I appreciate the video. Saw this tonight and I'm debating whether or not to install the same door for my dog to enjoy the view of the backyard and sun bathe 😂
Great review. I tried to figure out the screen vs glass piece just looking at the Lowe's website and then the Larson website. This video gave me the clear information I needed to make my final decision. Hoping it doesn't take 45 days to get mine. :) Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
I have and want the screen on the bottom, but I want to remove it to clean the glass. Is there a special way or just put a knife under the push up? Thanks
I think I noticed it in the video, but just confirming. Is there a way for both top sections of the door to be glass? (Self storing door) The screen section is great, but WI winters.....
Great video! Informative and concise. I’m concerned about the doggie door flap warping with the Texas heat and just heavy traffic. I have two dogs, about 65-70lbs. What’s your take on the quality of the doggie door flap? Is it easily replaceable?
You’ve got to start with the adjustable window first, then the screen, then the top window in that order. What you do for the windows is pull from a corner on an angle until they wiggle out of the notches that keep them in place. It takes a little wiggling back and forth. Maybe I can do a video of that to show you if you’re still having trouble.
Do you feel safe to leave the house with just the storm door locked so the dogs can go in-and-out? Do you feel like an intruder could probably get through that door?
The lock is functional and well engineered though isn’t made of strong material so I think an intruder could break it if they wanted to. Everyone lives in different neighborhoods so I think that your question about safety is really up to the individual. It locks well but if someone wants to break in they’ll break in.
So now that you have had the door in for a summer use, how is the dog door/flap holding up? Do they sell replacement flaps for the door, and are they reasonable to find and affordable? I have 4 dogs with the dog door in the wooden door-I have to replace that flap 2x a year practically.

Thank you, thank you... I've been on the fence about buying this door and watching your video has helped!
We still like it. Does great. A lot of light comes in which is nice.
@@theaverageguy4174you think a 90lb black lab can squeeze through that sucker??
is it possible to get screen on both top and bottom? or only one?
Thank you so Much🎉

Easy to replace. It’s decent but not incredible. I am still using the original.
Thanks for this video. How did you switch the screen to the top?

@@theaverageguy4174 perfect, Thanks!
@@grantpryseski3623 good luck and if you get stuck tell me 👍🏼
@@theaverageguy4174 yes, please do video. I am thinking of getting this door but i really prefer the screen on the top like you have it.
@@jenniferdurante6442I agree, a video would be nice if you have the time and it's not too much trouble
How did you move screen up to top?
Awesome…Does it bring the shock thingy that helps it close?
It comes with it if that’s what you meant.
Does water stay out when the dog door is properly shut?
Yes
Can this door be cut
Did you give them a treat?
Every day
How did you switch the screen to the top?? I don't want my dogs to scratch the screen and puncture a hole in it.
It’s a process. Really hard to explain on here. I need to make a video for that.
@@theaverageguy4174please do because I am very interested in learning how.
We have a small dog 18 pounds how high is the lip from the bottom of the door to the entrance of the flap. Thanks in advance.
If I had to guess, approximately 3-4 inches. Probably closer to 3.
Hi, great video. I don't have the plate to latch the door, did you buy that separate? It is not in my box.
It came in my box in the hardware box/bag. Perhaps the retailer you bought it from or Larson can get you a set if you call and ask.
Do any flies come in that door ?
No

Flap is fine
