- It's great to be back in Cortona. What a beautiful Tuscan town this is. Oozing historical and architectural buildings that will just take you breath away. Today "One Take Property Tour" is the top two floors of an incredible 14th century Palazzo in the heart of Cortona and directly opposite the cathedral (Duomo). The Duomo di Cortona was built over the remains of an Roman temple in the 11th century. Today elements of the Roman facade is still visible.
This amazing apartment has that "room with a view" which is just stunning. With approximately 360sqm of internal space with exquisite restored frescos, artist studio, professional chefs kitchen and 4 bedrooms; this really is a special abode.
At the time of this video publication the property details are being prepared and should be on our website, linked below, in the next couple of days. If you can't wait that long please just email us info@abodeitaly.com.
I hope you enjoy this virtual property tour.
Best wishes,

HOLY CRUDOLA!!!!! I really can't believe...... 4 bedrooms and plenty of space. I love the kitchen. I'm a very good cook and baker.... Heck.... I'm good at everything I set my mind on doing, LOL!!! I love the size of that fireplace in the living room. And to hear those tower bells reminds me as a child in my grandparent's home. As their house was next to a church with tower bells. Investors tore down their home earlier this year to build an apartment complex. I literally cried.
Living in New Zealand I can only dream of places like this. That is one of the best ones you have filmed Nick , the owners have hit the nail on the head with style and tradition. I would not change a thing. Love it. What a gem.
Love these town apartments! More, please
Beautifully and sensitively done. I was also squeaking with delight. Bless you thanks Nick.
I love this place !!! How beautiful. Your the best.
Nick that was an incredible tour ,so well done .who would not want to live in this incredible apartment ,the views ,ahhhhh.
I can dream !
What a city centre apartment ! All that history , stylish and quality. Ancient meets modern. It's unique
Ooh, this is so whimsical, Nick. What a treat of a tour😃 love your commentary ~ Thank you!!💓
Thank you. Best wishes, Nick.
Oh my good lord, what a find Nick. An 11 out of ten from me ! That is huge isn't it? And the price is very reasonable for what it is. The history here is out of this world I'm certain!! Best wishes Paula from uk.
Very beautiful. Love it! 😍 And that toilet thing - you are so funny Nick 😉
Thank you Carina. Best wishes, Nick.
Very interesting, but I must say I love the country homes better. It was unique in design, I am sure it will be great for people who love convenience of being in town, & the architectural details just awesome. Thanks for sharing I love your videos.
Thank you Patricia. Best wishes, Nick.
OMG !!!!
Nick it is gorgeous !😍
It would be a privilege to own that penthouse with all the amazing frescos I love the untouched frescoes and all the Beautiful views from every windows!!!! I Think it’s a dragon light above the door that is so beautiful at least I think it’s a dragon? Love the church bells 🔔 Nick you made my Morning!!
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY NICK !!!
🥂
Thank you so much Cece. Best wishes, Nick.
Gorgeous apartment. I guessed 1.2 million before you said it.wish I could afford it and wasn't afraid to live on upper floors, (scared of fire). Thanks again Nick, love your videos.
Thank you Dawn. Have a great weekend. Best wishes, Nick.
Stunning! Yes!
I love your videos. They give me sweet dreams.
Most interesting! Huge potential. The kitchen has no warmth. The Bells and the Bell tower would, however, assuredly drive me mad. Cortona, or not. Fantastic tour, Nick. Well done you.
Thank you. Best wishes, Nick.
Nick you crack me up, if I close my eyes, you could be describing a 4 course meal or a runway show with models! Great job as usual and if you hadn't mentioned it you can hardly tell except for the 1 bathroom the lack of lighting.
Love your comment Dan. Made me laugh. Best, Nick.
@@italianproperty Glad it made you laugh, I'm retired from the Army so I have to watch my humor, sometimes it can be too biting,
Good to see more of you, Nick. That apartment is, as you would say, just fabulous.
