      @@javierclement3047 Just a fancy way of saying its an LLM that uses the PDF as a knowledge file to consult.
      You can do the same with chatgpt itself now these days with custom GPTs, but people who developed PDF Chat apps are still desperately trying to hold on to relevancy.
      (Was a great idea before it became standard, but its time has passed since its base line functionality now)

    Fun fact: Harvard has free courses online that you can attend and when you finish, you get a certificate that you can then put on your CV and call yourself "Harvard-educated".

If you display any type of finacial need, they'll usually just give you a fullride with room, board, and on campus work opprotunities to earn extra walking around/eating money. Do some research bruh.

    Harvard is a prime example that we dont live in a meritocracy. Half of the attendees are legacy admissions or their family member made a large donation to the school.

      It's even less meritorious than you think. Legacy admits and donations have a completely separate screening process to be admitted. I saw someone say that legacies often have the same or similar stats to admits but that's not even the first thing they look at. Insane.

      ​@@fortunekader9121 ive come to find after attending 2 different community colleges that its a better feel overall. You also meet more people who were ill equipt for high school but are finding their groove and transfer up the chain after 2 semesters. It really does open up a lot of paths.

      I’m so glad you had such a good experience 💚 I work at a CC, got my associates at one, and am now getting a MS in Math to teach at one. There is nothing more fulfilling than serving underserved and underrepresented students. Ivies have nothing on CCs.

    I remember my dad telling me about two Harvard grads that worked at his company. He said they were obviously very intelligent, but they were also the most insufferable people he’s ever had to work with. Both of them didn’t last longer than a month or two.

      you probably intended it, but this comment comes off as extremely bitter. plenty of people who aren’t well off get into harvard. they do course have a very high legacy admission rate, but for example i for one was a first generation chinese immigrant low-middle class kid coming from Delaware (40k annual for family of 4) and i got into harvard class of 2018. and once you get there, you realize that even the legacy kids are extremely smart (the recruits maybe not but that’s the same with every school). you don’t just get into harvard through connections and money.

      @@P.90.603 a lot, but not all!! my dad was extremely poor growing up but he got into a financial program and got a full scholarship to MIT and took some classes at Harvard (informally). he also got a partial scholarship to another big college but i cant remember which one it was 😭
      money can get you almost anywhere, but its not completely impossible if youre poor.

    I live right near Harvard, which means I know a lot of people that went there, they are all in the exact same positions making the same or less than the other adults I know, the school looks good, but really doesn’t guarantee you anything that is much better.

      The secret is that unless you're like a pell grant student (and specially black and brown men according to research afaik), a top university makes no difference. It's just that the majority of students were already upper middle class+ and well connected, so they were getting impressive jobs regardless, which is why Harvard has more impressive alumns than MIT, for example (legacy vs no legacy admissions). Like nepo baby George Bush was going to be president whether or not he went to Yale, but Yale gets to brag about it too.

    Turns out, many companies have been refusing to hire Harvard grads, since most of them are rich from their parents money, entitled, insufferable, and do not know how to work.
    May state universities, Agricultural and Mechanical, are seeing that their graduates are being hired much more often, and are seen as better candidates.

    It was super easy for me to go to Harvard! In fact, I walked onto the campus, looked around, said, "Huh, so this is Harvard... Meh." And walked off campus again. (Literal truth, btw.)
    As for Harvard's reputation as a stellar institution of higher learning...it's far too tarnished these days. Too many legacy students who only got in because their parents went themselves for generations and/or donated a craptonne of money to take up a spot a genuinely talented student should have been able to occupy, but couldn't because the far less talented legacy baby got it instead.

    The thing with Ivy League schools if that they don’t make you some super intelligent person, it just looks good on your resume. I remember my dad hired someone who had a two degrees, an undergrad degree and masters degree both at different ivy schools; they ended up firing the person cause they didn’t know how to actually do the work. Just because you have a Ivy League degree doesn’t mean your better than people who didn’t go to an ivy

    One of my past professors taught at Harvard for a bit and one kid submitted a 7 page essay consisting only of "fuck you i hate this class" over and over again and he was forced to give him an A by Harvard's legal team

    I know a kid who came all the way from somalia rural areas never went to any prep school or took any AP classes and graduated from harvard with pretty good gpa. Let that sink. Getting in is hard classes and rigor not really.

    i don’t know why i never thought about it before but the grade inflation is probably a REALLY good way for harvard to maintain its reputation for having a bunch of really successful students. like yeah of course they’re gonna get into places just because they went to ✨harvard✨ but like i feel like they’d want to ensure that reputation remains by acting as though all of their students are smarter than in other colleges through grade inflation
