brown color that was lighter than I wanted. That way it would come out a dark auburn. 😊
I used to cut my own hair all the time. I've been growing out for a bit over a year now. But thinning shears are your best friend. If you're comfortable using a straight razor it's easier than plain shears especially of you're aiming for layers. Best advice if you're doing your own hair, learn about the tools you are using and set am entire day for it so you can spend more time. Cut a little, look a lot!!!

I love watching your reactions! Even after so many it's still hard to believe how idiotic people can be. But I really like the ones who laugh at their mistakes. The ones who annoy me the most are when they don't do things properly and then cry or freak out that it's not what they wanted.

I tell you, with the amount of abuse I have put my hair through the last 20 odd years, I am surprised I haven't yet had an allergic reaction from dye/bleach/decolours etc 👍😁

But I seriously HATE my natural hair color, because strangely enough, it actually clashes with my skintone 😅
Plus, I get bored of my hair so easily.
Soooo, if I suddenly became allergic to hair dye, I would probably buzz it all off and just wear wigs!
I dyed my hair non-stop for 10 years, let it rest for 2, and in that time not only did it go from blonde to red (caramel red) naturally, but I also became allergic to hair dye with ammonium and even with hair colour with just peroxide, I have to drench my scalp in oil in order to protect it and not have an allergi reaction. I noticed (having had allergies towards other things for a long time) that as I was walkkg home from the hair dresser, I started feeling dizzy and I could feel my lungs start becoming heavy (the way they do with asthma). When I got home I had to rinse it out twice, scrubbing my scalp, taking allergy meds a drinking water and sll the things I do when I have big allergic reactions. The only hair dye I don't react to is Tint of Nature, bc the peroxide is so low and mostly clean ingredients. So yes, it can change just like that. Be careful, guys ❤️

A few years ago I became "dangerously anemic" and had to have 3 blood transfusions. The first two were blood, the third was a "bag of iron", much smaller than the first ones and shunted in quicker too. It hadn't been going in for more than 5 minutes and I started to itch all over the arm it was going in. The nurses kept an eye on me as it was spreading over my body but my breathing was still fine. So yes, you can have a reaction to anything, at any age. Even stuff you've had many times before.
I used to dye my hair regularly and never had a problem with it turning out wrong. I stopped because my hair got very thin. I thought I was going to be bald. It stopped thinning any further, and everyone loves my natural white hair.

My grandma dyed her hair for her whole life. At least 30 years. One day, it was like any other day, and as the dye was sitting on her head all of a sudden it felt tingly she went into anaphylactic shock. Luckily my grandpa was there and got an ambulance.
Needless to say she never dyed her hair ever again. Loved loved LOVED that purple shampoo though. Lol.

When I was a kid in art classes they taught basic color theory. Orange and Purple make brown, yellow and blue make green etc.

Friends or relatives sure enjoying for helping you dye..but the result on you to live on.. Hahaha
I wish people would do even the least amount of research when choosing a hair dye product, brand AND, most importantly, color. Black IS blue based, that doesn’t mean your hair will, or rather should, turn blue. I mean, it could, but that happens when you haven’t filled in light blonde hair properly. But if you use blue based black on a deep brown that is already filled with the yellows, oranges and red tones it should have, then you’re gonna get the rich deep black you’re after. Knowledge IS power!! There can’t be a more important step to going dark from light than understanding the color wheel and filling in with the proper pigments.
My daughter's friend was a natural light baby blond( almost white) and went with a black box dye in 1 sitting, the colour was perfect but she looked rediculous with black hair, white lashes and eyebrows🤣