Thanks Robert. Best wishes, Nick.
What's not to LOVE! OMG!
Fabulous
Fantastic!
Easy to see why you love your job!
Thanks David. Best wishes, Nick.
Great video tour nick, thanks👍😀❤️🇬🇧
I loved it from the moment you opened the door at the street side, in fact… I loved that door, the hallway…, just like in Lugnano …. It has something magical. This is a real gem 💎.
Looking forward to seeing you soon. Best wishes, Nick.
It's the best what you show us!
Very spacious apt..I would love living here, but I’d have to do lots of updating..thanks Nick for showing us alternative to country living..Grazie 💕
Would buy this for the frescoes and the church bells, yet another gorgeous property from you.
Thank you Sabrina. Best wishes, Nick.
Oh, wow! Gorgeous. I can't imagine that Sq Ftg on two floors.
You have captured my dream home!
Would love to live in cortona. What an amazing find nick.
I think the frieze you called arts&crafts is mideval. There are similar ornamentations from late mideval/ renaissance times and the arts&crafts designers drew much inspiration from that era as did the Prerafaelites.
Beautiful flat, very high end modernization and interesting mix of ancient and modern design. Probably very reasonable price for this flay considering the size, location and the investments made in renovation!
The church bells are an added charm, lovely!
Really enjoyed reading your comment. Thank you. Nick.
Palatial is what comes to mind, yet, also cosy. Nick, you are seriously hilarious. Love from 🇨🇦
Thanks Carol. Love you comment, made me laugh. Kind regards, Nick.
Wow, this appartment is just incredible, a gem! Sorry that I can't afford it. Hope there will be other objects in towns, for an ordinary Scandinave, more affordable objects... I have followed you for a while, and you are very good presenting houses, and I love your positivity.
Hi Joan, Please don’t apologise, I can’t afford it either. 😊 Thank you for following my channel. Best wishes, Nick.
This is the best yet! The restoration of the frescos is so lovely. The whole apartment is quite nice.
The colors inside and outside make me want to paint a picture of the area, building, skies, everything! 🥰
I can see why an artist lived and worked there. ❤️
In the opening shot, you looked quite hunky, too, Nick. And the parting shots, as well.👍
🙏 Best wishes, Nick.
I honestly think you're doing a fantastic job Nick...... Keep up the good work. THUMBS UP.
Thank you so much. Best wishes, Nick.
Fab U Lous. Fancy Pants Apartment. So beautiful. Staircase is a little weird to me. I would imagine it should be experienced in person to more appreciate. Thanks Nick !!!!!
When are you moving in Nick? Lol. Its so beautiful. History, Location, views, its got it all. Thank you again for a great vlog. ❤🇦🇺🦘
I'm doing the happy dance. In my head of course...
Devastatingly heartbreaking that I cannot move in tomorrow.
Amazing restoration, the only thing I will change If was mine to put the kitchen where the studio is which has a great dining room, I think that stunning kitchen is a bit sacrificed, maybe they eat outside with all the yummy trattoria around!
Beautiful Appartment, amaizing size. I do not like the design, it look like the crash of a ¨Time machine ¨. Of course, is my taste. It have potential. Thank you for show it. God job Nick.
Thanks Xavier.
That is truly an amazing property, not my style or taste but I see the appeal.
Imagine adding a balcony to that master. Good lord
Fabulous apartment, love the details! Not a huge fan of the staircase structure though. Cheers Kirk
That is a kitchen! The frescoes are magical. Is the building currently occupied? Okay, this is a typical American question for which I apologize; is there parking?
Hi Ramona, Thanks for your comment. No private parking but one would get residents parking. Have a great weekend. Best wishes, Nick.
Beautiful. On your way to the dining room there is a door on right. Is it a closet….strange looking doors 🤔?
Good question Roger. I think that’s the front door. Best, Nick.
@@italianproperty how silly I was so excited by the property I got a bit lost. Many thanks Nick 🤭
#13! Are the Italians superstitious about numbers? Love seeing you close those lids! HaHa! Fantastic view and spaces!
