he's very right. If they would have had more questions like "do you think you're a good person" it would have been a super fascinating show. Most of them are things that are observable facts, I know I've never cheated, I know I haven't lost $10,000 gambling. I don't know whether or not I truly believe that I am a good person. It gets super predictable seeing the same type of question being asked, knowing the questions are tailored specifically to be the most exciting ones.
edit: I paused the video to type this, as soon as I unpause he gave the same exact examples that first came to my mind.
That would be true if polygraphs were even slightly accurate, anyone would get nervous when asked deep questions like that, not necessarily nervous they're lying but nervous trying to think of the truth. "Am I a good person? Well i do xyz but also zyx" is going to come up as a lie most of the time because its a tense question.
It can also be influenced easily by the order of questions asked, like the girl from the first episode, if she walked in and that was the first question they asked then maybe yes would be the "true" answer but if they asked "have you ever cheated" and got a yes then asked "do you think you're a good person?" Directly after the answer is going to cause a lot more stress and hence come up as a lie
