- After the passing of his mother, Elizabeth, to cancer, Matisse Thybulle found the courage to carry on, going on to become the 2017-18 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and a leader for the Huskies. Every time I play, I play for my brother. He died when I was 7 and he was 10 and It was his favorite day July 4th. His name was Chris. I didn't know he was going to go it was out of know where. He couldn't breathe and that was it. I took family for granted and no one should ever do that
