I really wonder what the limits are with that Fuse ability. I want to kill Ganon wielding an entire lemonade stand I built myself.
I wager that the weapon fusing is going to limited to two (though I suppose it's possible that it's actually a "base" weapon that you can switch the secondary part of as it gets damaged). The number of permutations involved of fusing more than two weapons at a time would just be too much to expect.
As far as the Ultrahand, however, it looks like those can get to be VERY complex.
As long as I can fuse a cucco to my shield I'm happy
@@YurimoHikashi Wait... if we can Fuse Cuccos... we could make a Staff of The Cucco God. Think about it. You're not damaging the Cucco. It gets damaged when it hits the enemy. You could literally make a Cucco Staff designed to summon a Giant Cucco on your enemy (or a massive swarm of Cuccos, depending on which version of Cucco Summoning they go with). Now I want Cucco Fusing to be a thing!
in botw, you can wield a chainsaw. in totk, you can wield a Double Chainsaw
Maybe you can fuse a mop onto the Master Sword.
The speedrunning potential of this game is going to be absurd with fuse and ultrahand, I can't wait to see how people will go about it

If bomb runes aren’t in the game, and you can finish the game immediately after the tutorial like the first game, btb might be the best option for a while I’d think, assuming that part of the physics still works

The fact that there's coordinates displayed on screen is HUGE. Now when you hunt for the new batch of 9,999 korok seeds, you can find their exact location on a guide.

The team saw how people just broke BotW and decided 'you know what, lets give them the tools to break the game even harder, and they won't even need to glitch anything to do so!'. Fuse alone is a big game changer; it seems like fusing straight up "repairs" your weapon since technically, it creates an all new one.
I know one of my main objectives will be to research how many things can be attatched to a long stick.

Imagine a multi-player home-made vehicle race. The Fuse ability looks really cool. There are almost infinite possibilities with it.
On the contrary, I felt like the possibilities are far too limited for how such an ability should be.
Seems like it only allowing one fused part at a time? In other words only squaring the number of weapons, and most of them is unlikely to be very interesting combinations (there is an argument for populating a game with few weapons, but have each be thought-out with a clear design-decision behind it - rather than have loads of different, but functionally identical, weapons with a few thought-out ones hidden in the large set of possible combinations/locations etc.)
As for the construction ability, feels like they just padded the skill-list with a branch of what should already have been part of the fuse ability (so noone complains about the removed ones from last game when having too few abilities). And even this branch is less interesting than one would have hoped, as it is literally only the weld-tool (from gmod). No axis/rope/motor tool or other interesting constraints to create some dynamic behaviours. Add to that how wonky the phys-gun seemed to work, and the lack of a spawn-menu...
Though the biggest issue with maximizing its potential however, is clearly the lack of some equivalent to wiremod. It did have activate-able things such as thrusters, but from what was shown I don't see a way to "program", much less program, your contraptions.
All that said though, I am still rather hype. Even if the abilities were lackluster compared to botw, the game is still likely to be really fun.

Either way, I would have been surprised if you could fuse a house onto your sword, considering quest givers tend to need to use those things.
You might be able to build a house with the contraption ability instead, though yeah, you won't be able to attack people using it.
@feha92 That's 100% fair. Having multiple objects for a weapon would be a nightmare to balance. I guess I'll have to wait for mods so I can run up to someone and crush them with a house.
I guess, for now, I can just construct a stationary, non-weapon house with the contraption ability...
I was worried that the scope of the game wouldn't be big enough, since people are still discovering new secrets in BotW six years later. But the Fuse ability alone will keep Tears of the Kingdom relevant AT LEAST a decade from now.
Fuse seems fairly simple for the most part. Every combination was definitely tested in advance to prevent the game from breaking in half.

