Hi, we are Stephen, Jess and little Hunter, a travelling van life family who self-converted their dream house on wheels - we now live full-time in our Sprinter van called Cooper as we do a full lap of our home Australia.
that baby is literally having the coolest introduction to earth. ever.
And she will be able to watch it all back when she’s older 🥹
Agreed, and nice parents.
@@jj-if6it mine was at 35...two weeks in Italy
Can you imagine someday Hunter’s grandkids will get to watch these videos. Take a moment and think about watching your great grandparents going about their life and traveling!!! I would love that so much!! They are giving a gift to their future family as well as the current one. I feel honored to get to watch these lovely bits of life🧡🖤🧡
yup, i hope it doesnt goes downhil for her future
The better way to do this is to not buy a "Bernina Express" Ticket but to just buy a regular ticket from St. Moritz to Tirano. There is a train every hour that goes along this route. The regular train has windows you can open, which is much nicer than the closed-box experience you get with the Bernina Express. Also, you can get out at any station, check out the scenery there, and hop on the next train. There are at least a dozen stations that are worth checking out along this route.
What's the name of the regular train? Is it Swiss or Italian service?
@@DaveKarl It's the regional train! I agree, it's better than the Express one!
Thanks for the tip. How do u cover the landscape between st moritz amd churr this way? Thanks again.
@@DaveKarl It is swiss and there is no name. Its just a train.
@@MuhammadAamir1 The same way. You can buy a ticket from Chur to St. Moritz or from Chur to Tirano. It is a very beautiful journey as well and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Hello, you can not buy a ticket for $26. The video creators need to edit the info in this video. Last week I went on the Bernina Express with my $26 ticket I bought 6 months ago after watching this video… the content creators lucked out on this because it was a mistake . The $26 is a reservation spot.
The day I went, they explained the reservation spot $26 and then charged me the full price of $135 on top of the $26 once I boarded and was 30 mins into the ride. We only had the one day to do this ride and to add salt to the wound, it was raining, cloudy and foggy that day and we saw NOTHING for $160 x 2 = $320 usd. Just beware that this is not accurate info and these content creators were very VERY lucky. I would have cancelled the train ride had I known that I was going to be charged that much for a cloudy mountainless ride for $320 😢
I notice your comment is 6 months old and the creators have not issued a correction. What frauds.
Hi Steven and Jess! I'm from Switzerland and as I am watching this Video, I am also in the Bernina Express, but not for travels, but to commute to school! It is so crazy to me that people from all over the world travel to this beautiful country and I get to experience it everyday! Anyways, I wish you guys a wonderful stay here in Switzerland and I recommend you to check out the medieval city of Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland!
Hi there. Any tips on getting the best value for using Bernina express? I’d like to visit St Moritz either from Zurich or Tirano. Thanks.
I can’t find any tickets for $26!! It costs more than that just to reserve the seat ??
You are the luckiest person in the world.. I just want to visit this heaven before I die... It's my only wish..
@@mags6452 I live in switzerland and the only „cheap“ tickets I know of are available if you are booking as a foreigner with a travel agency (partially supported by a grant from the government to boost tourism).
Heard from an asian tourist they have a european train card thing, that cost less for a week of unlimited train travel in switzerland, for less than I pay for a return ticket to the italian speaking south
@@mags6452 I looked also and it is only $26 if you reserve your seats, but it also says you have to buy tickets. It seems they were able to get away with not buying tickets. They were so lucky!
We went on the same trip not long ago, and for those who don't have luggage, I recommend taking the regional train instead of the Express. It has smaller windows that you can open halfway and is a bit cheaper, but mainly you can stop wherever you want and get back on the following train with the same ticket! :)
What town in Italy did you take your train from and how did you book the tickets ? Online
@@fratusd It's from Tirano
Why if u don’t have luggage?
@@lalau95 because if you do, you will need to carry it around with you all day.
I really love how having Hunter hasn’t stopped you both from travelling, she gets to enjoy the world with you ! What awesome childhood stories she’s going to have to share with her own 🥰 love from Australia x
I thought that too when I took my young children around the world. I was so proud of all the places we took them, all the things we did, all the cultures we experienced. But honestly, once home and back in school and normal life they remembered almost nothing without us prompting, reminding, telling them and showing them photos! The first trip they really remember doing was across southern Africa in their teens. Now in their 20s they're visiting all the countries we went to, to 'see it for themselves' (as they told me) hahahaha.🤦♀️ oh well, we had fun anyway. 🤷♀️😆
Suggest me some low cost hotels rooms to stay 3 to 4 days in any beautiful city of Switzerland.
SEND ME WEBSITE to pre book the rooms.
and suggest me where to stay and visit in Switzerland?
M Student nd planning a low budget trip with my 1 friend.
CAN you guys make a whole trip with low cost?
