The HEALTHIEST Yogurt To Buy In 2020...Including Dairy Free

- There have never been more yogurt options at the grocery store, but many of them are not products I would want to consume on a healthy diet. In this yogurt review video I show you the most nutritionally dense yogurt options, including two of my favorite plant based and dairy free options. If you eat yogurt, or any dairy, it's gotta be organic, better yet would be grass-fed. Stay away from yogurts with added sweetener, the sugar destroys the live and active cultures. Hope you enjoyed this short, another one coming tomorrow, and almost every day this month! Mad love..Bobby, Dessi, Rose, and Art! XOXO

I like your channel a lot. But as a microbiologist I have to note that sugars in yogurt don’t kill bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria grow well in presence of sugars. If you mean that products of lactic acid fermentation may cause bacteria to die than I think that if you do not consume stale dated yogurt you should be fine.
I came here to comment about microbiology as well as I have made knf ferments and the sugar is used as well. supersaturation it slows the ferment
Ty😊
Love these short videos!! Please do more or perhaps a “highlights” version of your other topics. I like to refer to them when I shop.
I'm so glad you did video on yogurt...there are sooo many different brands...can't even read fast enough. This really helps!!!
Loved the plant base recommendations❣
I’ve learned so much with you videos! Thanks for risking the kick outs to give us prime information! I’ve changed a lot of what I eat and read a lot of nutrition labels now ☺️
Just came up on your videos a few days ago and have been binge watching ever since. Although I have absolutely no desire to go on a keto diet, the wealth of information I have and am continuing to gather is just priceless. I've never been a "label reader" per say, or took it serious. But at this age, things have to change. I live in NE Illinois, so am familiar with all the major stores. My go to is "Woodman's", and they do have many of the same products I have run across in your videos. Keep it up..... you're educating me!
There is no one on CZcams like you! Thank you for this Information 😊
Mad love and peace! Thank you Bobby and Art❤
I told a stranger about your channel in target today😊 as you have taught me so much. I want to spread the word. Thank you so much
I have done the same!!! I always thought I was healthy and doing things right!! boy was I fooled by words!!! I read all labels now unless its something Bobby has literally named. I had a list for Costco, Aldi, and Whole foods!!! hahahah...Im waiting for him to do one on LIDL if they have one up north!
Doesn't all yogurt made from milk ?
I work in Rehab in a Hosp, and I was chatting with one of the patients in her room, and I mentioned something she had in her room was a good choice, and I knew that because of a video. She looked at me and said, FlavCity. Needless to say, I realized I had an instant friend.
I love love love your videos!!! I'm learning so much about how to shop healthy. Thank You!!!
I hope you’re feeling better thank you for editing so so much everyday to get these videos out!!!!!! I also hope there’s a live stream soon hope everything is ok.
slowly getting better, its been almost two weeks..i am hoping for a live stream friday! Crazy!
Thank you 1000X for recognizing the benefits of grass fed and pasture raised! My dream is to manage pasture raised chickens, and to raise rare heritage breeds.
I have just recently been trying to eat cleaner (along with my family) and I swear every time I think "I wonder what the best (insert food type here) is?" you put up a video that answers my question! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge!! And for sharing videos of your sweet baby girl on Instagram :) She brightens my morning when I watch your Instastories! Last note, I couldn't help but laugh at the little girl chowing down on snacks at the end of your video lol! Wonder if the snack was "Bobby approved!" :)
Your t-shirts are hilarious! Love your videos! So helpful! And your baby is just precious!
Thanks for all the useful information you provide! 👍👍
I’ve learned so much from you brotha thanks for all the tips and videos. I subscribed!
I share your videos religiously...like it’s my job...as if my friends and family’s lives depend on it, which does 😉 Thanks to u, Art and your lovely wife. Keep up the great work of educating us. Much love, great health, and incredible success for you all. 💖
Love these shorts ! You clearly used the opportunity to record in Whole Foods in a great way! The Aldi near me is horrible don’t have a Whole Foods convenient to me however I will start planning trips there . I am a prime member. Their good will in letting you record there will result in me going there for more.
