Eloy's wife follows every Slipknot member on instagram, and she's not at all in the music business or a metal head. She's a doctor, like a top surgeon.
Recently Shawn posted a photo of his new mask and tagged the person who photographed. It was Slipknot's Personal Assistent. And she follows Eloy.

This week on Eddie Trunk’s radio show, Derek Sherinian and Bumblefoot said Eloy was Slipknot’s new drummer. He was supposed to be part of their new project but bailed when he got his new gig. Eddie even said “I don’t think you were supposed to tell us that”.
Sounds like Eloy might come to regret his decision.

It's Eloy! I saw him boarding the plane heading to the USA. I even exchanged an idea with him, I asked him, he didn't deny anything! I just showed the designer of the new mask! It will be in honor of Brazilian folklore!

Even of they don't say the drummer name we will know at the first note at Sick New World if its Eloy. Eloy has a sound and intensity in every hit that is so easy to recognize honnestly

Jay already works with Mike Muir in Infectious Grooves, so not a surprise... although Greyson jumping from ST to Sepultura kinda seems a bit odd but does make sense if he's interested in a short-term gig as opposed to ST's on/off. He's a monster player.
Referring to contracts for bassist: The second bassist of "Die Ärzte" , Hagen Liebing was "only" an employee. He could chose between monthly salary or sharing income and risks with the other bandmembers and choose the salary.

@@pufferzsola69no she isn't a founding member. First ever line-up consisted of 5 guys, but 1 year later the band broke up cuz the vocalist moved to US. When the other 4 guys reunited later, they invited Tetiana to perform at the concert and she remained in the band till this day. I mean yeah, of the current line-up she us the only member who has been there since almost the beginning, but technically she isn't the founding member.

It honestly makes a lot of sense. There are very few drummers out there today that can pull it off and possibly make the band better than when Joey was with them. Eloy is probably one of the most underappreciated drummers out there, he's a very lowkey humble dude, but REALLY fucking good.

Hey Tank, will you be doing a tour wrap-up video? The vlogs weren't my thing, but I'd still like to hear your perspective looking back on it.
On whether is Clown’s son, Simon: While in the long run I can see Vended members, notably Simon and Griffin joining Slipknot, but not now. Vended just released a new single; I think they want to get their names out there and build their own thing, then later fold that into Slipknot if they choose to follow their dads and take over touring the Slipknot catalog.
Eloy makes the most sense.
Vended sucks. If not for who their parents are, they would be nobody.
If I'm not mistaken, of the "candidates" you mentioned once, only Krimh and Eloy use Promark

I believed from very beginning of this whole situation that Eloy is going to Slipknot for the fact that he is one of the best metal drummers right now out there and as you said because it’s a huge carrier decision if they asked him to join.. but after seeing slipknot posting a photo of a broken drumstick and talked about rehearsing already and that drumstick was Eloy’s signature one I definitely believe he is in Slipknot.. I mean how can this be such a consistent their new drummer to play Eloy’s signature drumsticks..

Hey Tank, I used my Eargasm ear plugs for the first time last weekend. Used them for Country 2 Country a country music festival, they really saved my ears. Thanks for the recommendation! Especially during the Lauren Alaina set when my Apple Watch showed her peaking at 112db. Knew this recondition would come in clutch!

Talking about 3 way changes in metal music, Lorna Shore had one. Tom Barber left Lorna Shore to join Chelsea Grin, CJ McCreery left Signs of the Swarm to join Lorna Shore and David Simonich left IMPROVIDENCE to join Signs of the Swarm. Also I would be fucking laughing if its not Eloy and Tank has to shave.

Megadeth - Rust In Peace lineup is another 1 that springs immediately to mind.
Same with the classic slipknot lineup from self titled to Paul Greys passing.
Also, Machine Head (My favourite band of all time), The Blackening lineup. As much as I love Of Kingdom And Crown, which is by miles the best album they've done since, The Blackening era is still the lineup I think of when it comes to Machine Head.
We will know 100% as soon as we see the drum kit set up

I dig the fantasy band thing... but would there be separate classes for band size? Like bands who are a classic would be bass, drums, rhythm and lead and singer... then trios... then plus 2 where it has the extra percussion or keys, and then the mega groups with 6 plus aka slipknot, GWAR, Mushroomhead. Just a thought

To me Adam is a founding member, I know he isn't, but he has been in the band forever! And then Austin, I think he joined after Adam.

But srsly, I had some insight in the German folkmetal scene, and everyone knows everyone, many people play in multiple bands at the same time, especially bagpipe players come around quite alot. I mean, Luzi from Saltatio Mortis formerly played for Schelmish, which at the time was bigger than Saltatio Mortis. The frontman from Mr. Hurley also sings for Knasterbart... It is a business, and if you dont know people, you ain't in it. And it is like that with Metal Bands too, for sure.

As a brazilian, its amazing think about Eloy in Slipknot. The guy is a legend for us and we are very happy to imagine this happening for real. Like we say here: "Eloy é brabo demais!"

It was a toss up between El Estepario and Will for #1 for me and if Tati is not there at #2 I would've been really happy with Courtney from Spiritbox or Mayu from Nemophila. I could also just pick a combination of Jinjer and Lorna members honestly and make a super band lol. Great idea dude 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Too early to say but it very well may turn out to be a brilliant business decision for Slipknot. Interested to see how it plays out.
For some reason, drummers seem to be the most replaced members of bands and sometimes, it really feels like bands just contract new drummers from some sort of market.
Especially considering the insane portfolio, some pro drummers, foremost in the US have.
On the other hand, there is Phil Demmel, the human guitar stand-in...
I've heard the new drummer may be on a term based contract to see how things go.

FWIW, my dream pick for Slipknot (in my fantasy world) would be Mike Heller, though I doubt that since he got the Raven gig. Effortless technique and great feel with it across a wide swathe of metal.

On Slipknot's Facebook page, in the comments of the "Rehearsal" post, someone commented talking about the possibility of Eloy being the new drummer. And Alessandro Venturella hearted that comment.... so...
Jim commented with a brazilian flag when somebody said in the last slipknot's reels that Eloy would be announced on a bike.
Only other drummer i know thats very creative and very good is Maciej Kowalski from the black metal band MGŁA

Chris is definitely one of the best metal drummers ever but I personally think that Slipknot needs a younger drummer for many reasons and one of them is that some songs are really fast.

Didn't Clown post a picture on Instagram a few days ago about rehearsals and it was a picture of a drum stick? The drum stick was a promark one that looked a lot like Eloy's sticks.
It's Eloy and although everything slipknot have done in the last ten years I have not enjoyed I was even disappointed when Jay was fired..but having Eloy onboard could rekindle my interest..a bunch of anniversary shows playing the old stuff new material that's inspired Eloy can do what he did with Sepultura bring slipknot too the next level

Look at the other mask metal band, Mushroomhead is down to just Steve as a founding member. He replaces members like pieces of chess set. I think it was gene Simmons who made bands that way. All about selling the music, the name, and the image.