I love that it's like Skyward but seamless, no loading, no disconnect between upper and lower worlds and such. Can't wait.
Imagine rolling up to Ganondorf/Demise with a freaking homemade gundam and pocket flamethrower! I was already looking forward to the game, but Fuse & Ultrahand alone have completely revitalized my excitement!

That was funnier they it should have been.
I don't know why the sight of Link running around a swinging a boulder on a tree branch is so funny to me. It's just the boulder shrunken down, but the fact that the shrinkage is probably just to make it so that it isn't clipping through the ground as Link stands makes me think that it really should be full size. Same with the log.
Little detail. In BotW the weather UI had a sun to represent if it’s a clear day. The sun had 6 circles around a big circle in the center. In TotK if you look at the sun icon, it has 8 circles surrounding a center circle now. Pretty neat how they subtly changed the UI.
They also changed the autosave slightly, but you can't see it because pointcrows camera is in the way.
@@LONELYL0SER and the Text and outlines are white instead of blue now. And there’s lore behind it. Lose the Shiekah slate and you also lose the sci-fi tech neon blue.
In general, it just looks a bit sleeker. You can see the temperature gauge now flashes red when it's too cold

I love when games update their UI to look more sleek. GOW Ragnarok’s UI change is one of my favorite UIs just because of how good it looks.

I sure hope so. In BOTW i have tried to set up bait for Golden Bokoblins many times, but it's a pain not being able to actually throw the meat in their direction and being limited to putting it in front of you

the real question is, are guardians still around? cuz apparently some decayed guardians aren't at their spots anymore. And since Link doesn't have the sheikah slate anymore, i personally assume that all the sheikah stuff were replaced by zonai stuff for totk

Fivehead theory is that whatever attack from Ganon that took out Link's arm also broke the master sword, and you'll have to use the Fuse ability to put it back together again.

I'm so thankful for this video. I saw pointcrow was live reacting to the trailer, but I couldn't be there. now this summary is just awesome
The ability is called "Recall". You are rewinding an objects movement. Its not really reversing time. Its as if every object that moves in the game is being recorded like a VCR by the game's engine and you can, in real time, rewind it.
8:59 you can get a steering wheel that seems to allow you to control your contraptions we see it on the car and the flying vehicle in the photos

If there isn’t a Battle Royal mode, people will make multiplayer and do Battle Royales themselves
Nah. Breath of the Wild's combat system would translate poorly into competitive multi-player. It would run into the same problem as the Punch Out remake for the Wii where the first person who attacks loses because of the Flurry Rush mechanic.

My guess with the meat arrow would be a kind of lure/decoy arrow, where the enemy is lured toward the spot you shoot the arrow at. Would make for some really interesting stealth strats!

Maybe to make certain arrows you need to fuse more than one ingredient like the leaf and ice chu jelly. So you can craft new ammo on the go.

I'm like 90% sure the battery for the propellers is an upgradable meter like health or stamina. It powers everything on a vehicle when activated and it recharges when its off.

2:02 I feel like what should be mentioned about recall is that yes, while it does rewind the flow of time on a object, if you notice the clock in the bottom right, it's actually going forward in time much faster than needed, so does this mean link is also accelerating through time?
nah thats just because a day in game cant actually be 24 hours lol if you go on botw it also goes 5 mins at a time

I always wondered what you can make with ALL the building materials for vehicles in the game.
I like to imagine attaching a Korok leaf to a shield and doing a shield flip would result in a jump boost
I think those construct enemies have each their own job. Some guard the islands, the ones that attack you, and then the ranger ones! the one in the cave and on the other side of the water, plant trees

I imagine the meat on an arrow is used as a distractor? Like how meat is used in BOTW to distract enemies, maybe you can distract them from far distances or make them walk away from their camp for stealth missions

I have a theory of the flamethrower shield. I think you have to get a flame machine from somewhere and then fuse it to your Shield

I think the fuse ability is cool however I hope there is a few downsides that varies depending on what your fusing to a point where its balanced but can still have fun