Hi Paula, No, Friday 17th is our unlucky day and 17 is the unlucky number. This superstition comes from the Roman numeral XVII, and then changed anagrammatically to VIXI; in Latin that translates to "I have lived," which can be understood as, "My life is over." Best wishes, Nick.
I definitely like the features of the country houses better but there were little treasures in this one too. The frescos were beautiful! Not a fan of the stainless steel modern look of the kitchen. I did feel like I was looking at two separate homes with the style of the kitchen compared to the other rooms. Great camera work again Nick! It is fun to see these homes with your commentary! The views were amazing! Thanks for this video!
Thank you Mary and thanks for you comment. Have a great day. Best wishes, Nick.
Hi Nick, I enjoy your presentations as usual. But to spend this amount! I would prefer other alternative, such places in Umbria with open space better breathing air in the country with better views. Kindest Regards.
Nick, what was this building originally? I mean, in the 14th century? And that recreation of the frescoes could have been "aged" and blended in, but I see why they did it the way they did. What was up the other staircase? It looked like the gameroom/bedroom level had another level beyond? The bedroom & bathroom off the kitchen is for the "help." Do not like the kitchen at all, but the view was spectacular! ♥
I think it was just one house. I can ask as I know the family that owned it. Not sure about the other staircase. Was that in the hallway? If so, it was the back of the Palazzo which would have been for staff. Best, Nick.
Very nice, is only the second floor or all the building, is the price!
Hi Lili, It's the top two floors. Best wishes, Nick.
Stunning apartment, although the first couple of floors look abandoned and unkept and I would be uncomfortable walking up those stairs alone at night!
I think it just needs a good clean. Thanks for your comment. FYI: Cortona is super safe. Best wishes, Nick.
I knew it had to be at least 1 million, is the art work in the studio included?
Not sure, I’ll ask. Thanks for your comment Mrs. Cute As. Best wishes, Nick.
hey, new to the channel but loving these vids, just a quick one. because of the red strip at the bottom of your thumbnails it makes it really hard to know which of your videos i've already watched, just something i thought i'd say cause it may be beneficial for you to know, cause it'll help people like myself binge all your videos more. keep up the good work though, love it!
Thank you. Best regards, Nick.
I can't help being reminded of Monty Python's take on church bells.
😊
Dear Nick
I love your video’s. However I must say that if a house is 14 th century, the door(s) and knockers most likely are later in date!
This beautiful property had several updates throughout the century’s to keep up with fashion.
The facade is defenitely later.
No roof terrace? There were stairs going up...
Hopefully heaven. Best wishes, Nick.
They put a couch in the stairwell so that you can rest.
Best wishes, Nick.
I have a contrarian view which I am sure will not be popular. The current owners modifications with the exception of the frescoes, are very particular. The SS kitchen, with the largest exhaust hood that is not in a restaurant. The wood and SS multilevel shelves near the staircase. The interior improvements but choosing to replace or restore the windows. The lack of outdoor space , all add to my question if it’s overpriced. A quick search on similar properties in or near Cortona will produce several that seem a better value. That being said Nick as the agent has to walk the fine line of pricing based on the owners beliefs.
Thank you for your comment. Opinions are the spice of life and I appreciate yours. Best wishes, Nick.
Is this property still for sale?
I believe so. Please email if you need further information. Best wishes, Nick.
I like the house but...I really don't like the modern "Things" in this house. If I was to buy I would have to get rid of a few things. I say things because I have no idea what they are. Again...nice house.
Seems a bit sterile for my taste. Also, why is the dining area so far from the kitchen? The rooms just seem a little too closed off.
I agree, I would make the dining room the reading room or cinema room. Thanks for your comment Joe. Best wishes, Nick.
It is anybody living in that building? It is beautiful but abandoned. they need to repair or paint the outside and inside. It is a pity the way it actually is
