Love how people hate and Boo him. You don't realise you're fuelling his game. If you were smart, you'd cheer him on, as that may make him worse 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hope you recover from the ankle issue soon Faz!
Jesus Christ I hope you’re joking. Wilkinson did not carry the 2003 England Rugby side whatsoever; yes, he scored the winning drop goal but he did not carry the team in the final against Australia nor the rest of the tournament. Farrel however, who I consider to be a far more complete rugby player then Wilkinson was ever, was instrumental to England’s path to the final of the recent 2019 World Cup. Furthermore, Wilkinson had real struggle emotionally due to his position as England’s ‘kick taker’; the pressure got to him far too much. On the other hand, Farrel while being asked in an interview about his emotional attachment to the role of ‘kicker’ he said “it’s just kicking a ball”.
He already is. If he plays his career to its full potential, he could be the goat, and that's coming from a Carter fan. A world cup would definitely help, but what he's done already at 28, is more than most great players do in their whole career.
Just Zachhh Just tell him to get some hands in the tackle then he’ll be Johnny Wilkinson. Wilkinson was pretty much the the only specialist playmaker in his backline. He had Tindall and Greenwood in midfield who were pretty much burly crash ball runners. Catt I agree was a playmaker but wasn’t always first choice. His back three Lewsey, Robinson, and Cohen were all strike runners but except for Lewsey in moments, weren’t playmakers for the English. While Farrell had George Ford and Elliot Daly to make it easier for him. I agree carrying England to the cup is too strong but Wilkinson was at least a major part of that. He slotted 6 penalties, 1 conversion and a drop goal against Wales in the quarters. Scored all 24 points in the semis against France with 5 penalties and 3 drop goals. And under immense pressure, slotted that famous wrong-footer to win the Cup in overtime. If that’s not a cool head then I don’t know what is. It could be luck, but then again the man slotted 21 goals in the knockout stages and the final🤷🏽♂️ That’s 62 of England’s 72 points in those three games
