A quick low down on mechanical skimmers eheim skimmer and ADA Vuppa fancy getting your self a skimmer ? follow the link below :) horizonaquatics.co.uk/categor...
Got both of these, Eheim, IMO is just a better product regardless of cost, The Vuppa, got quite loud on me after about 1 year (luckily its in the arcade so don't listen all day), down side with Eheim, sponge needs replacing every 6 months or so, and gets clogged easy so needs a weekly clean (again IMO). Great vid mate
Hi James, I great review. I am thinking of setting up a low tech 40ltr as it’s going to be in a cubbyhole I want as little fuss with equipment as possible. I was thinking that 1 or 2 of the Ada skimmers could work as filtration. It will have a few galaxy’s and shrimp . What are your thoughts
Hey Tom ada made the the vuppa as a skimmer but some people do use them as filters in small shrimp set ups with heavy planting. On that size I would recommend a small external filter as it will handle the fish waste better and also keeps the minimalistic look 😀 if you need help or advice feel free to give us a call.
you made me buy the ADA - thank you for your dedication
Suffering from the oily surface film, I used both product already. In my experience, the ADA is way better.
Great review James, i couldn't be without my Eheim skimmer, well worth the money👍
They are brillant value for money :) chears buddy appreciate it :)

Thanks man :) yer I'm surprised eheim have not changed it with demand been high on them in last few years.
I've never used a skimmer but would consider one if I get a bigger tank. Something like a 60P😉
Great helpful video james best review of the 2 i have seen.
