One of the best years of the decade in my opinion. Great stage and great songs. Here's my top 10: 1. Ukraine: this was my runaway winner and on of my favorite esc songs ever. Very glad it won. Song, lyrics, performance, vocals. Everything perfect. 2. Serbia: my 2nd-4th are all really close but I think Serbia has an edge. Great song, very emotional, fantastic performance. 3. Israel: Big grower after the revamp. Really enjoy this. Also an impeccable performance. 4. Poland: It's really catchy, I love this singalong song and he is a charismatic performer. 5. Armenia: Very modern and catchy, love the whisper at tjw beginning and the ethnic vibe. 6. Italy: A grower. Started enjoying this one year after the contest. Before I had it midway somewhere. It has a nice and cute infectious instrumental and I love singing it. 7. Bulgaria: has grown off me in the years but I still remember that first time I heard it. Immediately infectious and overall greatly done pop. 8. Norway: always liked this, it's not cohesive, but I enjoy both the songs I hear 9. Australia: Another grower thanks to that huge vocal performance. Still find it flat in studio but when I hear the live performance it really works. 10. I have 5 countries competing for this last place, but I think I have to go with the song I now enjoy most so its Sweden. Relaxing cute-mad and singalong. My top 15 is completed by Iceland, Estonia, Malta, The Netherlands and Austria. Though I also enjoy Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Moldova (guilty pleasure), Spain, Slovenia. So yeah, it was a great year. Never liked Russia's song btw.

I disagree as much as always but FINALLY someone shares my opinion on australia and armenia lol, armenia's chorus is the same sentence ten times and the main thing that bothers me with australia is how the word silence doesnt have the rythm its supposed to have (same thing with malta and water) also spain and finland had very similar songs except spains was much better and more fun the singer for germany won the voice of germany the year before eurovision and im pretty sure she was never on a big stage before that so thats probably why she seems so inexperienced. i still feel so bad for her because everyone made fun of her and she got so much hate. she did a good job and her song is much better than some certain other songs so i really dont understand why she was the one that got all the hate tbh. ok anyway heres my top 10 10. It was a nice idea to have the countries' names in their own language, but I'm sorry, you made some mistakes. Greece is Ελλάδα, not Ελλάς. Armenia is not Այբուբեն (Aybuben), that word means alphabet😂. The Armenian word for Armenia is Հայաստան (Hayastan).
i don't like the swedish song, it's just a straight up copy of Catch and Release by Matt Simons which I find way better. It is especially very similar to the Deepend Remix, which happend to be published a year earlier than the contest.
I know 2016 was a good year with a lot of strong entries. But I cannot agree to you putting down good ones like Russia, Poland and Australia and promote really boring and mediocre ones like Estonia and Sweden.