We filmed for so many hours it was crazy.and they are letting us back ;)
FlavCity with Bobby Parrish you put the store in a positive light and people know they can get products they need!
@@BobbyParrish Bobby what are your professional certifications / education / degrees to be an actual authority on this? THANKS!
Metro Music yes we all know if you don’t have a degree in nutrition you can not possibly read studies or realize sugar is no good . Also it is up to us to follow up and decide if it makes any sense to us . It may not make sense to you that fewer chemicals or preservatives are not a great Idea . Then don’t try to eat cleaner . I look at a lot of things on the net I am not afraid to try new products if I like it I use it . Doctors have been wrong so much . nutritionists and those in the know came up with the food pyramid and have things improved or gotten worse health wise?
@@tomdalton4016 Terrible response. I dread to see what kind of doctor you choose use, or plumber/electrician you hire, or accountant/finance professional you partner with.
# keep on cooking, mad love and peace. Thanks Bobby and Art.
Can’t thank you enough Bobby! You rock!
Bobby your videos always make me hungry ..lol could you kindly make a video for vegetarian keto foods ? snacks ?
Wonderful, vital information ! Thank you !
Can you also recommend some other stores like Trader Joe’s and Costco which have good yogurt.
Great tips, thank you Bobby! 😃
Greek full fat yogurt with a handful of blueberries tastes good
I was seriously going to leave a message in your last YT video to give me more info on yogurt! 😁😁
The best teacher on the planet thanks Bobby
I remember when I thought yoplait and Chobani were healthy
Happy early Birthday Bobby!
I need to check Lavva yogurt. I don't think it's available in our Whole Foods store though. I usually buy plain Kite Hill. 👍
I did noot expect you to be 40 some! I would've thought you're 28-36 max, wooow, you're doing amazing!!
Love Siggi's Yogurt 🥰
I love listening to this guy!!!
Love all the info and help you give. Thank U!
When making overnight oats with yogurt… is it ok to add honey or agave when you open the container?
Very informative! Thank you!
Gotta stay healthy for the new year.doing good so far.
What’s a good glucosamine brand? I’ve been looking at the ingredients and everything u mention that’s bad is listed. 🥵
❤ Love your videos Bobby! Especially the ones from Walmart because I live in small town in KY and don't have easy access to Whole Foods or Costco. One from Sam's Club would be great too. They're just 45 minutes from me!
Question: I have been religiously eating yogurt everyday, and very recently I finally switched to plain whole milk organic yogurt. I never like the texture of Greek style, so I chose traditional plain yogurt. I tried 2 different grassfed yogurt, and they were 2 extreme side on texture. Organic Valley was too "lumpy" like its curdled (I know it is yogurt after all but...), and Maple Hill was too "runny" as if you are supposed to drink instead of eating with spoon. Its funny I do like milks from both Organic Valley and Maple Hill, but struggle with their yogurt. Do you have any good grassfed yogurt suggestion for a person who likes Stonyfield plain yogurt texture (not Greek)?
Awesome video man 😎
Will buy all while am in usa in may for my cousin graduation will share the video with my mom so she knows what to buy love your stories and food made me hungry as always love your hauls videos soooooooooooo much drooling over my samsung galaxy j4 love your dad and stories always brighten up my day love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya
You guys are awesome 🤩
Bobby I know this is off the subject of the video, but can you do a video on the best seasoning salts and cajun seasoning to use? Growing up in my household we always used and I still use Lawry's or some type of cajun seasoning instead of cooking with regular white salt. Finding better options are my goal for this year. Thanks!! 😀
Bobby can you do a video on baby food? Thank you and I hope you’re enjoying your bday week!
My mom who has a severe dairy allergy just said that the other day...this vegan movement has really opened up dairy-free options for her 👍🏻
Goodmorning FlavCity Fam
Question ... I eat So Delicious brand coconut milk yogurt unflavored and add granola, fruit, raisins. Am I compromising the probiotic benefits?
Thank you so much for this information, but can you add your own sweetener-like honey? would that still affect the live culture? cuz I don't mine buying the Plain but I usually add some honey to it, is that OK? You're just amazing, thanks again!
