Awesome! To me it seems that hajj was the United Nations of the time. I mean by that that diffent Nations would come to masjid al harem and discuss the laws of the God and propagate the solutions they reached back in their homeland. Just like what they do in the UN for evil today except the taqwa.

You’re right except for the “ masjid al haram “ part. But you got the point nonetheless.
Well it was at masjid al haram during prophet Muhammad’s time so I guess you’re right on that point.
That wasn’t necessarily the case during prophet Ibrahim’s time.
But again you got the point.

    The True Meaning of Pilgrimage
    5:95-97 - Kaaba in Bakkah - 3:96 - Source of Guidance
    Hajj/Pilgrimage - 2:194-197 - Go to the Source of Guidance - 3:96
    4 Sacred Months - 9:36-37 - 4 Seasons in a Year
"Don't wrong your souls in these months"
(It doesn't mean you are going to be righteous "only" in these months)
It just meant the beautiful lesson that
*Don't wrong your souls in these seasons*
*Postponing of Sacred months is not permissible, it should be observe and practiced every year.
It teaches us a valuable lesson that we should do good deed every day, every month, every year without Postponing it.
Now what is the "Source of Guidance" we should "Go to", so "We can do Right our souls in these seasons"
No other than the Quran - 16:89 - As the Source of Guidance.
    The True Pilgrimage is,
To go to the source of guidance which is the Quran and let us do good deeds in this life, for God has made this life sacred. 6:151

Looking at this esoterically, we can see the dispute is a lesson of the double minded man (the dispute is with one’s self), the one whose faith is shaky, the one who is unsure, is of two thoughts about God, and unguided by doctrine or knowledge. The HAJJ or pilgrimage is an introspective journey to wholeness, holiness, oneness. The third type of Man mentioned is the one who serves good on the edge (this is who we strive to be). When good happens he’s happy [and praises God] and when bad happens he turns his face [and praises God] meaning he doesn’t rely on the senses of the flesh. He ignore circumstances (that of the 3D world) and puts he’s faith in Allah.

The Hajj & Umrah (In Spiritual Way)
    Hajj means Pilgrimage
    Umrah means Minor Pilgrimage
    Pilgrimage means Journey
(A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO DRAW NEAR TO GOD)
"Whoever intends to perform it during them must abstain from indecent speech, from all wicked conduct, and from quarreling while on the Pilgrimage,..."
    2:197
"The Pilgrimage is in the appointed months."
    (10th, 11th, 12th)
(The 4 sacred months start at 9th/Ramadan 2:185-197)
    9:36
"Do not wrong your souls in these months."
"Fight the polytheist all together, as they fight you all together,..."
(It means Rebuke and Debate them for their wrong beliefs)
    22:27
    "Call mankind to the Pilgrimage."
(Not just the believers, but all mankind must perform the pilgrimage)
    Because...
    3:96
"...Bakkah. It is a blessed place; a source of guidance for the whole world."
(Because before, that place is where Muhammad Preach the pure Monotheism, and who really the true God is)
    3:97
(Pilgrimage is a duty to God)
    22:26,29
(We should circumbulate to the House of God it means GOD SHOULD BE THE CENTER OF OUR LIFE or WE SHOULD CIRCUMBULATE OUR LIFE TO GOD THROUGH FOLLOWING HIS COMMANDS AND WORSHIPPING HIM ALONE)
"...'DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH ME (GOD) ANYTHING..."
(IT MEANS, PILGRIMAGE IS AN ACT OF MONOTHEISM)
    2:196
"...If you are prevented from doing (Hajj & Umrah) so, then make whatever offering you can afford...."
(We can Offer a Sacrifice to God like an offer of
•Time, Focus, and Attention through Prayer, Fasting, and Helping other People)
(What is the Spiritual significance of Shaving our head when we have offer our sacrifices, is that about a Cleaning of mind, Satisfaction, Newness, and Inner Peace or Peace of mind.)
THE QURAN IS FROM BAKKAH, THE QURAN WAS REVEALED TO PROPHET MUHAMMAD WHO WAS BORN IN BAKKAH.
BAKKAH IS THE SOURCE OF GUIDANCE
    3:96
(THAT'S WHY PILGRIMAGE AT THE TIME OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD IS VERY IMPORTANT, BECAUSE ALL MANKIND MUST KNOW THE TRUTH OF MONOTHEISM FROM THAT PLACE AND WORSHIP GOD IN THE FIRST EVER HOUSE OF WORSHIP)
QURAN IS FROM THE SOURCE OF GUIDANCE (BAKKAH)
QURAN IS ALSO THE SOURCE OF GUIDANCE, THAT TEACH ALL MANKIND THE TRUE AND PURE MONOTHEISM..
    16:89
AND NOW, WE SHOULD PRACTICE THE SPIRITUAL WAY OF PILGRIMAGE...
SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO DRAW NEAR TO GOD
WHICH IS BY KNOWING GOD MORE THROUGH READING THE QURAN, WHICH IS THE SOURCE OF GUIDANCE.
    2:197
"Whoever intends to perform it during them must abstain from indecent speech, from all wicked conduct, and from quarreling while on the Pilgrimage,..."
These Months will give us Knowledge (Through reading the Quran) that we can apply to the rest of the months (August to March) and these 4 sacred months will give us rest in our souls and newness of life in a daily basis.
    Submission to God - Monotheism
    Submitted to God - Monotheist

As for the purpose of Hajj it could also mean that so the people can see what kind of benefits a state has when it is established as per law of God given in His Book. Such a state would be a welfare state in which needs of all citizens are taken care of in terms of their economic, social, educational, ethical, moral healthcare and a state which is based on rule of law.

I don’t think this Surah means the pilgrimage Hajj. Because the original root word of hajj ح ج ج means to dispute/to argue therefore any expansion/derivative of this root word CANNOT and SHOULD NOT differ from its original meaning. So how did to dispute evolve to pilgrimage/tawaf at the same time?? Because tawaf is circumambulation which is involved in hajj. The clear truth is they’ve made Islam into a cult religion and those who can’t accept merely want to hold on to their pagans practice of worship dont you think ?

@T I 1) isn't the mother of Issa who we should be learning on what a good believing woman should be like? IE wasn't she a light to the world?
      2) Word roots are basic to all languages, especially semitic languages. As in the Torah, "For example, the first word of the Torah, "bereishit," is usually translated as "in the beginning." The root is Reish-Alef-Shin, which means "head" or "first." However, God told us the Law was perverted from what they were given. Mohammedans have been doing the same, possibly?

So are we still required to perform hajj? I see you are using Sam Garrens translation, according to which, verse 9:28 commands believers to stop performing hajj. But the other translation I've looked at are completely different. It's a matter of grammar I believe that differentiates the two translations. If you could kindly share your insight, it would be very helpful.

    • @QuranAlone
      @QuranAlone  Před 4 lety +14

Regardless of 9:28, First off, Hajj means 'argument' so the purpose was for 'mankind' (not just muslims) from all over the place to visit 'masjid-alharam' and reason things out, by especially observing the standards set forth by Abraham (i,e Serve only one God). With that said, today Hajj is a ritual and completely changed format. Secondly, according to The Quran, when 'mankind visited 'masjid-al-haram' they also traded commodities. Certainly that is not the case either. So, today, and perhaps overtime, Hajj has become commercialized. Lastly, the entire idea of 'Hajj' according to The Quran (if one is to read in context all instances within The Quran), it appears that Hajj is certainly historic in nature and not an ongoing ritual, and in its entirely, it provides us guidance as to serve only one God alone, and not 'invent' anything. Thank you.
