That JHS dude would be super duper at Dungeons and Dragons. He really sets a scenario up great.
🧙♂️🐲🗡
"+2 to overdrive and +3 to delay? Ok, roll your saving throw..."
He's also nerdy enough for that. ;) Reminds me a bit of Dustin from Stranger Things.
I was thinking the same thing 😂🤘🏻
@@almightytreegod I was just going to develop a rock and/or roll RPG. Damn you, Hall of Canons, you made me have to develop a pedal mechanic.
There's more meat on Mick. But Dan probably tastes better. Hmmm. Thanks guys - this was AWESOME!
We had such a blast!
Thanks for filming with us!
Robert Kelley is to these cannibals what c3PO is to the EWOKS. They are both on the pit, wishing they had a D&M drive on that island!
Greatest that pedal show ever... MORE JOSH from JHS!
Haha this is awesome guys 🔥 pls do more of this please 😀
I love Mick and Dan and Jhs plus i do have D&M OD and JHS @ 🔥
So, in a life or death situation: Josh went modern blues rock, Dan went shoegaze, and Mick went srv/jimi vintage blues. I'll say this... if the island has drugs, Dan would be god. Versatility is either Mick or Josh... But if I was a starving, primitive cannibal and these three meals showed up and started playing for me I'd probably spare Dan to see if he could open a portal to more people.
Plot twist, the cannibals are metal heads. You were delicious apparently.
or deafh.
And Chappers survived.
This is BY FAR my favorite version of "desert island rig" that I have ever seen. Hats off to all three of you and especially to whoever came up with the hungry cannibal scenario. That bit really takes it to the next level hahahaha!
... Also Dan totally won with that Red Panda Tensor total fade out and back in again with the tape delay effect!
"They don't have a morning glory." ... 4 minute later plays through a double barrel. :P
🤷♂️
Ha! Didn't catch that...
😂
😂😂😂
They do have a King of Tone which blows the morning glory and double barrel's doors off.
I think Mick won because he had a Robin Trower “Bridge of Sighs” tone going on, and that’s a cool enough sound to enable you to control any crowd.
Exactly! I was digging that too!
Josh=Thanos
Josh is eaten quickly, tho. So they can resell the Klon
lol
Haha
LOL a lot...
Hahaha
Mick lives because he uses the Free the Tone/DeLorean control panel set to 141.6 ms which activates the germanium flux capacitor taking him back in time to never get on the doomed plane.
You’re a Fuckin’ genius!!!! 😂
Great Scott!
@@seescojo844 Great JOSH Scott!
What the fuck, I totally forgot about the delorean setting
You're really knocking it out of the park Josh, excellent stuff.
:)
Josh your setup is exactly what I would’ve chosen. (Pedal brands may differ a hair but same exact idea)
What a coincidence, I’ve been enjoying TPS for a couple of years now and have just recently got into the regular JHS vids too. What a great combo, thanks guys.
Fantastic! Due to the diversity out of all three of you and your tonal choices, I say you all survive! 👍🏻
This is tough. The three of you had exceptional tones.
I believe the cannibals would go for a salad today!!! :)
I look foward to watching you guys every week.Glad to know you are doing the Q and A now Great Job Gents
I'm a simple man. I see TPS and JHS. I SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON
I totally get your point my man
So down with this!
Just great and fun episode! Cheers!
15 minutes and 35 seconds, much less waffle and it equals a much more watchable video without overly feeling the need to speed though it
... Well done guys!
This was awesome! Thanks guys.
Can't believe I missed this episode Great show guys, very entertaining!
What a great fun episode. Top stuff guys😀
Too much fun! I did like Josh’s simple but warm tone. Thanks.
Cool to see you guy's togeter. All rigs were realy f*****g good! wow! But Dan's rig (the second one)was my favorite. That flange and that loop killed it.
I think Mick would be the tasty dinner (sorry Mick) and Dan would live bc of the looping. The savages would be in awe of the shoegaze tone and might even consider Dan the god of sonic mayhem.
Three great boards, I think Josh’s tone sounded exceptional. Love the gain stacking!
I liked the simplicity of Josh's rig and crazy sounds out of Dan's rig. Mick sounded great but he unfortunately will be the main dish today.
Clever set up... did not expect that kind of thing. Pretty smart !
Luv it !! Best collaboration in a long time !!
It was a blast.
Josh seems incredibly approachable and that has got to be why he has so much success in th his industry.
:)
Imagine someone in regular (old) TV coming up with such ideas. No chance. I am so thankful, guys!
I’m here for Josh’s tone.
Also, I finally realized the only way I want to use a Klon style drive now. That was everything.
