I think White was easily the worst of the cycle. 5 Mana (counting the mana it could've produced) to potentially whiff entirely and do basically nothing but draw a card. One that you also have to reveal since it has to be a historic card.
As a commander player, I considered arena for my Vastra/Flint deck, while the scenario of 7 mana on both is VERY late to the deck's plans, giving either one haste isn't bad either.
Been playing this land in my competitive Kroxa 1v1 commander deck. Last time I fought a Karlov of the ghost council, I made him discard most of his hand. On turn 6, dropped the arena of glory. Cast Kroxa from the command zone, cast Kroxa from GY. Discard 3, deal 6. God this land is a blessing everytime I draw it.
Phlage is proving to be an absurd card and two weeks ago I was thinking it was the worst of the three. In practice it's a lot closer to Uro than Kroxa.
@@Playingwithproxiesjust missing the land drop which is why uro was so dumb broken lol. It could have been gain 3 life draw and it would have been the same power as phlage
Honestly i haven’t been too impressed with arena of glory. On paper it seems like a great addition to any deck playing plage but in any color combination beyond boros i don’t think it’s worth screwing up your mana base, because it’s really only good specifically for escaping phlage, and if your escaping phlage your probably winning already
How is he down to 9? If my math is correct first phalge does 3, enters again for 3, swing 6, and helixes for 3, if that all goes through is 15, making him go down to 5 if at 20
Can someone explain what is being shown here? I'm failing to understand exactly what's going on Edit: is it just showing that arena of glory gives haste to the Plhage?
@@IAmSharcBait I'm aware, I was being a smartass with my previous comment. It would rather be turn 4 since that's Phlage's escape cost, and while I'll admit that you won't have 5 cards to exile on turn 4 every time, having a scenario like cracking 2 fetches, surveiling something into the grave, using a bolt and having something like a Ragavan die is far from unrealistic
@MysteryMeats333 I actually just built it on Arena...it's interesting...I built mine as Mardu control, running a bunch of instants, with a few sac lands to help fill the graveyard and fix the mana.

It’s busted in modern… pioneer might not like it so much around
Been playing Phlage on arena and people just scoop so often if you can escape it, especially with arena of glory
"Imagine that with a kroxa" I can, and my opponents have been less than thrilled.
Glad I bought a playset of phlage for 15$ each
Ah, a fellow OG phlage believer. Glad we got rewarded
Happened the same with fury. When i saw the preview I knew he was going to be insane. Got a promo one on pre release so I'm happy
fun fact: since it gives 2 mana, you can use this mana to cast 2 different creatures
Casually serialized shockland
And since you have 1 mana open as an interruption, u can cast a blink instant blinking phlage for another helix
Blinking phlage kinda sucks, you have to sac her when she comes back into play

Arena Of Glory seems like a fun card
Meanwhile I’m here getting it confused with Phage.
Drops a shock uses it to play a 3 mana spell
And still net gains a life on that turn.
Primeval titan enters the chat
I’m really regretting not pre-ordering Phlage.
one of these days the second guy is going to win i swear
I then ephemerate and fling for the win.
Urzas tower nah urzas saga 💀
Yeah, getting 5 cards in grave is the challenge here
Not exactly much of a challenge with fetches, bolts, baubles and a myriad of other cards that quickly find their way to the graveyard
Oh yeah the insane struggle of putting 5 cards in your graveyard. How ever will we do it
@@peewee0224 They need to be there by turn 2, so yeah. Kinda.
@@tristanconus3063 no they don’t

Phlage the Untouchable
*imagines it with kroxa* wow! I wish I was doing this with phlage!
So THAT'S why Phlage is $40
Is that how arena works even though it's ETB is sacfrice when it enters if it didn't escape?
Just sold my phlage for 35$ and am building up my nadu deck. Did I mess up?
I like phlage 😊
Explain to me why isn't phlage at least a 1 of in burn
I thought he started to be
Because burn wants to kill their opponent by the time they'd be able to escape a phlage. 3 mana for 3 damage is a terrible rate for burn.
@@iankane3732sometimes the burn plan doesn’t work so phlage is a nice midrange threat
@@DiscardatRandomThen run black instead of white if you want a more mid-range burn deck.

I opened two Plages at my prereqlease lmao
Why wouldn’t you be able to pay the escape cost with it it’s an alternate casting cost for a creature

Simple we do it with uro and play sphere of resistance value