I'm swiss and I can recommend visiting Berner Oberland: take the mountain train up to mürren/almendhügel (big playground) and then walk down to gimmelwald (buggy friendly) and take the cable car back down,so beautiful and perfect with kids. Interlaken could be a good base for more trips in the area like Jungfrau or schilthornor you could stay in Thun which is my favourite town- it's not too touristy but has a beautiful old town and castle (15min train ride from Interlaken), also take the old steam boat on the thunersee or brienzersee, it has a special kids playroom. Lucerne is beautiful, stein am Rhein and Bern, the capital which I personally love-gorgous old town and the bears. The Rigi is also a great trip and has great views-i lived there for 6 years and it never got old, take the train up then hike half way down to kaltbad, get back on the train and take the boat back to Lucerne. Enjoy beautiful Switzerland!
Hello how’re you doing?
@@boboutelama5748 If you don't mind, may I ask which part of Switzerland is German-speaking and which part is French-speaking?
@@jizamitv Hello Jizami.
The part that is french speaking is on the north of the territory it stretches from the Canton Jura, goes through Neuchâtel, goes to the Canton of Vaud until Geneva. On that, the canton Valais, Bern and Fribourg are making a little extention in the midst of the territory (half german, half french).
But the Canton of Vaud is the most highly hit. Fribourg and Jura have some, but not in the scale of Vaud. There is no activity reported from Bern and Valais right now, but it can't be discarded either.
My goodness, you lucked out! What a spectacular train, the wrap around windows! And the best part are the views! Thank you again for sharing your adventures with us! Looking forward to the next adventure with you all!
Hey everyone!! Welcome to SWITZERLAND!! Check out the rest of our Switzerland vlogs :) czcams.com/video/N5ED8rcWMcY/video.html
You have to see the Seealpsee...or go to the Hoher Kasten..those ore two of many beautiful Mountains in Switzerland
Lauterbrunnen! I stayed at the Camping Jungfrau back when I was 19 and stayed in the hostel there. There’s also a little hotel and cabins, if I remember properly. It’s such a cute campground, there’s a little general store, and views of waterfalls. It’s beautiful. Plus, it’s in a little village and there’s cows. Have a wonderful time!
please add Türkish language 😊
Hey guys, cool that you are around. Come visit us in Vorarlberg. I will be your guide 😁
Aletsch Glacier! Also take a boat ride on Brienzersee lake from Interlaken!
Loved it guys! We’ve been flooded here in New Zealand, and evacuated - this video took me away from it all, thank you 🙏 it looks so stunning there 🤩
Hello guys, thank you for the great videos.
I'm Swiss and I would say almost any places in Switzerland are worth to see.
The most fantastic ones: Zermatt is an absolutely amazing spot in the montains.
So many cities are georgeous and around lakes and montains: Lugano, Locarno, Vevey, Montreux, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Zug, Zurich, Lucerne and so many more.
Have fun! :)
I love how you slow travel. It makes traveling vicariously with you so much more like we’re there.
I went on this exact train 8 years ago with my family from Italy sooo nostalgic watching this!!!
Hunter is so internationally cool to express joy in having sushi on a train ride in Switzerland! Your cheerful attitude is really contagious to her. She will grow up to be an awesome person. ❤
German here 👋 I grew up just an hour north of Switzerland. I’m in love with Switzerland for the stunning landscapes. That train ride looked incredible. I can personally recommend hiking up the mountain “Rigi”. I saw Alpacas on the way up that you can take for a walk and most of the way can also be made by a gondola and little trains. Stand-up paddle boarding or renting a pedal boat is awesome on any of the lakes (I did it on Greifensee).
In addition, I saved a couple of places to my Google Maps that people recommended to me for future trips:
- Arosa
- Caumasee
- Rheinschlucht
- Verzaska Valley (Pontei dei Salti)
- Blausee (Blue Lake?)
- Oeschinensee
- Thrill Walk, Birg
- Strandbad Merligen
- Rosenlaui
- Gelmerbahn
- Hotel Villa Honegg
- Swim in the river Rhine in Basel
Not too sure how accessible some of these places are 😀 Switzerland has many beautiful Multi-Day-Hikes, but I am not sure how that would work with a prem and luggage…
Anyway, it’s awesome seeing Europe through your eyes. Love the series!
Hi Stephen, Jess and Hunter! Hello from Canada! My wife and I just wanted to tell you how much we’ve enjoyed watching many of your past vlogs during the past pandemic, limited travel period. Our boys are older now so your adventures with little Hunter take us down parenting memory lane. We are very impressed with Stephen’s excellent video/sound production and are curious how he got the aerial drone shots of the full train in this video….guessing you must have stopped at a station, thrown the drone up and filmed a train going in other direction?…anyway take care and we look forward to your next travels….suggestion- renting cottage in Muskoka lakes area of Ontario and portaging by canoe in Algonquin park. Cheers!