LOVE Dan's ear. Also love how he goes with the JHS Super(?) Bolt but also the Red Panda Tensor. Almost like, giving Josh props but subtly throwing shade at the same time. Josh was kinda like "the cannibals won't dig it but.. it's cool..." Lol. Another cool vlog though, thanks for the content.
Pedal show heaven 🙌🏼🕸️🖤
Always a good show when you 3 get together, but nobody remembered to play the solo to David Gilmour’s ‘on an island’ ... shame
Back to back... just not an hour long. LOL This trio works! Thanks Josh.
That was a lot of fun!
Hilarious how they both somehow managed to sneak in a QuarterMaster!
My four are also my four main pedals - Big Muff, Joyo TS clone, ENO Phaser, Danelectro Milkshake Chorus. Tele through a Roland DAC-50XD with the short delay on for slapback.
Great fun, fellas! Gotta say TPS and JHS vlogs are my go-to channels for gear-related "learning-meets-entertainment" that doesn't make me want to fast-foward!
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Josh is one of my favorite people on the planet. He is the reason I started winding pickups, building amps and making my own pedals.
I think Josh has longevity with his board. Vibe>Boost>Gain>Delay never gets old.
Great video and was excited to see you all together! I loved what Mick had going on! Sorry Josh, you and Dan would have been rotisserie face to face.
The flanger pedal looks like the TARDIS, awesome sound.
I can’t believe there’s two sad souls that thumbed down!? The only thing that could make this MORE epic would be adding Andy from Reverb last week but that would probably create a rip in the space/time continuum and break the interwebz.
TideEyed_Steve agreed.
💪💪💪
Seven now, we need to send for medical help for these people, show yerselves!
...and not a Strymon in sight
As I see it, Dan and Mick didnt really convince the cannibals in the two minutes they got,(maybe the stress and fear) but I think Joey Landreth would do a rescue mission as a Canadian Police on a winged unicorn and save them. The cannibals would turn vegetarian and feast on tasty slide playing from a wet dry set up with the super and the cobra and with 8 pedals for wobbly dirty magic!!
The head nodding is brilliant. A silent approval. ;)
Dan’s getting eaten first...but at least he told us about his pedals during the survival. Always fun to watch!! Josh, the canibals will hold you hostage for all their festivals!!
And then on with the Klon and you look so much happier.
Could be my favorite episode of ALL TIME!!!
This episode is just fascinating. I ended up watching it twice just to get a lot of it in.
Really cool how they refer to the crowd as the Canibals, great analogy!
Yes! Finally the JHS Double Barrel on That Pedal Show! Has been my favorite overdrive for quite a while. Glad it's seeing some TPS time. Great choice, Mick!
And Dan DEFINITELY gets eaten.
But it's not even my birthday!
Happy birthday!
My two favourite shows are in love hold on a minute I'm just going to get a cup of tea before I watch this
It was a great video! Fun to watch, but was really cool to see how much versatility of tone and sounds from 3 very different yet small pedal (4) rigs. That being said my order of tasty tones was Josh, Mick, Dan. I liked Dan's before the Tensor was tweaked out. Maybe teach the cannibals how to ferment the fruit on the island, have cocktails and jam out! Cheers!
great episode - i love that Mick and Dan got schooled just a little bit :-)
Dang, that BF-1 sounded good. Can we get more on that in a future episode, @thatpedalshow?
This could well become my favourite ever CZcams video.
great to see you guys in the same video! Three monsters on pedal effects. The cannibals probably would think you are gods and one year later there would be a lot of cannibal bands on this island :D
One of the best episodes!!! 💓🎼🎵
Josh just went for a killer guitar tone, probably killer enough to stare down a couple of cannibals, but not 100. Dan tried to out-voo-doo them. And Mick was just like, hey guys check this out. I bet the cannibals were like, can we hear that with some humbuckers?
this is the SECOND video in recent history where youve mentioned shoegaze and I love it
Fender Telecaster with a TV Jones Gretsch style pickup in the neck position. JHS Crayon, Keeley Compressor+, D+M Drive, Keeley Echoes, Fender Vibrolux.
Double Barrel or D&M Drive for 2 Gain-options in 1 pedal, Boss DD-500 for any type of Delay ( Analog to Digital Delays & Chorus & Special EFX ), Diamond Tremolo ( enables me to duplicate univibe-like sounds and more ) and a Strymon Big Sky for Pads, Infinite Hold, Bloom, Cloud, Shimmer & Chorale.
Sorry Mick, but the islanders mysteriously had copy of 'Are You Experienced' up on the alter which should have been in your favor; however Dan's hard stance to avoid eye contact whilst staring at those strange noise boxes, finessing the dials to ethereal bliss, bewildered and intimidated them into a trancelike state. Sadly, after coming down from their collective high, the only thing they could recall was your thin clean tone and how thin and hungry they were. Also, the shaman for the tribe called BS from the start as theres no way TPS would get out of this video in 15:35. Much Love!