That’s a good one, thanks tell Rose 🌹 I say hello
Can I still get the same benefits if I put Greek yogurt in a shake with almond milk, strawberry’s and bananas, or should I just have it by itself
Sending this to my son- he loves yogurt 😁
I love Lavva yogurt! I’m so glad it’s approved! I still get tricked by gimmicks and healthy sounding adjectives sometimes so I’m so happy this one is actually truly a good choice! 😄
so good!
@Samuel Israel Don't worry about saturated fat if you eat a healthy diet. Remember that the fat making up the human body is mostly saturated fats. Saturated fat is not bad at all.
Where i get that organic
Hi Bobby! have you tried the Culina yogurts? They're paleo approved and sold in Whole Foods. I recently made a review with my thoughts on them but I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on them!
Thanks to your videos, we buy grass fed dairy products only. All our yogurts plain or greek, grass fed. We get one plain yogurt with the cream on top, its delicious! We just ad fruits if we want to sweeten and nuts if we make it a meal.
Thanks for sharing the information
Hi Bobby, can I add stevia to the plain yogurt and will it still keep its probiotic benefits? Also which honey can I add?
There was a video you did where you said you wish the grass fed yogurt was whole milk instead of nonfat so that you get those good omega 3s. Does this apply to non grass fed yogurt too? Basically I'm wondering if it's better to buy whole milk or nonfat plain greek yogurt?
i have a question; do you recommend the chobani one, with low fat greek yogurt which only has skim milk and live bacteria as ingredients?
Bobby, Do you recommend Aldi's Simply Nature Greek Plain Yogurt? Is 'organic' equivalent to '100% grass fed' and 'Grass Fed & Finished'?Finished? Thanks for the info!
What’s your thought on the Seven Stars plain full fat organic yogurt? I’ve been eating that during my pregnancy.
I'm new to this but I'm trying to clean up my diet and start reading the labels. So why can't we by the low-fat versions of Greek yogurt?
Me and my girls love Greek yogurt. Now I'm going to look at our yogurt even closer before purchasing it. You learn something new everyday. What about noosa that is my oldest daughter favorite yogurt
Hey Bobby! I have a question being someone who is lactose intolerant- can I also get at yogurt that is not Greek? I have been eating plain fage 2% Greek yogurt for years
I like the short videos better than the long ones.
I typically add honey or maple syrup to plain greek yogurt. Does that also kill the good bacteria in the yogurt?
Can you name the best yogurts for type 2 diabetic person
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
If you buy a organic, plain greek yogurt is it acceptable to add a sugar free sweetener such as a sugar free jelly/jam?
Right now I buy Siggi's whole milk yogurt and Fages Whole milk Greek yogurt. Have seen any good goat's milk yogurt? Do you think I should make my own goat's milk yogurt?
Would a slash of sugarfree vanilla, Ceylon cinnamon, and my own local-bought raw honey be okay to mix into good yogurt?
A friend forwarded your link. I am enjoying your energy and knowledge. Recently I got hooked on Labne (kefir cheese ) so I replaced my yogurt with it. The Labne was recommended by my Syrian friend who grew up on it. Have you eaten it. I just checked label and it says.... Real California Milk ? What could that mean🧐. There are a few brands like Victor’s and Karoun. I have to get it at a local Middle Eastern grocer of which there are 3 in Watertown ,MA.
Again thanks for the education will go for those brands
😄🤣😂 You're nuts, Bobby !
I started buying Siggis based on a video you did about 7 months ago on yogurt. Its not organic and not grass fed but like you mentioned the sugar is way lower than other brands for the flavored kinds and overall it’s a better option vs some of the other leading brands.
if you cant buy organic or GF, thats the next best option!
Same.
@@BobbyParrish Yup, it's all about doing the best with what you have. Additionally, if you actually look into the practices of certain brands then you'll see they aren't all that bad. For instance, Cabot makes a super delicious 10% Milkfat Greek Yogurt. On the label, it does not say Grass-Fed or Organic; however, upon doing some research on the company, checking their social media, as well as DMing the brand on Instagram, I was able to find out that their dairy cows eat a diet of mostly grass with only small amounts of supplemental grain in their regular diet. I think that is a whole lot better than purely grain fed. Plus, the Cabot cows even get access to pasture. So, I was at least happy to see that there are some good things going on.