This gives me so much joy to watch. Hunter is adorable!
This is a great video. I enjoyed it!
Welcome to Switzerland!🇨🇭I’ve lived here for 2 years now (I’m from the UK) so I’m so excited to watch your videos from here! It’s such a beautiful country and so many child friendly activities in the mountains here too so I’m sure you guys and little Hunter will have the best time! 💕
Hi Chloe!! Im thinking of visiting switzerland during mid nov! Is it a bad timing to visit? As i heard many places are close😢 Is it true??

I was looking about Bernina Express from Italy to Switzerland for this October trip for the last weeks, and finally you did the trip (with almost similar itinerary that I had!). Thank you so much!

Its beautiful. Thank your for the video
I am not usually saying stuff like these, but seeing your family in this video gave me a huge amount of joy.... You guys are great
The railway station called Tirano RhB, although located in Italy, is considered Swiss territory. Swiss VAT is therefore charged on tickets and souvenirs
Thanks for sharing wonderful travel experience congratulations to both of you congratulations 🙏
Wow! Thanks for the tips 💞💞💞👍🏼
Hold your breath! Switzerland will definitely amaze you! I'm so grateful to live in this beautiful countryIf you guys enjoy hikes, this is a great place! You could visit Zermatt (the Matterhorn), Ticino canton (Lugano, Locarno... they're so Italian and so cool with the lakes and Italy is close by!), Lauterbrunnen-Grindelwald-Jungfraujoch, Lausanne (I live here and the Lac Leman, the Lavaux vineyards are breathtaking and we are so close to France!), Appenzell canton has some great hikes, Graubünden, Rheinfalls-Schaffausen.... Hey, I‘m from Switzerland and I would totally recommend you visiting the „Rheinfall“. Thats a beautiful waterfall next to Schaffausen.
It makes my heart so warm watching you guys❤
I loved this! Way better than the cruise videos (for me). Just more natural and authentic.
I love this video so much! I've been following you guys for a couple years now but this is the first time I've gotten to watch a video as I am planning a trip of my own! It's so exciting! Thank you for the great tips and for making such beautiful videos
I also found some discount for

What views that train had!! So stunning! ✨ Closest I’ve come to that was travelling from Salzburg to Hallstatt - would highly recommend if you ever go to Austria. I definitely need to add Switzerland to my travel bucket list!
Wow this looks amazing! The views are incredible! I’ve heard so much about Switzerland and how much everything is 🙈
Was planning to buy train tickets in Italy later today, then saw your video! Adding this to the bucket list!!
Soooo good you got to experience a quiet train, we lucked out too and it was the most incredible experience ❤❤❤
when hunter appeared at 6:22 SO CUTE!! beautiful video as always
Looks like such a magical train ride!
Great video guys !!! I've traveled to Switzerland twice from the U.S. and it truly is the most beautiful country in the world. The reason you didn't encounter any border checks is because Italy and Switzerland are both members of what's called the Schengen Area. As long as you're traveling between Schengen Area countries (26 in all), there are no stops for border checks.
This is the most insanely gorgeous train ride I’ve ever seen 😍
WOW! What a beautiful trip! Worth every dollar!
Lovely!! Thanks for sharing this video, will be traveling with my two kids too! Interesting to learn from your experience 😊
Such a great video! We have Switzerland in our bucket list to return to before we move back to Queensland next year. We have been to Zermatt and went up Mt Gonegrat but we want to try something different.
Our little family look forward to your videos every week!
What a sensational train journey for such a great price! Fantastic value! Thanks for sharing 🤗🌞♥️

I loved Switzerland so looking forward to seeing videos. There is a beautiful church in Lucerne near the long timber walkway.
So beautiful and yes that train ride 💜 I love all of your adventures 🥰
Loved,this was so good
I loved Basel, Bern, and Lugano Switzerland!
I'm going to enjoy this leg. Switzerland is gorgeous.
Wonderful experience. I have traveled by the same train in last month from Tirano to St.Moritz. Enjoyed a lot with scenic natural beauty.
nice shots, and the video was put together well.
Fantastic, I love train travel and this particular part of Europe looks so exciting to take a train journey or two 👏
This is my no1 bucket list trip .. hopefully next year
Lovely. Switzerland is just beautiful. My favourite is Zermatt, so that's my tip. I generally go in winter, and mostly go up any mountain and then have a hike. Sometimes this goes through a forrest for some extra magic.
Oh, and you can get to Zermatt from St Moritz using the Glacier Express. Which is just as special as the destination.
Wow what an incredible experience! Switzerland looks amazing but seems expensive!
Living vicariously through your videos
With so much negativity and gloom in the world I love your positivity and joie de vivre, it's such an antidote. Subscribed.
Omg those windows!!! Another thing to put on my Europe travel list.
