    Why didn't you rotate your video before uploading to CZcams? On a computer, it's literally sideways

    Searing doesn't lock in juices. Thats a common misconception. And cast iron greats will last for years, if properly cared for!

      Right?! All it does is brown the meat and that adds flavor so it's a good thing to do but it 100% does NOT lock in anything.

    Did this grill come with the stainless steel grates or did you have to get it after?

    Another question, they have them right now for 799, is this model costco exclusive? If it is then the parts are different and a nightmare to find

      I bought this at Costco and it’s available in multiple retailers. Haven’t had to replace anything yet.

      @@theaverageguy4174 the one they have right now is last years model, this years model has the side burner on the left and has different flame nozzles. It’s a great deal for 799. Sometimes Costco sells things as an exclusive, and that specific model is made just for Costco, I don’t know if that’s the case here. I did buy a cuisinart coffee maker and come to find out it’s a costco exclusive therefore the parts aren’t available, the carafe cracked and a replacement is not available anywhere, the standard is like a 12 cup and this one is 14. That’s how I found out about costco exclusive products, costco even told me more than likely any exclusive product will have the same issue. I’m undecided until I know what it is, this year they did upgrade the nozzles on the gas manifold to make it heat more evenly and that to me is most important

      All the parts are available and easy to find. Only thing different on Costco model is the light up knobs.

    • @buxnmax
      @buxnmax Před rokem +1

      So I bought the Costco model a week ago. Genesis ll s335 and it doesn't have the the light up knows or the probe inputs for the app. It was 799. Here is my main concern and would like to hear from others. I tried to register my grill online and it kept telling me my serial number was unknown. I called weber customer service and they still had no record of my serial number. So they made me take a picture of the sticker on the grill and send it to them. Supposedly the registered my grill but I'm scared if I end up needing to use the warranty.

    What about rust? Any issues?

  • @randydarsh2073
    @randydarsh2073 Před rokem +2

    Stainless grates suck, cast iron is the way to go it’s just that people don’t know how to season them and care for them. Stainless don’t season as good and food sticks. Well seasoned cast iron nothing sticks, even delicate fish. Season, burn off excess and season again once a year

    • @theaverageguy4174
      @theaverageguy4174  Před rokem

      Cast iron rusts and gets into your food and contaminates everything you cook on it with time. Stainless is easier to manage and the taste difference is so marginal that most won’t be able to know the difference. But I do respect your opinion and understand.

    • @randydarsh2073
      @randydarsh2073 Před rokem

      @@theaverageguy4174 yeah it can but it’s just like a cast iron skillet, most people won’t care for it and it will rust, i learned my lesson on the original set of grates. I bought a second set and seasoned them top and bottom at least one or two times a year with them always having a light coating of oil and I’m on year 15. BUT I grill year round and most people don’t and let bare grates sit all winter to rust. But yeah you are right they will rust for most people but I cook most of my food on cast iron on the stovetop so I go thru the pain in the ass process after every meal