I buy the 11% Plain Oikos. It has very little sugar
what about Fage? Chobani, others?
also i cant carry 32 oz cup of yogurt in my lunch bag to work, i think it would be more useful if you focus on "most common" size like 5oz.
Bobby ...do something for Diabetes people ..its a big deal Bobby ..people like us always struggling to find stuff to eat. Yogurts for Diabetes please..anyway You are awesome Superman..your knowledge and the research you do is amazzing..keep up the good work👌👌👌
yes, i wanna do videos for diabetics!
@@BobbyParrish Brilliant👍👍👍👍
@@BobbyParrish Thankyou So much🙏
FlavCity with Bobby Parrish - yes please Bobby some videos for diabetes. It would help so many of us. You Rock! 🤗
I’m T2D I eat brand 2 good. 2 carbs. 2 grams sugar
What are your thoughts on Daiya yogurt? We do buy the Vanilla Bean which I now see has cane sugar.
You can add your own honey, fruit, and monk fruit -- and it won't affect the yogurt bacteria. But can you add your own cane sugar?
Adding a tablespoon of strawberry jam to unflavored grass-fed Greek yogurt makes it taste like you bought it pre-flavoured which is good. I use the Crofter's Organic jam you recommended in your jam and felly video. So good!
Thanks for the information
Hey, Bobby! Love your channel, even my 10 year old is enjoying learning about healthy foods. I have a question about your sources for facts on sugar killing probiotics, and shelf stable probiotics basically being useless. I was trying to find some research to corroborate that and wasn't able to come up with anything. Help!
As much as I love Bobby and think his videos are SO helpful, this is simply untrue. Sugar only kills bacteria in stale, outdated yogurt and dairy. Bacteria thrives in sugar, actually, and that includes the ones in your stomach. Unless you’re eating super expired yogurt, you’re still getting all the live and active bacteria. Only thing is, you’re eating more sugar. Bobby’s claims are misinformation.
Bobby, can I eat cassava or cassava flour products while on Keto?
Even better is to make your own yogurt using 100% grass fed milk. If you own an Instant Pot it's easy peasy. Let it ferment for 24 hours and you get ten times the beneficial bacteria than conventional yogurt which is only fermented for around 6 hours.
mathfaster what a time to be alive!:0
Hi, Bobby! Big fan! What do you think about goat milk products?
I tried the lava raspberry last night and really liked it! Only thing is is a bit high in saturated fat
I love your shirt! Lol
I look awesome for a young 42. It shows that what we eat matters.
So what’s best yogurt for high live active culture? Is it ok to add my own raw organic Binet to it though
When we will see Canadian stores version?
Which is best? (Assumming all are grass fed) Bulgarian, Greek, or Icelandic?
Costco greek yogurt has 3 g of sugar, the ones recommended in this video have 2 to 3 times more sugar. Sugar is sugar Grass fed or not.
When I read the back, it said Cassava Root starch. Does that make a difference?
What are your thoughts on Fage 5% fat
Thank you! I love Alexandre
Ordered yogurt starter kit and it has Maltodextrin 😳😕
Bobby please tell me what oat yogurt brand is good. I am allergic too nut and coconut
Have you tried Cocojune? What is your take on it? I’m excited to hear back what you think! 😊
Simply the best
Is there such a thing as gluten-free casein free dairy free yogurt and if there are any brands you can suggest
What would you recommend for dairy free/lactose free and tree nut free yogurt for kids?
I remember I’m high school I used to eat the dannon light n fit stuff. Makes my skin crawl thinking about it now. It’s not even yogurt!
Claire Lubrano crazy right, what we used to think is healthy for you it was actually bad!
"in" high school?
maria a yes. Obviously.
Claire Lubrano even worse, I used to eat yoplait!!!! Basically sugar!
@@taylorparsons5438 Ha ha. Didn't realize Dannon & Yoplait (custard style tasted so good) are now among the worst. I used to eat Yoplait, too.
So is stonyfield organic Greek yogurt with whole milk ok?
