This is such a good thing to hear. I used to game on Linux back when you had to use playonlinux or wine. As someone standing on the sideline, I have a feeling the steam deck was the single best thing that helped Linux gaming?

Valve has been one of the biggest supporters in Linux gaming. They are amazing and that’s why I always chose to purchase games on Steam rather than on other platforms.

Also started down the rabbit hole, on both my laptop and PC where I find how easy it is now to play on Linux, literally most of my steam library and even games downloaded via Lutris has been working wonders! Good luck and congrats with the soon to be born child

How do you get the steamDeck-like metrics?

Just install Mangohud and use preset=2 setting. Take a look at the mangohud github page it's very simple.

Checkout its GitHub page to customize it. I mostly just use the preset=2 and some other customizations.

I have been a Linux user since December 19, 2021, and I am never using Windows ever again. Everything on Linux runs 100X better. Games run better and have more FPS.

i just Play Only Linux Games and Roms,period,and follow my advice - Stop snoflakery complains about Frames Per Second,its Ruining all Gaming experience....you people have powerfull pc desktop and still complaining about details that the general public does not give a S....about it....