I might as well just sprinkle myself with salt and pepper and pour melted butter over my head to save them the trouble , because I'm doomed if I was put in that situation . Three of my favorite CZcamsrs...great episode .
This episode is proof enough that the best idea would be to make food using all three of you gentlemen. 😋 Great show, really enjoyed it. 👌
It’s very close, but I’m gonna say Mick won because the Double Barrel is my favorite pedal. Dan’s flanger sounded incredible though, and his fuzz beat Mick’s lack of fuzz... maybe they’ll both just be half eaten and can keep their top halves to continue playing because it was so close?
Guitar: PRS Santana, Amp: Mesa Boogie MK V, Pedals: Ethos Overdrive with HRM, BK Butler Tube Driver, Analogman ARDX20 Delay with Amaze0 controller, Red Witch original Medusa Chorus/Trem Any sounds, any time.
Great show
Two of my favourite guitar shows TOGETHER
Dan won. His sustained, magical chords towards the end of his performance hypnotized me. And if they hypnotized a civilized, pedal-tech-exposed guy myself, I can only imagine he would practically sedate the cannibals out of sheer bewilderment.
Two Red Panda pedals on TPS in a week! Hope to see the Tensor explores more fully in another show!
Tom Poynton I second that... please! Waiting for an “Ambient Effects” type show someday! 🎶⚡️🎵
That was hilarious, thx guys! Dan has been eaten, you scared the shit out of the cannibals with that reverse thing! Mick has been eaten too. But maybe with a nice funeral for the earthy performance until he tend to shot at the cannibals, dohhh. Josh had the best chance to survive, crisp nice and mellow. Or maybe he end up on the cannibals soup for decoration!? Anyway you guys are killing it, id sacrifice myself to give the world a new episode!
Bit of Robin Trower at 7.00 ! Nice.
I'll play;
Guitar - Tyler studio elite hss in burning water. That finish will mesmerize them for sure. If they're colour blind I'll go maple neck prs swamp ash special.
Amp - Fender hotnrod deluxe. Even on a desert island they'll have parts. George Benson will have toured there at least twice!
Pedals - Boss ME50, zinky true grit, empress tape delay, Mr Black plus deluxe
Awesome video!
I love watching That Pedal Show, Anderton's, JHS TV and Rabea. Those are my four favorite CZcams channels to watch. Extra amazing? When they do crossover episodes like it's the freakin' MCU. I love it!
I love this. So many good tones and WHAT PRESSURE to make sure they were the best ever. Cannibals = toughest audience ever.
Love the Robin Trower innuendo!
U need to have a throwdown like this every month!!!!! It could be epic!!!!
Different ppl everytime or maybe the winner with a new setup against a new challenger
Great tone Mick !!!!!!!........that soundd crunchy!!!!!!!
Josh had the best tone...... thx for the beta!
I have to come down on the side of Nick. The classic sound with which I grew up - that swirly, overdriven-through-a-tunnel sound - that Jimi sound: THAT’S why he wins my vote.
Hmm, I would go for my Eastwood Airline 2p and my hotrod deluxe 3 through a EHX Bassballs, Digitech XP100 whammy Whammy, EHX Big Muff and a JHS Twin Twelve.
I liked Micks sound best. Maybe because of his playing, and maybe because I don't like flangers, but when he turned that vibe on it sounded really good to my ears.
@ThatPedalShow JHS Pedals Gotta say - Mick's playing on this was great!! Really nice tone - really nice voicing - tasty notes!! Great job everyone - but Mick slayed the enemy. Have a good one yalls. - Chris B (New Orleans)
Mick may have has the chewer tone off jump, but obviously Dan slayed all of the cannibals with that ice picky flanger therefore saving the day!
Is it one of those islands portrayed by Roger Dean on the “Yessongs” cover?
I liked the sublet allusion to the 3PO- Ewok / Mic- Cannibals analogy
JHS should consider developing a dual overdrive including the Blues breaker and Klon circuits - Josh's tone using those two pedals was epic!!
Oh this should be good!
Jazzmaster -> TS9/Superbolt/Unicorn/Timeline -> Vox AC30.
They all sound DELICIOUS!!!
Josh For tone, Mick for playing, Dan for his good looks.
My actual four pedal set up for Friday nights is currently MojoMojo, Angry Driver, H9, Carl Martin Andy Timmons compressor. Oh, yeah, and Strat and Deluxe Reverb.
Josh is my favorite guitar pedal nerd.. He's got great taste in music too..
What a humble amazing musician.
Mick lives!!! Love you guys 🤙🏻🤙🏻
