I bought these same boots about 6 months ago and have done hundreds of hours hiking in them in all conditions including thick mud and puddles up to my ankles. Mine have been flawless in terms of being completely waterproof. Very grippy on all terrain. Yours must have been faulty. I agree with the lack of supportive feel though and I also had to buy expensive inner soles as the ones that came with the boots were garbage
Can I ask why you didn't return the boots to Solomon as I'm pretty sure they have a 2 year warranty and should change them if the product doesn't meet its description and specification, so it not being waterproof should be covered 🤔

But did you buy tue GTX? Cause Goretex is definitely Waterproof. The ones i am about to purchase are the X Ultra Forces GTX mid Boot the material looks a bit more stout/thick compared to what you shown. Edit: watched again, and i did see the gore tex brand… hmm could be faulty send them back get either a fresh pair or money back.
Wow that’s crazy about the waterproofness! I have the X ultra 3 mid and I was surprised I could pretty much submerge my feet and they stayed dry! I guess this new version is crap 💩
Ever since Salomon started manufacturing in China, they're quality has really suffered, there not the same shoe company anymore. Sad because they used to be awesome, but every time a company lets the profit margins dictate decisions, the quality ALWAYS suffers...They don't realize customer loyalty drives profits higher than cost cutting materials.
i had the X Ultra just for normal wear for walking to work and not even for hiking and after like 1 year the front sole on both shoes left and right shoes give way,the whole glue just came off and also the design material on the sides peeled off!! yes the so called Gortex doesn't help and it's not waterproof. it's gonna be my last time getting a Salomon. Needs to research for other bramds.
I'm from Cape town in South Africa , Salomon has the worse service ever . I tried returning a Salomon forces boot at the canal walk branch and never mind not accepting my return the store manager was rude and pulling faces and asked me to sell the boot myself . I've bought so many boots , shoes and clothes from Salomon but not anymore. I'm moving to a new brand . There are plenty of alternatives like lowa and salewa. After sales support from Salomon is the pits ... I've sent numerous emails within the first 7 days of receiving the boot . No satisfaction . Just idiots employed at Salomon .
I bought these a couple months ago and have roughly 300 miles on them still going strong no issues with water getting in At all, I will say i have been staying on top of cleaning and treating them after hikes. what he says about the insole is true the insole is pretty mediocre even right out of the box it looks pretty flimsy if you decided to keep them definitely invest in a better pair of insoles.
Hi handsome. I looking to buy my next pair at rei. Rei gives you 1 year of satisfaction. I had a walking shoe from solomon it only lasted 3 months. I called the solomon and filed a complaint and they denied my claim for the out sole that smoothed out ,it was like walking on ice. So I keen boots they only last 1 year.
They suck my where done in a mouth almost a hole in the bottom. Customer service total me wear an tare. $174.00 what a total joke don’t waste your money‼️👎🏼

Great video i like it cuz its exactly what i experience.. these pair were ass compared to the other shoes and boots ive bought from salamon

What happens if the laces of the shoes are cut? Can these be bought somewhere or does salomon fix it for free?
