  • Niue, The Most Incredible Place to Visit A Drone's View
    July 2019 we went to Niue for a family holiday but like every other time, I have my camera and drone with me.
    Niue is a small island country in the South Pacific Ocean. It is a 3-hour flight from Auckland, New Zealand and is in part governed by the New Zealand Government.
    It’s known for its limestone cliffs and coral-reef, migrating whales swim in Niue's waters between July and October, in the southeast, there is a Forest Conservation Area, where trails through fossilized coral forests lead to the Togo and Vaikona chasms. The northwest is home to the rock pools of Avaiki Cave and the naturally formed Talava Arches.
    On the use of the drone. I contacted both the Niue Tourism Office of which didn't reply. I contacted a local tour operator and they said it was fine to fly around so I followed the rules from New Zealand which I;
    stayed under 120m, in line of sight (sometimes had a spotter), had the permission of property owners, and of course, didn't did fly within 4kms of the airport except at Scenic Matavai Resort which was 3.5kms away but flew the drone at a time I knew that Air New Zealand wouldn't be flying in or out of the island.

    Looks a nice place, and fortunately not spoiled by overtourism.

      Hey there, thanks for the comment. I would start with Google and see what comes up but it looks like there are a few places you can contact which will be able to help you much better than myself.
