Hi Kevin & Ange, we wanted a fuss free optiom so we booked a tour with transport. Personally, we did not research if it was doable without a tour. Just to note that for Bernina Red Train we took it one way only so if you arrange your own car you might have to take the train back to drive the car. Definitely, If you have the luxury of time maybe you want to explore doing this on your own so you can stop wherever you want.

Hi Andy, I am not sure what you mean here. We did not do a 2 day trip from Milan to Lake Como. The whole itinersry is a one day trip. Sorry for not making this clearer in the video. Do let me know if you have any other questions:)

Hi thanks for your video. I’m doing the same tour with Get your Guide. Just wondering how long is the tour and what time you get back to Milan. Only asking coz I need to catch another train to Florence that day. Also another question which side of the Bernini train has the best view right or left? Many thanks. All the best on your chanel.

      Hi Maureen,
      1) The tour ended at around 7.30-8pm for us. It should depend on traffic conditions and also if the people in the tour group adhere to the timings.
      2) I felt like the view on the left side is nicer though I was sitting on the right side. Nonetheless the view is still stunning on both side. Perhaps also to note that the day I was there, it was extremely foggy so I couldn’t see too far away.
Thanks for your comment. I hope this helps.

The railway station called Tirano RhB is considered Swiss territory although it is in Italy. After traveling with the Bernina Express to Tirano RhB it is advisable to continue towards Lugano with the red RhB bus which still awaits travelers coming from Chur. It is included in the Swiss Pass, the Interrail One Country of Switzerland, the Eurail pass and the like. Only the compulsory reservation must be paid separately. We do not recommend traveling from Tirano FS to Milan Central Station with the Trenord train due to the frequent works in progress.
